The fact that this was created as the request of a fan from “Make A Wish” really shows how great Scott is Definitely helps Skylanders is just full of Nostalgia
I think the Waste Chaser jokes are some of the funniest things Scott's written. The "I bought 30 acres of farmland." "What are you gonna do with it?" quote followed by them just smiling in silence at the camera gets me every time
the reason this video was 50 minutes wasn’t because he was complaining, but it was because he showed the entire clip of him loading in a character on disney infinity
I only later realized that this entire hour long episode was was for a make-a-wish kid. Scott put way more effort into this than he needed to, and that's awesome.
To be fair, Zak only wanted an episode about Skylanders: Trap Team. It was Scott, who bloated it up. He also could've done an episode about all Skylanders games. Instead he threw all TtL games in the mix. Also this episode isn't only for that one kid, but for all of us to enjoy.
@@dangerousbeans I see it more as “I wanna make a video about Trap Team for this kid but I’ve never played a Skylanders game in my life, so I’ll play every toys to life game I can find!”

You forgot to mention that Disney Infinity had a much sweeter ending. After announcing the discontinuation of the series, Disney ported all the games to PC, titled the Gold Editions. Every single character, play set, and power piece was all unlocked at the start and each game is only $30. Although the Gold Edition games do have some content that was missing from the original console releases, the Apolo mod for Disney Infinity 3.0 is a fanmade mod that aims to add in all the characters not included in the PC port. There's also a ton of scrapped, cancelled or unused content and characters that have been restored to full functionality! If you want to play Disney Infinity without the hassle of individually buying everything, get the Gold Editions.
it's still kinda greasy they didn't release just an all in one gold edition. i seriously didn't know you couldn't use older play sets in the newer games until this video. do the mods at least remove the no crossover restrictions?
And the best part? I got all 3 on sale during the summer sale for less than 1 of those gold editions. Truly the best way to pay for something part of Disney & gaming history.
Yeah this comment singlehandedly changes my perspective on Disney Infinity, because honestly was interested by the idea but was surprised there were any fans at all for the series.
Tbh, this is the truth right here. Borderline forever is a movie, this is an extended episode and I am LOVING it. Scott hit it out of the ballpark this time, I lost my composure at the waiting room at the dentists office...
The fact that I didn’t know that this was for a make a wish kid is a testament to the fact that not only did he make an hour (almost) long episode but I doesn’t seem cheap or less quality, it’s up at the same quality as all his other episodes and nearly double the time, all for a make a wish kid this proves that Scott really cares if it wasn’t already obvious
48:52 my dad was out of a job because he worked for Disney and they were actually super close to finishing the game when it got cancelled which was pretty frustrating for most people working on it. It has a complete Moana playset included and some Black Panther stuff if I remember correctly. He's now working for Warner Brothers and worked on Cars: Driven to Win.
It was a mistake for Disney to make this an annual franchise. 2.0 made sense as a next-gen upgrade, but after that they should just focus on releasing figures and campaigns.
@@Golemoid It's kind of like the approach Harmonix took with Rock Band, after seeing how quickly Activision took their original vision (Guitar Hero) and drove it deep and hard into the ground. The influx of music games with plastic instrument controllers at the time was getting exhausting for people. And recognizing this, they decided Rock Band 4 is the last game, and they'll just keep supporting it with new music and updates as long as they can. So that all you need is the instruments for the current console you have it for, instead of needing new stuff every year.
@@LordPichuPal I remember that the moment disney announced their Toys-to-life-game people were already tolling the bell for the death of the genre, because it was such a similar situation to the whole Plastic-tat-rhythm-game thing that happened like the _week_ before.
As a speedrunner of the skylanders series… watching this is an experience. Glitches go crazy in the first two games especially. There are tons of ways to jump, clip through walls, and warp between coordinates! Fixes the boredom of slow paced simple gameplay too.
I am curious, what is speedrunning these games like? Skylanders was pretty obviously a big part of my childhood. I could never speedrun a toys to life game. I would just sit there crying of nostalgia.
@@randomnerd5913 speedrunning these games in my opinion is very fun. For a fan, I think the best thing about speedrunning these games is the variety of skylanders used, and the glitches that only specific skylanders can do
@@randomnerd5913 The speedruns are mostly movement tricks, with a few glitches here and there, as well as figuring out ideal boss fights. We at the Skylanders speedrunning community think they're great speedgames, and even if you don't have all the necessary figures for some glitches you can still use who you do have for a competitive time.
