I told you guys I’d be doing a full analysis of this script and highlighting aspects that were changed and were different to the movies we got.

I think Sam leaving the mask behind tells us that as long as she has Tara, Tara is her anchor and will always pull her back from the darkness she has within her. The whole movie tells you Tara is her anchor and even Danny could be. Radio Silence had said that they'll tease Sam turning but she'll never turn because that wouldn't make sense for her character.
Tara and Danny are what keep for becoming the monster her father was.

I prefer what we got. I like that Tara gave Sam that look to do it. It matches with Tara’s reaction to stabbing Ethan. Almost like Tara is becoming like Sam instead of Sam becoming like Tara.

Yes, Sam is already darker… because of Billy… and can parallel a harder Sidney (Sidney of Scream 3-4) while Tara is now paralleling a Sidney of Scream 2 ending.
Tara is so much stronger and unfortunately, darker… from all of the trauma, as Sidney was coming into by Scream 3.

I think Tara was calling Wayne too as Sam was in costume redeeming her missed phone call when Richie didn't answer the call when Tara called in 5 and makes sense because Tara was missing until after Sam revealed herself not revealing anything inside the mask. It's like a sister Ghostface team-up which kind of sounds epic lol.
Only if they was gf in 7 and finally end Sidney's ridiculous survival n every movie smh

So Sam was gonna go The Two-Face route, where she becomes the villian after being a hero. I guess Scream 7 could have had a Batman Vs. Two-Face showdown aka Sidney Prescott vs. Sam Carpenter. That would've been interesting to see.
Yup and Sam gutting Sydney revenge for her father and finally seeing all these sidneycrybabies crying over super girl finally dying
No. Sam would end up dying. Sidney would win with Tara's help.

i think i prefer the one we got, it still hints at sam's ability for violence and the struggle to control her bloodlust but it also serves tara's character if in the future they want to do some twist with tara. and it feels like it completes their arc together from the earlier scene where they learn to trust each other i.e. sam learning that she can trust tara to protect herself and tara trusting that sam protecting her doesn't mean that she doesn't believe in tara or that sam is being so hardcore because she has reason to be.

I think that the leaving off the mask at the end of the movie is the same as the killers leaving the masks at the crime scenes throughout, and that Tara is the one thing that Sam has to hold on to, to not let her change and go bad. I also think that the reason it was changed and had more closure in the final movie was because every scream movie is left with some sort of closure, and they didn’t want to not have that so instead alluded to the darkness inside her instead of fully showing it.
This makes me sad. Sam deserves better writers
I like how she was on Scream (5). Scream 6? Not so much.
@leohcarrillo2981 actually she was more better in scream 6 , In scream 5 in the first or middle scene her acting wasn't that good but in scream 6 the whole of the movies i like how her acting getting improve
@@leohcarrillo2981i respectfully disagree, in 6 melissa’s acting is crazy good throughout the whole movie, she became more comfortable w her character sam and i was and still am so happy on how she portrayed sam in s6 in comparison to s5
@@RAINTROUPE I wasnt talking about Melissa’s acting. I was talking about Sam, the character, who- in my opinion- has a meh devoploment in S6 than S5.

