- What’s going on guys and welcome to today’s instalment from the channel. Today we’re delving into Scream 7, but not in the same way we usually do. Today’s video is discussing what was originally meant to happen to one specific character, that character is Sam Carpenter who was the main star of the new trilogy, and we can call it a trilogy now as Skeet Ulrich has more or less confirmed that the intentions of Sam’s story was to conclude in a rounded trilogy, similar to what happened with Sidney Prescott in the first three Scream movies.

It makes sense. I liked your idea of the killer potentially being Christina Carpenter. It would bring the Mom/Daughter story full circle, similar to how it did with Scream 3.
It is not really his idea, to be honest. Since long idea of team Leslie Macher & Christina Carpenter as ghostfaces was loosely introduced around social media, some even saying, it was 'one of leaked scenario' when Sam character was still around, yet. 🤷🏻♀️
So, as much as idea is nice, I will not say, it is 'his idea'. ✌️

The idea sounded bad anyways, mark and sidney coming back with their children as the new main characters and gale as their aunt who can also help them with fighting against ghostface and teach them something
This actually sounds compelling to me and I see a lot of potential in it but I don't think the current two writers could craft a story that good but with the help of Christopher Landon in the writing room and Directing, I do believe the script could have gotten better!
Okay now that plot sounds way darker than the usual scream movie and I'm all for it. What was said about Sam accidentally killing someone gave me an idea. What if the opening kill was Ghostface coming for Sam but ends up getting taken out by Sam instead and when the mask gets taken off, it's her mom!! That would be the push Sam needs to go full on psycho mode.

As much as i would like that, i would've also like to have learned more about the mom. I mean cmon she was literally connected to billy around the time of the first killing spree that he and stu caused. Id wanna see her giving us more insight about what her relationship with billy was like and if she knew about sidney dating billy. Hell, i would even like for Christina and Sidney to meet face to face.

7th movie should have been Sam and Sydney and their families facing a cult of Ghostfaces with an old-school character pulling the strings. Stu should have been this character, they even had a hint in Scream 6 while looking at the broken tv. It would be weird if he was still alive but we've seen weirder things happen in these movies (like characters being alive after multiple stabs). The final scene could have been a battle between Sam and Sydney after Stu made Sam succumb to her darkness. It would be a great finale, adapting rumors and ideas from both cancelled original Scream 7 and the new one that is coming.
A script was ready from april. Melissa was the only that had signed on. All the cast knew that scream7 will happen. Also the killers were Christina and Leslie. Tara would have only 2 scenes from the phone
I think I like the story as a standalone thing but idk how I would feel about moving away from the formula that makes scream what it is. I mean I think they could work in a ghost face killer but it still sounds overly complicated.
Yep, sounds like a side story , good enough for a spinoff movie with a different title that's in the same scream universe but not Scream 7
It seems like they wanted to do what halloween did with their last movie, halloween ends where you see cory fighting between good and evil. He ultimately lets evil take full control of him and.. well we see how that ended and it was probably the most hated movie of the new halloween trilogy. I'm hoping that if they do take this direction with sam, they dont make the same mistakes as halloween ends did. How i see this play out is maybe that they follow the same formula that all the other movies have: opening kill/attack, introduction to new and established characters, attacks/kills, third act and ending. With this formula they also add sam's story dynamic of her fighting against becoming a killer like her father. Not sure how this would play out exactly but i guess it could be similar to My Bloody Valentine how that one guy Tom turned out to be the killer all along and revealing that he was having hallucinations of his split personality as a killer miner. Maybe sam will have a split personality as being a ghostface killer in scream 7. I'm not sure how they would've made sense of that during her 3rd time of going through a killing spree. I'd assume it will be her competing against a different GF? Idk. Whatever route they choose to go with this one they better make sense of it and not have it become messy like halloween ends. I can see sam sacrificing herself to save tara in the end sort of as a full circle moment and closure to her story, possibly making tara the new lead. I wouldn't be mad at that tbh. It'll also emphasize on the rule that nobody is safe, not even the heroes of the movie franchise.

