I just wanted to see inside this one, but not really into the detail of how they work. I just like to put them in and drive.

Don't get lazy and not clean and lube the bearings after going through mud and water, I had a bearing go and it shorted the esc and it went up in flames.

Great video wish you would have tested it at the end though it should work with the broken shaft

It’s an inrunner! Meaning the magnets are on the armature.

😁Hi Rich It's called a rotor its a big magnet and they put like a epoxy around it so the inside cant scrape on the rotor magnet or the neo magnets don't flake apart.

Cheers Steve, I didn't know how it all worked, and so the more people comment the more I learn, slightly boring video but then who's not wondered what's inside one?

The brushless motor works exactly like an AC induction motor. The middle section of the motor is called the rotor. Inside the rotor there are aluminium/metal bars that will follow the stator.
The stator are the bunch of copper windings on the outside of the rotor. The microcircuitry on the motor plate allows the copper windings to constantly turn on and off, this creates a constant changing magnetic field and therefore a constant changing magnetic flux that the rotor follows round and round. This is why it is called a brushless motor as the stator induces a current in the rotor which produces a torque that allows it to spin, hence therefore the motor can work.
BTW, lol sorry for too much info, I am a Year 12 student doing my HSC, so I have to know this for physics!

Except the micro circuitry you mentioned is replaced by an electronic speed controller in brushless motor. Now get back to your notes 😛

Also, in brushless dc motors, permanent magnets are used instead of an induction squirrel cage

That's the rotor the only thing on that is magnets
