Seriously, BF is like a mini odyssey it really pushed the engine that 3D world was on and it made me buy the re-release as its something only the switch could do

I recently played SM3DW when it came out for switch... and I was so blown away by the amount of end game content, you just keep unlocking worlds, and they get better. I still never even unlocked the last world with the champion road. I think it's so rare these days for a game to just keep giving you more levels, even when you think for sure it's over, that's what I really liked about it.
16:19 every time he shows I shot of his game collection I always pause the video to count the games he has and to see which ones I need for my collection.

I agree with how being in a new kingdom was wasted, look at Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, going into the bean bean kingdom was so cool since it felt so different like a whole new world and I really enjoy it
The best part about Superstar Saga's areas was that they felt like great spins on common tropes. Like, the haunted forest wasn't just a haunted forest, it was also a soda distillery (and also hid a secret snail society), the tropical island was actually a resort, the desert was actually the second coming of the antichrist. Mostly not new concepts, but definitely not what you'd come to expect from the themes. Brilliant.
When younger, the fakeout on world 7 took me off guard, and I wanted to stop playing there and come back the other day, but that really surprised me and my interest on the game made me overnight and played it until I got stuck on the last level of world star.
@@goreman7160 I stopped playing the game when, weeks after, I FINALLY cleared the last level from world flower. After 1 year, I accepted the challenge of collecting every star and stamp (I already have touched every flagpole top). It took me 2 or 3 weeks. After getting to world crown, tried 5 thousand times Champions Road and failed, completed the Captain Toad level and after so many tries completed the mystery box level. Fast forward to February this year, I came back to the game and finally completed the game. I didn't 100%. Wasn't going to collect all character stamps.
3d world's biggest thing to me is the music. Like, "A Boss Approaches" and "World Bowser" are straight bangers. Then there are more upbeat songs like "Super Bell Hill" and "Double Cherry Pass" and there are more chill beats like "World 5" and "Footlight Lane". I could go on but the music is just so good.
I can't imagine the amount of work put in this video. Despite being above an hour long, every topic and everything in general went really smooth, it was a really enjoyable video. So glad that the algorithm of yt showed me this at midnight
“These are game journalists we’re talking about here. Do they even know how to have fun?” I look forward to the excellent Twitter discourse regarding this line in the upcoming days
Just discovering both right now for the first time and it's hard to say which I like better. I need to git gud at Bowser's Fury, it's a blast but I get stuck on needing a couple shines I'm not that great at getting, I'm trying to get better at the progression. I was looking at 3D World almost like it was a 2D Mario, like it almost felt that way, but the more I play it the more it develops it's own unique characteristics that mskes it distinct from every other Mario I've played
@@goreman7160 I didn't see him throw it in the toilet, so I'd assume he loves it, then again, I haven't seen the cartridge and you KNOW that shit can be swallowed whole.
3D World was the first game I beat on my own. I will never forget how epic that final boss was and how proud I was to finish it without the help of an older sibling. It is my favorite Mario game. It’s just so polished and perfect and fun.
Mario Galaxy - "The Amazing Inbred Cousin." Such a back-handedly perfect description of the Galaxy games. Also THAT PLAYABLE PAULINE IDEA WITH ODYSSEY'S HAT TOSS IS AMAZING WTF!!! Nintendo rarely does multiple playable characters in a main Mario game. SMB2, Mario 64 DS, Super Paper Mario, and I guess here in 3D World. The "New" games having toads is kiiinda cool but Nintendo refuses to be cooler and use their Mario characters in Mario games. I've learned that to ever expect Daisy or Wario & Waluigi is just a waste of breath.
like how luigi is jokingly called "green mario", the toads in the new soups are essentially just "blue and yellow mario". buckenberry and ala-gold deserve better 😩
I definitely agree that this game is the most consistently good Mario game. None of the levels feel frustrating or repetitive to me unlike literally every other 3D Mario.
I felt the same way when decades later I learned you could parry Ganondorf's black hole attack with a spin attack, despite the strategy guide saying it was impossible.
The crown in this game really is such an interesting insight into the human brain. Every time I’ve played this game with others, every single level starts with everyone throwing eachother around and ground pounding everywhere trying to steal the shiny crown that does absolutely nothing other than sparkle
Scott. You have no idea how happy it makes me that this video is comprehensive of the entire life span of this game. I played 3D World on Wii U once and I thought it was slow, boring, and derivative. However; because of Bowser’s Fury, I bought the new deluxe version and my god I fell in love. I couldn’t put this new version of 3D World down. It was so charming. I had been so wrong about 3D World this whole time and I was actually happy that I had this hidden gem of Nintendo Magic that I could experience for the first time at my age. Anyway. After all that with the game, coming and watching your entire experience with the game is such a wonderful treat.