Why is no one talking about Scott willingly destroying his wall for a joke that plays out in 5 seconds at 6:16? This man's dedication for these videos is gigantic!
it's edited in, that's why they don't show the full clip of him destroying the wall in the video, he doesn't actually do it, and you're able to notice that no movement happens around the part where the wall's destroyed.
this is his second that I can think of. Last one was a kid who wanted to meet scott and they did a zoom call. Its in his community tab if you scroll back far enough.
I’ve only ever played “Skylanders: Imaginators” out of all of these titles, but Scott’s not kidding about that initial feeling of magic when the toys leap to life on your screen. The sound design and music (thank you, Lorne Balfe!) of the series really adds to that as well!
My favorite thing from Skylanders isn't the gameplay (it's cool but not ground-breaking), it's the atmosphere, the roaster of character, KAOS and of course, the music that I still listen to this day !
If you ever decide to play any other skylander game for whatever reason I recommend Giants because it was great in my opinion, though that may be because it was my first one.
@@ZeroSensed giants was also my favorite. I only played the first 3 games, but personally I think giants was the best of those 3. It was strangely the most charmingly atmospheric one, and while graphically the 3rd looked better, I still remember most of the levels from giants.
I really wish we could get the whole series now in a collection without the need of figures on steam. Sadly Activision doesn’t have any interest in anything that won’t make a bang for the buck.
Scott I’ve watched every one of ur videos multiple times, I love them so much. Whenever I was sad or happy I always watch your videos. Thank you for always being there for me, I’m so glad I started watching you.
I grew up with the Skylanders series, it was the first game I ever played. I know it's simple, but I still think it's a lot of fun, and the series will always hold a place in my heart
38:59 - 39:06 Oddly enough, this principle applies to other actions, flushing the toilet sounds like "This game blows!", and people on life-support constantly hear the words "THIS WAS JUST A BREADBOX!" It was incredibly nice of Scott to dedicate this video to Zak, not only that, but this video's almost an hour long as well, and it's really enjoyable throughout!
I remember the excitement when I first tried out Skylanders. Collecting all the figurines for the first game really felt special and I remember that I would always put new skylanders on my wishlist for birthday and christmas. But as years passed you could quickly see how it turned into a money sink more than anything else. And developers (looking at you Disney) only cared about making a profit off of the Toys to Life concept. It was great while it lasted, thank you Skylanders. :)
I had fun with the game, but looking back if it wasn’t the greediest concept. Also I will never forgive activision for throwing Spyro in there like he couldn’t solo everyone there. Not that it didn’t work. The Legend of Spyro Trilogy was my childhood and I legit only got into skylanders thinking it was a direct sequel/the next era to Spyro’s story. I can still feel the disappointment…
Little surprised this wasn't the Christmas episode, the length, amount of stuff to talk about, skit and song potential for this topic felt through the roof. It's really cool that Scott did this for Zak though, it feels just as monumental as the special season start and end episodes. Really excited to see whatever we end up getting for Christmas this year!
Ok but I just realized, aren't tabletop games like Warhammer just the EXACT same but the figurines have a physical use. I'm fairly certain that if you take another commenter's statement that they shouldn't have done yearly releases, add in a collector's and physical reason to buy the figurines (also make them cheaper, like $4 or $5 max), and don't fall into the Skylander's money pit/trap, and a couple of other aesthetic, design, and content changes, you could theoretically revive the genre to an extent.
Only the start of activision's greediness + yearly games for more cash. We never realized this when the games were popular we just bought them and played. They were like fortnite where everyone just wanted to collect them all(except real life not in game). Also the definition of pay to win.
Yeah and with how the story ended with Kaos being in a position where he can't really escape might be an way of them showing that Skylanders Imaginators was them saying good bye to the series just in case the game didn't do well.
