I would really like to see a speed run where we don’t get ‘easier openings’ just because we are at a lower rating then we only get more theoretical ones when we get higher up the ladder. I really want to see how to punish ‘beginner mistakes’ using theoretical openings like the Najdorf, the Ruy, etc. but I rarely get to see that cauz it’s always the Scotch or something boring when we’re lower rated 😅
Well…. To put it clearly those openings wouldn’t be useful since they won’t play the main lines, he plays the “easier openings” because the opponents will often play into them instead of the najdorf…. From my experience as a 2100 rapid player I don’t think people are playing those lines below 1600ish
Agreed. Vienna and scotch game result in lots of early blunders from 1400s but id really want to see Danya play openings like the Ruy from both sides as well as the KID. No Italian tho, i would fall asleep.
Hi Danya, I just wanted to express how much I truly enjoy your content. Your dedication and passion for chess really shine through in everything you do. You're one of the absolute best teachers when it comes to chess! If you are thinking about restarting the speedrun, I'd love to see some full-fledged classical chess. You bring so much value in your explanations and thoughts, and it would be incredible and fascinating to hear/watch a Grandmaster going through things like Closed Spanishes/Italians. Maybe bring out some romantic chess? It'd be super fun to see the King's/Evan's/Scotch Gambit! There's also things like the Four Pawns vs the Alekhine, or a nice fun line like the Lasker Simul Gambit. I'd love to see some Classical Caro-Kann too, It's definitely sad to see how it's fallen out of favor despite (in my opinion) still having some venom for White. Some more Advanced would be good too, especially the Milner-Barry. Could also show some love to the Classical French too. Austrian Attack vs the Pirc/Modern, Modern/Classical/Nimzowitsch vs Petroff...And for the Sicilian it would be super fun to see a cut-throat Yugoslav vs the Dragon, or English Attack vs the Najdorf! Rossolimo & Sveshnikov would be nice too. Not to mention on the Black side how beneficial it would be to hear about the Queen's Gambit Declineds, Slavs like the Semi with the highly theoretical Botvinnik, or Moscow! Even the Classical Slav is pretty interesting. Then there's of course the creme of the crop in the Breyer, Chigorin, Open or Marshall Attack! Two Knights vs the Italian? Modern vs the King's Gambit? Bc5 vs the Scotch? Thank you for your dedication and contributions to the world of chess! I hope you can consider these suggestion, but i'm still going to eagerly wait whatever you post next. Keep up the amazing work!
I know you only planned on doing one of these but another speed run would be amazing!! I'm 940 ELO, currently playing the Ponziani as white, and Caro Kann as black. Another speed run where you share your favorite openings for the lower rating ranges would be awesome. Appreciate all the effort you put in. You are the best teacher on TH-cam.
I completely get restarting the speedrun due to the prevalence of suspicious players in the blitz pool at 2200+. Also, I imagine these higher level games take a lot more effort and get less viewership. On the other hand, I wanted to express my deep appreciation for these high level games and analyses. As a ~1900fide level player, I feel completely lost in complex positions like the one at 31:40, and seeing you break them down and make sense of them is quite enlightening. If this ends up being the last video of the speedrun, I'd nominate your recent game where you played Black vs the Jobava for "game (+analysis) of the run". That entire video was just incredible.
This is the last video. Next week, Danya starts the "positional" speedrun. One thing that's important to note about Danya's speedruns is that their point is easy to misunderstand, and I believe that is your case as well. This is the "deep opening analysis" speedrun. While Danya does go over these games as a whole, he focuses on one aspect of the game, and what you learn may be limited. I believe that this new positional run, which centers around an aspect of the game highly neglected by the majority of chess players, is a change of pace well overdue. You, and perhaps many others, will gain far more value from the early stages of this new run than you might think. For example, say Danya is playing a 800 in the fried liver. A normal speedrun game might go over all of the complexities and traps arising from such an opening, some insane bishop sacrifice, the odd line or two if you're lucky. Alas, an individual such as yourself, who is well-seasoned with this content, may not derive any useful value from it. A positional run, however, may go into diatribes about the middlegames of the fried liver, the common ideas associated with it, which anyone below master-level can appreciate. If you think this is not true, you are underestimating Danya. I mean he leaked his opening preparation at one point, which should show the lengths he goes to deliver on his promised "theme." In essence, anticipate this new run. Enjoy it. And you may learn from its earlier games just as much as these later games.
