My family lives in Thunder Bay and I drove up there from Oshawa with my Grandmother. She pulled over for me so I could yell “go Terry” and I took his picture. He looked very tired that day. Gram and I prayed for him.

A real true hero, what an effort, pushing through the pain barriers , sad that it had spread to his lungs , he definitely deserves that statue in his honour , my missus's brother lost his leg through cancer aged 14, and beat cancer again early this year after it spreading to his kidney, good video, ATB , take care 👍

Thanks for making this video. I’m still in awe at how Terry knew at 21 years of age how he wanted to manage the run and sponsors with specific criteria that he didn’t compromise on. I’m thankful I was old enough (15/16 yrs) to have witnessed it. It was moving stuff at the time. He united a country like no one else has ever done before.
I too am thankful I was old enough to understand what he was doing even if I really didn’t understand why. It is amazing when you mention his tenacity for all aspects of his run. Terry is truly a Canadian Hero in all our hearts. What a great human being. I know his legacy will forever be remembered. I know when I was in school we went running to remember him, now my kids do it at school as well. Watching this video reminds me what he went through and his ambition in life. I've done multi day marathons. It is hard. To do it for weeks on an 80s fake leg is undoubtedly amazingly tough

I was driving heavy truck in those days and passed by Terry just a few days before he had to stop his run. It was a very memorable time then and now.
