Noticed the chapters so I went to the description to see which tips you were showing off because I’m impatient. And I saw a link to my video!! What a fun surprise. lol.
Wow didnt think I'd be able to teach a master builder something new. But show what a great game this is that there is always something new to learn or discover
@fromscratchgaming man, I'm watching your Roman starter base video right now and daaaaaamn that's cool! In any case, looking forward to see more of your content. Chill, relaxing, good vibes and great builds. So yeah, subbed 👌
No worries. Yeah that would be pretty sick. Maybe some one will create a mod for that. But I don't know anything about how hard that would be to pull off.
Thanks for this. Been trying to do a tower with curled walls and found I was spiraling instead - now I know how to do both snapping and freeform curves. Cheers!
Even with 1000 hrs in game some of these were still really help full. I knew about the snapping to a track but never thought about pillar walls using this method. I might finally be able to make some interesting tunnels! Thank you!
"Have you ever looked at someone else's build in Satisfactory and thought, 'are we even playing the same game?'?" Nope, never...It is just something I intrinsically knew as truth. They are playing a different game, and I am at peace with that. However, I have no problem learning why it is a different game! 👍
Just finished getting all achievements, left with a gigantic box factory, this video came at the perfect time! The building is very versatile once you know the tricks.
@@Womblewobble1321 I've not played Valheim yet but the builds people make are pretty cool so I definitely want to try it at some point. When I get over my satisfactory addiction 🤣
WHOAH I didn't think any building blocks snapped properly to tracks, that's very useful! Beams and pillars are the real game changer in the building system for sure.
I've got to say it - this is one of the best Satisfactory tips videos I've seen. I'll definitely be returning to this for some of my builds :). Instant subscribe. Thank you :D
Cool, glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the sub I do have some more tips videos planned out, but let me know if you have any questions or what any tips on anything else in the game.
Nailed it on the ASMR part. It‘s the calm relaxation we all need facing the fact that we are still using floating platforms and basic walls if we‘re being fancy. Useful tips though!
This is FANTASTIC!!!! Please please keep doing these. I am horrible at design, but trying to get better. I just watched your railway tour video, and am wondering if you could do a design video with a railway angle - tips/tricks with a rail/bridge focus. Oddly curved foundations, creative railway pillars stuff like that.
Great glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah I could definitely do something along those lines. Got a few other videos in the works but they will all be design focused so hopefully you'll get something from them as well.
Excellent. Just excellent. 500 hours or so in, and these tips just helped me decide to 'dress' up my factory. Since I've nearly completed the game, and my factory is very, very boring! Most of it is simply factories set on foundations with no walls or roofs. : ( (Although I'm rather proud of how clean it is with one massive bus-line in the center of the build feeding everything through logistic floors. Getting some fps drop though)
Sounds good dude. Love a massive bus line. Would be cool to see some photos of what you end up building. If you want drop in to my discord and share what you end up doing.
@ definitely knew some things were possible by what I saw, just didn’t know how to do it. Thank you for sharing these advance techniques. Already shared it with my friends that play.
10:52 - just a tip if u want to make walls seemless with your foundations. use 1 meter segments, they have a way more cleaner look without all these details , perfectly fitting foundations.
I am not really into weird angles and also generally try to avoid overlapping structures - but specifically any z-fighting. So maybe I might play around more with that tip to fix z-fighting in mind.
You can do the rounded pillar thing for pillar supports too if you want a rounded base, though there’s a little bit of flickering around the bolts. Sad that its not possible to do with painted beams, that would have been really useful.
Yeah I've been trying to figure out if there is a way to do it with painted beams. I've got close but not quite there yet. If I do though I'll be sure to share
I use a couple of mods that offer far greater variety for building. Structial solutions and Linear motion by D4rk, Curve builder by last_nomai_ and Circuitry logic gate by Sam Crosscat etc. This allows 100's of different addon its and the Circuitry mod allows to automate and have real time displays etc. (Stuff I hoped was going to be added to V1 but ..... )
the modding scene for this game is amazing and I am definitely gonna dive in at some point. But at the moment I'm enjoying seeing how far you can push things in the vanilla game. As for wishing for things add for 1.0 I know how you feel and I have a video planned on what I'd like to see for 1.1/DLC so watch this space as logic and real time production monitoring will definitely be mentioned.
