Yes you can but most likely the ESC will get very hot and burn down if you don't put a fan on the ESC. Is recommended to get use a mamba max pro or a mamba monster ESC's. With that motor after a few passes you need to let the system cool down or it will burn no matter which ESC you use. Thanks for watching!!
@rccrazer Yes it was a 3cell lipo, but unfortionaly the 7700kv motor loss tork and the 5900kv motor performed alot better due to the better tork. I was able to hit 99 Mph with the 5900kv. Is in the recent videos. Thanks for watching!!

How long did your motor survive running 3s battery? Castle says not to, which is keeping mw from getting it. Any info will be appreciated
Here I used a custom made 34t spur and a 32t 32pitch setup with castle creations mamba monster ESC and castle creations 7700kv motor on 3cells lipo.

But bro, castle doesnt not recommend to use 3s on 6900 and 7700. Are you ok with that risk? Or is there any trick? For instance, can I run this combo on my 4 tec 2.0 using 35\55 gear with 3s?

How many teeth is the spur and how tight do you have the slipper clutch?
I used a 4 cell battery with the 9000kv and it held up good. You have to let it cool down after one pass.
I also have the Castle Link software and Airtronics remote which allows me to turn down the power for when I'm not racing.

I think it was 26t pinion and a custom 32t spur.
@yucahead13 i am a redcat fanatic. so everytime you post this thing you better believe i'll watch it more than once. i may have some insight to your torque issue from a racers perspective and from a speed freak myself on a redcat platform (my best was 86 with the tornado epx pro.) your killing my speed already. if you want my 2 cents i'll give you them. but i totally get the journey aspect so please tell me how you want to go about this so maybe i can help.

I'm honestly not concern with motor and esc temps because I only do no more than 2 passes and I let the motor and esc cool down. For the lipos I use Turnigy A-SPEC or Turnigy Ultimate.

hi i just built a car and i use hobbywings sames as hsp esc 60 amp with fan and castle cm36 7700kv brushless motor but apparently low kv u have more torque u gain but less speed but i don t understand sorry for that but my car have a good grip but i have to control the throttle or the car gonna sliding everywhere.... do you think it because i keep the monster truck pinion gear???
when i said the car sliding everywhere when i punch the throttle i mean the torque is very high for a 7700kv plus a have AWD and act like 2WD on the first start... but after the car come stable

I'm working with TimSmithracing dot c.o.m. to break 100mph on 2 cells, but I'm not going to use the redcat car, I will be using a Factory Team TC4 for that.What I'm going to do is to break the record on 4cells with my Redcat car which is 143mph and he is helping me with new motors. I will post more video updates as soon as I can. As soon as I compete and stablish a record speed I will post my gearing combination so you can try it. !!!
You should add a 30mm fan, with 3 AA batteries.

I purchased a 9000kv motor and a 5000mah 3s lipo and I keep shredding the pinion and the spur gears...I even went steel

yungTedDebeosi option 2 is to reduce weight by using a small mah lipo say around the 3000mah mark wih a larger c rating. swap some of the chassis parts for carbon fibre to reduce weight this in turn will boost speed at the cost of traction. will also lighten load on the drive train

Unfortunately I only had a 2pole motor 7700kv, but if I had the 6900kv or the 7700kv 4 pole motors the car would go faster. Now I don't own this car anymore. I hope this helps.

I have a redcat Lighting EPX Pro brushless that is currently stock... Can I put a 4 pole 7700kv castle creation motor with the stock brushless ESC?
Chris Sharp not recommended but go with cm36 2 pole 7700kv with ok 20t gear pinion or less and large spur gear. i put 21t gear and 58 spur alot tork
Can I get a castle creations 7700kv and run it on a 4s battery evan though it says 2s max and I no I would have to let it cool down after every pass
+greg tillman i think at that kv the core would shatter from over revving. better to have a lower kv with a longer can and gear it a lot higher to make up for the lack of speed but the increase in torque

If you use a 3500kv motor it will go slower than a 7700kv motor on 2s.