I have carefully watched all the games from all Danya's speed runs, and I have really benefitted from this tremendous content. However, I feel at this point that it's time to start a new speed run, perhaps with a different theme/approach.
I like how every time Danya has to calculate he says "I have to calculate for a moment in silence" and then the calculation is already over. If he doesn't point it out, we wouldn't even notice.
Although it is frustrating to face so many cheaters at this level, it is very instructional to see you play such high level games and explain them. I hope it continues, but I understand if you want to quit 🙂
Yra, Im around 2000 ELO and have koved tbis soeedrun throughout. Happy if it was pushed a little higher, but het I love watchong the early onea with my boys 6 and 9.
Thank you so much for these speedruns. You've single handedly improved my chess. Can you do maybe a few more games in the 1300-1600 ish range? Cause that's where the most players and a lot more players will profit from it, compared to say, a 2200 rated game because very few people are in that rating. Anyways, thank you so much again for these videos
I’m wondering if it might be useful to restart at like 1200-1300 elo cause I feel like most people here are intermediate or advanced. Could be wrong tho
I kinda wish more time was spent in the 1100-1800 range where most people here probably are. But since it's a new account he whizzes through those bits and spends most time in the 2000+ range which can be a little too complicated or theory-heavy.
The next speedrun has to be Kings Indian for sure, it's his pet opening and a lot of people including me love to see him play it. Leave a like on the video for the algorithm guys
great game and analysis thanks Danya ! 3 questions , short chess 960 speed run for fun ? checkmate patterns review ? 42 tactical motifs ? standard chess speed run ? Whatever it is I'll be here. keep going brother, great job !
Hi Danya! Can I ask why you think youve been struggling more on this speedrun? Do you think its all in your head or snipers are cheating in some way or something else?
There’s really no “silver bullet” answer to this question. At any moment, Danya can be tired, hungry, sick, unfocused trying to teach, not to mention he rarely plays online rapid AND is playing 2300+ players who have a lower difference in skill. Plus, he has a tendency to over exaggerate being “outplayed.” Perhaps he is facing one/move cheaters or snipers. Again, it is simply impossible to say.
A suggestion: link the videos where you have played similar or exact openings - it’s hard to find the one you were talking about, and you went through it very fast for those who aren’t as advanced Thank you danya
When you cover your eyes and calculate, what do you see? Is it visually seeing in your mind, or combination of seeing and knowing (knowing that a file is open or piece is hanging, etc)
I'm somewhat able to do this as well, and yes you can see the entire board, but as you visualize the moves, the real board isn't confusing your mind with the pieces that are stationary. I cant do it all the time, but for instance while watching Agadmator a while back, I was able to see a 7 move mate in a game later while laying in bed, and do what-ifs on the position. So far the hardest part for me is that I can't remember the position well enough to play it out without missing things. I calculate a lot of checkmates and tactics in courses on Chessable and really try to calculate to the end every time, and that really helps this skill, but for me it is slow to improve. Probably like many things, the better you get at it, the faster you improve.
What about a strictly 10 + 15 speedrun? Your over-the-board explanations are best in those games, and you don't have to rely on pressing on your opponent's clock as much. I think most of us understand well enough by now the importance of time management, and even how to apply it, because even low rated players work on that skill.