Scott The Woz Archive is horrible. It's bad enough the profile pic is an exact copy of Scott The Woz's but with glasses photoshoped on, but I've heard so many people get this name wrong, getting it confused with Scott's Stash and the original Scott The Woz channel, it makes me so angry.

So the universe freaks out when Scott talks about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, as it believed Mk8 Deluxe was just MK8, yet it’s perfectly fine with Scott talking about 3D World a third time but there’s bowser’s fury now?
I think after Borderline Forever, the universe realized Scott isn't someone to be trifled with and is steering clear of him.
It appears the cosmic will of the universe accepts Bowser’s Fury more than Battle Mode.
@@Dargonhuman love the song"closing in"
This port made HUGE differences and the reception seems quite improved after Odyssey's release. Plus I don't remember anyone freaking out about Mario kart 8 deluxe video.
@@MrGamelover23 I’m not saying people were freaking out. It was the universe itself that collapsed because it doesn’t like it when Scott talks about the same thing again. Also to everyone else, I understand that Bowser’s Fury is a fairly sized side game.
In all honesty whenever i see a new Scott video I am just generally happy for a good few hours
5:05 “New Super Mario Bros. was great, I think the four stages of grief are awesome.” Absolutely great, and to think I didn’t notice the first time OR second time I watched so after a critical third look, I now can say that this episode is of my favorites from Scott.
3d world + Bowser's fury is a low key masterpiece. A joy from start to finish. All killer, no filler. Never have I hated so much a game on release to just adore it so much, 8 years later.
Seriously, BF is like a mini odyssey it really pushed the engine that 3D world was on and it made me buy the re-release as its something only the switch could do
@@breadmilkYT Yes. To me it was kinda like a demo of what an actual fully open Mario game could look like. With all the different stages in the same map and multiple angles of approach. Hopefully the next Mario Game will keep this structure.
"The month of Christ! That's a Xenoblade thing" I love how accurate it is even though I'm pretty sure Scott never finished any Xeno games
Not Xenoblade but Xeno Saga has Jesus as an actual character.

3D world is like 10 years of Mario being a yearly release franchise rolled into one game.
In a bad way or good way? I'm trying to identify it myself lol
It’s been a couple years since I’ve touched the game(on Wiiu lol) and me and my brother are still stuck on world star level 3 lol :,D

I’m glad someone finally addressed the “generic plastic art style” Mario has now. I’ve noticed it for a while but never hear anyone talk about it
It makes a man appreciate denim all the more
I've been feeling it since Galaxy, not that it is a bad game, but I do not consider its artstyle too appealing to me.
Yeah, Mario Odyssey was pretty much the only recent game that didn’t have it.
I think Ceave Gaming has a video about it.
I think he was only talking about 3D world. Galaxy doesn't really have it. At 29:00 he even praises Galaxy's look
29:18 I remember when i played that level and got to that bridge and i was- yeah that's a bridge alright. truly sums up the whole game in one bridge.

It’s like the video was trying to think for a second how that sentence would appeal to me.
Omg thanks for all the likes! 😊
Brilliant.
@@imaginaryboy2000 " the desert was actually the second coming of the antichrist" man i really need to play superstar saga some day
When younger, the fakeout on world 7 took me off guard, and I wanted to stop playing there and come back the other day, but that really surprised me and my interest on the game made me overnight and played it until I got stuck on the last level of world star.
How did you feel about world crown
Don't talk about that bad bad bad level

I look forward to the excellent Twitter discourse regarding this line in the upcoming days
58:52 is when he FINALLY starts talking about Bowser’s Fury
We get less than 10mins of Bowsers Fury in an hour long video?!?!? Bowsers Fury is undoubtedly the absolute highlight of 3D world.
Scott is probably the only guy who’s crazy enough to pump out 1 hour’s worth of scripted content with so much effort.

Mario Galaxy - "The Amazing Inbred Cousin."
Such a back-handedly perfect description of the Galaxy games.
Nintendo is infamously elitist when it comes to characters made by people who aren't the big nintendo legends.