The more potential plot details for the Sam story I hear about, the more sick I feel that we lost what I think would've been an incredibly good story over something so idiotic. I will never stop saying it: Melissa. Got. Done. So. Dirty. & that alone just sours whatever theyre coming up with currently. I know a lot of people are happy about Sidney's return, but her story was over 2 movies ago & I personally found Sam's story to be more compelling. Idk, this all just sucks. I was prediciting Sam being revealed at the end of 7 to have been the killer in 7 the whole time and it coming down to Tara vs Sam to mirror Sidney vs Roman.
I think bringing Kirby back in 6 was a good choice. Now they can leave 6 as the end. If we wanted we could view 4,5,6 as its own trilogy.
Four is someone forcing Sidney to get involved. Five is Sidney choosing to get involved. Six is Sidney choosing her family and happiness over being a hero.
I'm actually completely gutted if this was true 😭 Would have been a very cool perspective from the killers POV (Sam) a character we know. I still live in hope that Spyglass will bring her back. Whilst I was never a huge fan of some of the core four, I would have enjoyed this perspective.
OMG, I am so glad this idea didn’t come to fruition! As a long time fan, this would have been absolutely TERRIBLE and so un-Scream-like! Personally, this would’ve destroyed the franchise in my eyes. For me, even though I very much despise the last two films, the Carpenter sisters’ storyline has been concluded. Their main involvement was Richie and that story has been beaten to death throughout two films now. Scream 6 ended with Sam throwing the Ghostface mask onto the ground, walking ahead with Tara and embracing her future. Why would you take that character and completely push her down a dark path for a final installment to a franchise? That idea would not have been worthy of yet ANOTHER sequel. We need to get back to the original Scream roots now with Sidney, Gale and a fresh new cast to close out this franchise once and for all. Sadly, these characters from the past two movies have been exhausted, so it’s definitely time for a fresh route going forward.
We need a decent movie about Sidney Prescott.
I could imagine it being a scenario where through the whole film there’s a ghostface going round but then at the end the twist is, camera pans to Sam zooms out and there she is in ghostface outfit, knife in hand and she’s been the killer all along

i can see how that'd possibly play out in the movie, like sam imagine if sam is attacked but it turns out she was actually hallucinating and she doesn't know what to trust anymore
It would’ve been American Psycho meets Scream. Kinda cool if you think about it. The kills can be happening around her, then she kills a Ghostface “fan” and then she decides to go after some Richie apologist. Oooh it writes itself honestly
This was a dream.... this is a shattered dream thanks to some man who got his feelings hurt .... omgeeee lol this hurts.
I think a great ending to this trilogy would be Tara killing Ghostface, take off the mask and find that it's Sam. Sam started off killing other Ghostface wannabes she finds online and through the course of the film, lost her sense of morality and became like Billy.

If Sam returns there is no way they will kill her in this movie. Not after all this backlash. Maybe in the future but not her next movie.
I mean it would be nice to see sam sacrificing herself to save tara and whoever else is a victim in the third act. Maybe sam is brutally injured and tara along with other survivors all battle/gang up against the killer(s) and successfully executes them. Maybe this time around one of the Ghostfaces escape or gets caught.

They really did just take the original 3 movies lots and twist them a bit. First was boyfriend, second was boyfriends parent, third would have been main characters family member
Considering I’m 44 and was 16 when the first film was released in theaters, I will tell you this, any elite ideas for killers being revealed are in fact, leaked. Which means they would not have been. The final final choice on the film was created and shot, they would’ve changed the ending completely

What if the audience finds out at the end of Scream that Sam is the mastermind and she orchestrated the kills in Scream 5 & 6. Tara then kills Sam at the end of Scream 7.

