Yes please, would love your take on a long distance highway that includes both trucks and trains with optional pipes/conveyor. I know of Bitz's design and some are available as a blueprint on satisfactory calculator.
With the bigger blueprint designer you could revisit this video. I don't know what fits better. A video per style with splits, intersection, bridges etc. as a blueprint catalog. Or again a video with different designs.
Are you kidding me? Yesterday I was sad that you didn't have a video about rail line designs. And I do mean that unironically. And yes, even to think about that I searched SPECIFICALLY after this and that I am THIS happy to get this notification makes me realize that I may have a Satisfactory related problem. But I don't care. You rock. Cheers.
I’ve always been a fan of skyrail support pillar designs. Sifting through the blueprints listed on Satisfactory calculator, I always appreciate designers going for simple designs taking consideration of the fact you’re going to be placing a lot of these down. These are some good-looking designs you have so far. 👍
Oh, I really like the lights "tucked in" to the large pillar supports. I didn't know you could even do that. My current railway blueprints are dual-carriageway supports in "flat", "slight angle" and "steep angle" variants and I just plunk them along the terrain (elevated by foundations a bit to make sure there's vehicle clearance as needed, then I delete the foundations and run steel pillars down to the ground) allowing for trains snaking through the landscape in a (mostly) fluid fashion. I just string rail between them once they're placed, and the max rail length means I end up with a nice tidy line/array of supports marching across the map.
This is brilliant. I’m new to trying to make designs of buildings etc and this is so helpful. What I really need is a reaaaalllly basic vid of the how ‘nudge’ etc. I’ve watched your tips etc but you whizz through so fast lol Really appreciate all these help vids though, so so good.
Nudging is super simple, press G (I think) to lock the buildable in place then use arrow keys to nudge the item forwards / backwards left or right (it doesn't work with all build pieces) you can also hold CTRL whilst pressing the arrow keys to make half sized nudges ☺️
Satisfactory allows for some amazing creativity.. as you have shown. Thanks for sharing your designs, they will definitely inspire some of my future builds.
One of my problems with satisfactory is I keep trying to build things too close to the ground. The problem with that is the terrain is not transformable, and there's actually very little flat space. Next time I play it I need to do what everyone else does and just build elevated roads/rails/factories and stop trying to fit buildings in the tiny amount of flat terrain I can find. I'll give it another shot when 1.0 comes out.
I like to build a platform at the high point. Then I will drop down into the hollows of the terrain for logistics, smelters, storage, etc! The terrain is a feature not a bug!
Love these step by step blueprint tutorials...and yes even more asthetic, complex design ones would be awesome, don't be afraid for peeps to require the max size blueprint designer either for the more complex ones, since by that time, hopefully peeps will have unlocked those. 👍
Excellent approach to trains. I wonder now about stacking multiple lines in congested areas, and the various interchanges. Brief flashbacks to the "Conjunction Junction" song/video.
I just made a blueprint where I had the base be a Power Tower Platform. It follows similarly to Design 8 surprisingly with some minor differences. On the top are Street Lights. I do this because Ziplining is my preferred form of transportation so underneath I can zipline while up above are the train tracks. Really excited to making it work. Need to make one that works well for 90 degree turns as 45 degrees tends to get me off the standard grid which upsets me.
when starting a new factory in the world, in general i would recommend to first plan (and build or outline) the infrastructure before starting on the actal factory. This way you can be sure, that everything fits as wanted and you dont end up refactoring your entire factory the moment you realize that your infrastructure needs more space than anticipated
It very nice design for line settings. It would be great if you could show how these design solutions will look at connection points under different angles, not just 90 degrees but also 30/60 or 45. Usually, it’s a significant challenge to create something elegant when dealing with turns that aren’t at 90-degree angles. Thank you for nice videos and streams.
Always interested in seeing more design. Blueprints are perfect for stuff like that. I know you don't like em' but i'd like to see what you could do for trucks and vehicles logistics.
Very nice designs. I like them much and also like the fact that you explain how to create them. Any chance for a small video where show how to use them to setup rail systems? I'm particularly interested on how you use those bridges and how you manage curves and intersection. In any cases, thanks for the video.
I saw this video and decided to go back and play some more. I made a huge mistake in opening up my last save/playthrough and was demoralized about starting again after all the work I had done before. I love this game; just damn, is it hard to start fresh and not cry. (at least a little)
I try to keep everything to a single height where possible as it keeps everything even, rails tend to go a little wild if you're constantly going up and down
Hey, @TotalXclipse just added myself to your patron as a "Half Moon". Where do I locate the blueprints for Satisfactory? PS: I do offer my sincerest apologies to all others for my grammar I am quiet drunk at this point.
The most recent post includes the blueprint link. Take the folder and extract it and move them into your satisfactory blueprints folder which is located in the same folder as your satisfactory saves
In the general topic, the thing I've been struggling with is actually the stations. I'm stumped at basic station design. What gets me is the sheer size of these things. My last attempt stranded at wanting to make a rail network of dedicated small factories, e.g. one (or one per region) pumping out computers, one for rotors, etc - every component that's used in large volume by multiple other factories. The first one was a combined iron, copper and steel station just for pickup. The thing was so large that all processing machines together filled but a corner of the space under the platforms. It had to be raised very high just to fit all of it in the landscape. Or over, more like. And then there's the choice to raise the stations or have them at the bottom, and a bunch more bricks in a giant wall that just flattened my morale.
My apologies if I have missed it elsewhere, but does anyone know of good ways to make nice rails that involve turns? I really don't like any of the ones I've made
These are really nice detailed designs that can be simply copied into the game via blueprints. But a problem is that you didnt really have an explanation on how to handle these designs in a turn. Sure going straight is going to be super pretty, but once a turn come the players wont know how to make that look good
@@TotalXclipse Yeah i can totally understand that time of the video was your concern. I would really appreciate if you made a follow up video of explaining how you would handle turns and inclines for these modules
I can never get railways to actually work efficiently, if at all. I've tried to find something about the logistics of rails, like optimal train numbers, car numbers, length of segments, etc, but I haven't found one. Do you have something like that in any of your videos?
The problem i have with rails and roads are curves and inclines... I can design straight structures just fine (though not as pretty as yours) but i can never use them in my playthrough because i get frustrated with terrain...
Funny that you made this video right now, cause i was looking for Raildesign just yesterday xD Nice work as always, will take some inspiration from that for my own builds :)
Me the ultra practical person. Why are you adding so much detailing that do not enhance the structual integrity (or the preceived such)?? Surprisingly triggering considering it's so small details that you add that are affected by only serving imo cosmetic effect (yes technically almost everything is cosmetic but i mean the parts that even IF the game had support physics would be cosmetic)
Would you like to see more complex designs?
yes of course! silly question