Always going to watch these. I do wish when he restarts the speed run he would start at a higher level. Something like 1000-1200. Seeing a gm roll beginners for eight videos is always a bit of a let down after these higher quality games.
juat wondering isnt at 7:04 @KNc4 a rea2lly good move? if bishop back to g4 you play bishop e4 and then white is almost lost at KNc4 white bishop takes, youtake with the rook attack the dark bishop and then the same thing happens. if nothing happens and he moves the queen to d4 you can take on b2
I’ve commented a few times on this but I would love to see you do an English opening as white in a speed run. It’s my favorite ipening and really nobody besides yassir Serwan has any content on it.
Maybe for the next set of speedrun, Daniel can do review viewer's video similar to Coach Andres's "The coach reacts" series. It's very useful to see the common mistakes that players at different level experience. The student's explaining the moves as it goes is important since sometimes player make the right move for the wrong reason, can then the mistakes shows up 1 move later.
I think starting over makes sense, I think about 1000 is the sweet spot where you need to show some knowledge about the game and not just take hanging pieces
Agreed. I think a little over 1000, 1400-1700 or so feels perfect to me. I just think these 2000+ games are probably good for super high-rated players, but a lot of the moves he makes automatically are not obvious to me, whereas he'd explain them if it was earlier in the speedrun.
@@octosaurinvasion Yeah you're right. I guess Danya just makes these ratings feel similar because he makes both of them look so easy. That's another reason lower level videos are so great, the plans are so clear.
The point is to offer instruction to the viewers at the level his rating is at that point in the speed run. I don’t want to watch content for beginners. It defeats the purpose entirely and is why I love Danya’s stuff so much.
For your new run could you play more d4/ c4? I’ve loved learning about the KID, Sicilian, French, and Caro from you, but as a c4/ d4 player I’ve always wanted to hear your ideas in those structures. Cheers to another speedrun!
The account has been closed for fair play, sucks that it happens so often at that level. As a Najdorf player I really enjoyed the last part of this speedrun though
Would like to see a more romantic style speedrun looking for open double edge games its nice to see the process of looking for complicated tactics and longterm calculation
You have played many gambits in these speedruns. For example Danish, Smith mora, Vienna, Stafford. Would you ever consider doing a Gambit only Speedrun? (Excluding the Queen's Gambit as most players don't accept it)
"I feel like I am getting outplayed the last 30 speedrun games" ...You mean the last 30 games you have won in a row? Pffft, come on Danya, being forced to play sweaty isn't being outplayed! Few people can outplay you, few enough we tend to know all their names.
I think it would be nice to see a new speed run with more usual game time to limit the chance of you playing people watching your streams or cheating using an engine knowing it’s you
I am a little confused. You mean one on one coaching? If so, please never ask anybody that. If someone is good enough to coach chess (and they’re not your mum or dad), they most likely make their living from it. Why should they do it for free? I could be totally misreading your question of course!

great game and analysis thanks Danya !
Plus, he has a tendency to over exaggerate being “outplayed.”
Perhaps he is facing one/move cheaters or snipers. Again, it is simply impossible to say.
This opponent's account was closed for cheating
A suggestion: link the videos where you have played similar or exact openings - it’s hard to find the one you were talking about, and you went through it very fast for those who aren’t as advanced
Thank you danya
Can you do a D4 mainline speedrun next? I think half of your audience would love that
yeah me too I am d4 player and wanna see some quality content in those openings
Ye
@11:10 very difficult decision for our opponent, lol
noticed that too lmao
New speed run 😀 Oh this is great news !
Needed a Danya vid today
Danya, please post more bullet brawls in the channel
Happy birthday buddy🎉
The speedrun will be very fun and interesting when your opponent plays well.
Yessssssss!!
Next speed run, you should play the Spanish and the Najdorf, right from the beginning (and NID).
Always going to watch these. I do wish when he restarts the speed run he would start at a higher level. Something like 1000-1200. Seeing a gm roll beginners for eight videos is always a bit of a let down after these higher quality games.