This detail really makes me think… I have no idea why they changed this. I liked Tara a lot less after that moment because she instigated my least favorite part of the movie. It’s one thing for Sam to kill ghostface, but another to make a big deal about how she’s not a killer and will show mercy… and then kill him anyway just because she wanted to. I think if Tara was disturbed by this instead of instigating it, it would recontextualize the moment as something the audience should also be disturbed by. And it would show where Sam’s arc may be heading.. it would be much more interesting than what we got.
Oh I agree! I didn't even make the comparison between Sam and Anakin from the Star Wars prequels thanks for pointing that out!
Sam’s story definitely lacked context in Scream 6. I feel this does clarify a lot, but ultimately means nothing as they played it safe by redeeming her in the actual movie.
They didn't redeem her... She hunted down and brutally killed a man who wasn't even a threat to her anymore and dropped the mask like the killers at the end.
I misinterpreted the title. I thought it meant sam was supposed to be a sacrifice to save the others especially her sister and tara wasnt able to save her. But honestly i think sam becoming GF is too obvious although if played out right, it would be interesting to see how the writers tell that part of her story. I feel like at least one of the killers should've lived and be arrested. If tara would've held same back from finishing off detective bailey, at that moment ethan could've popped out of nowhere for one final scare and then kirby could throw the tv on him and thats when the cops would show up to finally arrest bailey for his crimes. Also, i wish they would've left gale's fate unknown but Danny had to ruin it for us🙄
Sam & her mother go after Tara in Scream 7 in a perfect world?!
I like what we got, it shows that where you come from doesn't have to determine where you end up. Just because her dad was a crazy psychotic killer doesn't mean Sam has to or will follow in his footsteps and become what he was.
I love the similarities to Anakin skywalker. Never noticed that before.
I’m just glad they got to end 6 and the story felt like a clean wrap up. I want another scream movie but a GOOD ONE please if not let it die

I always felt like Sam taking the mask was her way of having a piece of Billy AKA her father around. It seems like her mother's not around and her dad is dead so it stands for reason that even if he was a psycho killer, she would still want a piece of him around.
It's probably writers who can't make up their and minds and they also never think things through!
Her dropping the mask is more powerful than that scene
I'm so bummed that radio silence fired Melissa Barerea what a shame we'll never get to see the trilogy they had planned... Bummer!!!!
I would've loved to see her become ghostface (surprisingly enough). Having Tara trying to understand what happened to her sister while not knowing she's on a killing spree would be interesting. There's potential with that type of story.
Imagine: Stu comes back to hunt Billy’s daughter as a final revenge for what happened to him, and how billy ruined his life by being ing down that path.
That shows Stu's hypocrisy, as Stu didn't had a real excuse for his involvement.
The original Scream 1 scrip stated that "peer pressure" was an excuse that Billy told Stu to use if they got caught, since Stu didn't really had a true motive.
Maybe Roman Bridger manipulated him too, and his peer pressure came actually from the director himself, who knows.
Okay this sounds cool , but i honestly love what we got in the film.
Tara and Danny are Sam's anchors. Losing one or both of them would make Sam go 100% into darkness imo. If feel like if they truly wanted to make Sam go full darkness in 7 I think Tara would have to be the opening kill in order for this to happen. Yes she would stay have Danny but I think personally if she loses Tara she'd lose it fully and would leave Gale and Sidney to stop her.

Ugh. Why did they have to have Tara with Sam when Sam killed Bailey????? Why couldn't they let Sam do it alone?? SHE is the star. Not Tara.
I don't know, I still think that Tara had something to do with the killings in Scream 5 and 6, not physically, but as the mastermind behind the killings. I mean, it does make sense. Tara has the motive.

Also, I always thought Sam telling her therapist that killing Richie felt right, alluded to the fact that he literally betrayed her, tried to kill Sam AND her sister AND their friends, with success in killing their friends, the current sheriff AND DEWEY!! Therefore, killing Richie would make things not feel GOOD, but BETTER. Because, let's face it, as much as we love watching Ghostface, they ALWAYS deserve what they get.
If someone came after everyone I loved AND betrayed me by making me fall in love with them, and believed they loved me, ONLY as a ruse to attack and try to kill me, yeah, I could see how killing that person might feel "right".

In real life, Sam Carpenter would have been guilty of, at the very least, voluntary manslaughter, which is something that I think about whenever I watch the scene of her killing Detective Bailey. She did not act in self-defense. Plus, what plausible explanation could she have given to the authorities for why she had to stab Bailey over twenty times? Also, consider that, while she was putting her plan to kill Bailey in motion, Kirby Reed was lying on the floor, bleeding profusely from her stab wound. As much as I like the Scream movies, I wish that they were more realistic.