looking at those metro designs struck me, what if having a road tunnel on the side of them for trucks and only separated by an elevated walkway..

You always manage to create superb constructions with just the basic items.

Nice tutorial on designing rails.
If I had to pick one game I could only play forever it's likely going to be Satisfactory.

yup. I also wanted to follow the ground, but no. Elevated is superior. Just need to add believable supports and it's all good.

Good as always id like to see some blue prints that we can snap together to make curves and inclines and curving inclines. Make it happen my friend.😄

The bost design for me is one way on top of another. That eliminates complex crossroads completely - opposite tracks never intersects.
love your work!

@@TotalXclipse Could even push the thought further and do the same with conveyor/pipes buses !
I am building a world rail network at the moment.

For some reason after this video I want to build everything as minimalistic as possible and color in mirrors edge style
they do look cool

Achievements will not working with old save
Could you make a central storage video before 1.0? Your vids have def helped me out for my first play through!
Really nice and helpful video my friend! Can I ask, how do you paste the sign config at 6:58 without opening the pannel? Thank you :)

How do you deal with different hight level when you'r using blueprint ?

I haven't seriously touched Satisfactory since update 3 (and a bit of 4). I am starting to itch playing, but waiting for 1.0 at this point.
Not long now!
12:54 wait, you can do that with beams????
Hello there
what are those lights?
2:27 hate my brain... you did few strokes and it all came together. Meanwhile I can't even imagine single simple style or how to even build one.
You've got this! Focus on design 3, then work your way up ☺️
Wow
Make more designs overall it gives me ideas to recreate your designs and not quit satisfactory cuz im not creative enaugh lmao
The problem isnt the support designs, its the rails themselves. They are too short to get realistic curves, sucks the immersion right out of the game.