Yes, restarting the speedrun soon!
Hey does anyone know what previous speedrun game hes talking about where he goes in depth into the English attack?
juat wondering isnt at 7:04 @KNc4 a rea2lly good move? if bishop back to g4 you play bishop e4 and then white is almost lost at KNc4 white bishop takes, youtake with the rook attack the dark bishop and then the same thing happens. if nothing happens and he moves the queen to d4 you can take on b2
I’ve commented a few times on this but I would love to see you do an English opening as white in a speed run. It’s my favorite ipening and really nobody besides yassir Serwan has any content on it.
It's time, the 1. d4 speedrun
I generally stop learning anything from these games past 1700.
@@ScotchEnjoyer 1400-1700 are not "a little over 1000", they're enormously different. I agree though that it is higher than 1000.
Hey danya, you announced an update to the podia course but it s yet to come out, any news?
The clock usage / time management of our opponent is very bizarre. Especially in the middle game towards the end.
5:14, even Danya plays hope chess sometimes 😂
Love the video
For your new run could you play more d4/ c4? I’ve loved learning about the KID, Sicilian, French, and Caro from you, but as a c4/ d4 player I’ve always wanted to hear your ideas in those structures. Cheers to another speedrun!
Congratulations for continuously winning 4th bullet brawl❤❤❤❤
Hey Danya, is it possible that you play the Jobava and the Scandinavian/Kings Indian, for the next speedrun ? 😇🙏🏾
11:14 why didnt he play bishop takes knight e4 ????
@GM Daniel Naroditsky what did your Brother say about the simular move order? 😅
Do you give chess coaching? If so I’d be interested
We do need a new account name for the new speedrun. How about LPDO 😜😜
Any other suggestions??
The account has been closed for fair play, sucks that it happens so often at that level. As a Najdorf player I really enjoyed the last part of this speedrun though
Captain Danya? LOL. Nice one.
You were going to explain why Nbd7 instead of Nc6...
Please do a Queen's Gambit/Caro/King's Indian speedrun!
(Excluding the Queen's Gambit as most players don't accept it)
Digesting good moves help the viewers to improve well.
yes restart please senpai
next speed run can you do queens gambit as white and caro as black?
Can you play against d4 nymzo and queen's indian defence in your next speedrun plz?
Thanks me for watching 👀 make more vids bro!
Can I ask why people call Daniel Naroditsky "Danya"? I started playing chess recently and just discovered his channel.
You'll also hear him calling Olexandr Bortnyk "Sasha", which is also the standard Slavic nickname for Alexander.
Gambit only speedrun let’s go
I don't know guys, I thought stockfish69's time usage what kind of odd, but I don't wanna draw any hasty conclusions
"I feel like I am getting outplayed the last 30 speedrun games"
...You mean the last 30 games you have won in a row? Pffft, come on Danya, being forced to play sweaty isn't being outplayed! Few people can outplay you, few enough we tend to know all their names.
I think it would be nice to see a new speed run with more usual game time to limit the chance of you playing people watching your streams or cheating using an engine knowing it’s you
too bad think the best videos are the one vs good players... anyway good to see u wanna do more
Guys, Is there anyway to get free coaching classes? Not from danya of course but some other person or so.
I am a little confused. You mean one on one coaching? If so, please never ask anybody that. If someone is good enough to coach chess (and they’re not your mum or dad), they most likely make their living from it. Why should they do it for free? I could be totally misreading your question of course!
@@berndwind No not one on one but some free classes and stuff. I don't have any money so
@@ankitkachchhi7293 aaah got it. Hmm do you have a chess club near you? Otherwise for actual live classes, I wouldn’t know… loads of amazing free content out there though, like this channel, Chessable etc.
@@ankitkachchhi7293you can reach very high level without any coach, there are even some strong titled players who are self taught