I like the idea and it is definitely something they have to toy with because to keep the franchise alive, they cannot just introduce a character who replaces the exact role of Sidney. They absolutely need to move the focus away from Sidney and they need to do it by getting away from the "final girl" trope and adopting what's more modern. It should be a complicated person. And that's the lack of foresight from the previous movies. They should have ended Scream 4 with Jill being sent to jail. Scream 6 should have ended with Sam keeping the mask. They need to keep these plot points open for the franchise to move on.

if this was real i feel like the opening kill would be Ghostface targeting Sam or one of her friends and Sam killing ghostface, making more ghostfaces come after her throughout the movie.

I would rather Scream 7 be Core Four focused. I liked the earlier discussions about them discussing a different location like overseas or something. 6 built The Core 4 up so 7 to ditch 6's Core 4 development would feel so odd and wouldn't make too much sense. Creative idea, but it wouldn't work. We get it, once again teasing Sam's dark side but why? Doesn't seem like 7 would of had a point though I do prefer this idea to the one where it had the legacy characters in and it felt so clusterfuckery. But all I wanted for 7 is Tara to be more apart of the story so either way, I probably wouldn't of seen 7 in theaters. I wanted the relationship between Chad and Tara explored more. I wanted to know more about Danny. So 7 would of left Danny out? He would of been that other anchor for Sam I feel unless Danny would of been the one who was killed. You saw how good Danny was with Sam in 7. Hard to believe they'd leave him out and not mention him.
I think this take on 7 sounds a little too dark for a Scream film. Me personally. I’d probably go see it irregardless because I am a fan of the series but I think it would be too hard to come back out such a dark film. Like scream is not a saw film. Make sense? Not sure if I explained this right but just my opinion
The only thing that sounds remotely interesting is seeing what the killer does behind the scenes. Other than that, that's not Scream and I think it would've sucked. Plus the end of 6 made me feel like Sam was over the evil side of things. I just wish they could bring everyone back from 6 along with Sidney and Mark and give us the legacy movie we've always wanted.
I’m glad this didn’t happen. It sounds like terrible writing this late into a trilogy. A trilogy is a beginning, middle, and end. The end (third movie) is supposed to bring a resolution to a character arc. Like Sidney facing her past via the Stab movie set and learning about her mother.
There was nothing about Sam’s arc so far to show a negative story arc. Her arc seemed to be more about chosen family and determining your own fate so for her to lose out to mental illness doesn’t fit. It also just removes blame from Billy and his mother’s kills because they were therefore genetically disposed to be killers. That defeats the purpose of a whole done it which is “it could be any of us”.
If this is true and her role was THAT much important in the plot then them firing her doesn't make any sense. You don't spit on 100M$+ in revenues for an Instagram story. If this is real info, Spyglass are the worst people in the cinema business.

Neve, even if we know her moral compass by heart and HERE nothing can change... Well. Unless her KIDS/FAMILY are in DANGER. She always steals a show and is practically GOLD TICKET for success. Like, SCREAM V was not so good, but because Barrera was supported with Neve(aside Ortega), who covered her rather not much reliable acting, it became good movie. 🤷🏻♀️
6th...got weak acting even more visible on some parts, even if Barrera got better. BUT I SO want Sid back, best in some LEGACY focuse. And Sid is 'SCREAM queen'(reference to first movie). So, I hope for Sid plot being more about how Ghostface became cult aiming Sid, which played right can be shown as NATURAL EVOLUTION of everything from 1-6. 🤷🏻♀️

Real Sid fans would want her to live happy and not have to put her through more trauma. I love Sidney. She is my fav final girl ever. But I want her to ride off into the sunset and have her happy ending. Her story went as far as it could go. There is nothing more from her past that she needs to atone for. At this point, her character would feel extremely forced to be included in the overall story-line.

A Joker style Scream movie sounds pretty whack. If you want to rip off Joker you better be prepared for comparisons and people calling it a dollar store Joker movie. Joker is respected and liked by so many people (including myself surprisingly enough).