If it's the one I think k you mean I'm pretty sure I sure I used some road barriers to put the foundations where I wanted them. But you've given me an idea for another video about how to make different shapes buildings.
thanks scratch. can you please explain how to make upside down machines or machines on 'walls', also i would know how to curve glass walls into a dome.
One word 'mods'. I'm assuming you've seen GameLabs video? Yeah looks like they use a tone of mods. Thire builds are still amazing though and there is still a lot in there that you can do vanilla. If you want to know what mods sorry I've never really used to many so wouldn't know.
@fromscratchgaming Amazing stuff! Thank you very much! But one question I have: On the perfectly angled pillars. At the end where you show a example how to use them, how did you manage to do the upper pillars vertical instead of horizontal as showed. Thy
Thanks! It's the same technique, maybe I should have gone more in to why/how it works so people can take the idea and apply it in different ways. But basically all you are doing is getting the right angle by using the beam to go between the two point that need to be matched then you'd use a beam on those two pillars you added to move the snapping point down or up which ever is needed needed by 1 meter so that they are positioned correctly to match up with the original pillars. Hope that helps a bit it's hard to explain so I might go back over it in a bit more depth on a future video
Haha yeah I don't know where he is from beyond the obvious that he is from the UK. But from the sound of his accent he comes from a similar area of the UK to me.
Yeah definitely. I've got a video planned all about "set dressing" (I might have to come up with a better name for it) but it'll incule alot of stuff like that with some blueprints
I don't do numbers when I build as I'm very very dyslexic so not sure I can help. I just do it all by eye. Not sure I'm playing the right game to be honest 🤣
Ooh. I know the answer. Foundations rotate in five degree increments. So use the center of a foundation as your guide instead of beam. Place a pillar. Delete foundation. Replace foundation after two clicks. Place pillar. Delete foundation. Repeat.
Thanks for the tips. I have two requests for explanations of how a part of a build was done. Both are coming from GameLab's "ALL FOR ONE" showcase video. The first one shows what looks like a super sized quantum encoder built on a wall instead of a floor. How the heck is this possible? The only way I can think of is through blueprint file editing. th-cam.com/video/IebeB9fYUbw/w-d-xo.html The second one shows this really neat layered triangular automatic door hallways. I don't even know where to begin with figuring out how that was done. th-cam.com/video/IebeB9fYUbw/w-d-xo.html Any tips for how to pull off neat stuff like this would be really appreciated.
The answer is mods. I think it's smart mod, but I don't really use mods so I could be wrong. But from what I know it lets you place anything you want anywhere and scale it to any size. But it is an incredible build.
Thank you for this elaborate tutorial. When building arches I'm encountering a problem. When I place the last pillar of the arch, the overlap on the side is not perfectly clean as with the other pillars. They stick out. I see this happening in you vid too. If you would look at the left side of your arch, the horizontal pillar and the pillar you placed at 20:49 are sticking out on the side a little bit. Do you have a solution for this?
Unfortunately not. It is always gonna be very slightly off or as far as I know it will be. If I find another method or a fix I'll include it in another video
Noticed the chapters so I went to the description to see which tips you were showing off because I’m impatient. And I saw a link to my video!! What a fun surprise. lol.
Yeah dude. You talking about the beam origin point in your last video clicked it in my mind what i'd done wrong with pillar curves so thanks for that.
Never thought to use the sliding pillar trick to make walls exactly flush with foundations. That’s great.
Wow didnt think I'd be able to teach a master builder something new. But show what a great game this is that there is always something new to learn or discover
Your ASM at the pool made me laugh so hard - love it!

Your opening paragraph is something I've been saying since people have been posting videos of Satisfactory.
yeah they regularly say it on the dev stream