I still have Spyro from giants and crash on my shelf along with donkey kong im still trying to find bowser cause un ironically I think that bowser design is cool
They were working on a script for skylanders 7 but they couldn't since kaos was trapped and they were too lazy to make a new villian so it wasnt meant to be a goodbye
I will say this about Skylanders, they had a lot of guts and creativity to go all out and created a billion dollar franchise while being a totally independent IP. Lego Dimensioned and Disney Infinity were replying on heavily established franchises and worlds to sell their toys, but Skylanders started from nothing except for Spyro's name and somehow managed to create an entire universe. Like I can't even imagine how many resources went into creating the 32 original characters and the 100+ characters that came after that. Scott was a bit harsh on their looks and names but to kids who played this game when it came out, these Skylanders were the newest iteration of Pokemon. Every single Skylander looked so different and played so different with unique attacks and abilities. You didn't have to get them all, but as a kid, you sure felt like you did and they really made the game come alive. It was not just a forgettable kids game, it was a solid story that you played through with heroes that you chose to play as. I got a sizable number of Skylanders and no two ever felt like copies or even mimics, they were all incredibly distant and such joys to play as. And being able to play as different characters was replay value all in itself and well worth the 10 dollar price tag. This level of quality stayed consistent across all the games and the backwards compatibility was beyond compare. For the figure you got in 2011 to be just as valuable and playable as a figure you got in 2016 was applaudable in a very mark. Overall, I will always have very fond memories or Skylanders, the best toys to life game without a doubt. They started with nothing but, through crazy marketing, characters, and quality control, managed to create something that every kid who lived in the early 2010 will remember. There really was a magic to the early toys to life and will always be grateful that Skylanders let me experience that.
Skylanders was honestly so dope as a kid and did give you that feeling that each of your characters was really your own. So each win or level felt more personally impactful, it’s crazy how they twisted our minds 😭
This is a seriously high-quality video, and it's a full hour long at that! Major props to Scott for dedicating this video to Zak, Make-A-Wish is such an incredible foundation
Dex is a legend, he has a steady business and can turn from 14 to 7?! Jokes aside, it's sweet to see Zak made a great wish to be featured with you as well as have a great idea for a video, stay strong Zak!!!!
This guy is SO nice, he did this hour-long episode for a Make-A-Wish kid, he has been a part of multiple charity events, and a hilarious TH-cam channel .
My family loves the game. My sister and I spent so much time in the Sandbox mode and we asked for a new figures for Christmas as late as 2018 because we wanted to play the Finding Nemo levels in 3.0
I grew up with skylanders. I have to say, asking your parents for a skylander on the way home and driving home with it on a warm summer evening waiting in anticipation to play it when you get home is not beat by much in terms of nostalgia.
Oh man this was a trip down memory lane for me since I worked at a Toys R Us while I was in college and got to live through the toys to life craze at its peak. The games were fine but you could tell that it was just a prettied up version of micro transactions that kids were crazy about, parents hated, and made our lives miserable due to how confusing it was to keep track of all the different figures and games that they did/didn’t work on. I still look back on it fondly though, I guess. There was this divorced dad who used to take his really shy son there on Saturday’s to pick out a new sky lander every so often that I got to know well and genuinely miss talking to sometimes. He was a swell dude and I even remember him bringing me a cup off hot cocoa once as a thank you for always recognizing him and being nice to his son
Hold up… how old was this kid? Because in 2013 my dad would always take me and my really young brother to toys r us after my swim training and a guy who worked there would talk to me about what figures I wanted. And my dad bought him coffee once to say thanks…
Sky landers was probably one of my fondest gaming memories, as a 9 to 10 year old kid watching the figures basically become real in the game was like magic. The smile that was on my face when I experienced that for the first time was probably as big as the sun
Yeah man their was something magical (pun not intended) about playing Skylanders at that age I think the Giants figures were really cool since when you put them on the portal their eyes lit up.
I played giants a lot with my friend but didn’t actually own it. The only ones I actually own are the original and trap team. I don’t really know why but after the first game I didn’t have much interest in the others, I just kept playing the first. Then I decided to get trap team just to see something new and while it was good nothing beats the first one for me
Yea my first game was swap force and it was fun, but then later that year I asked for trap team for Christmas and was totally hooked. I bought a new sky lander every chance I got and remember my mom driving to a GameStop an hour away to get me a kaos trap at retail price. Those were the days. I played a n my Wii U
From what I understand about Disney Infinity from interviews, one of the main reasons there weren't crossovers is because it was a paperwork nightmare. People think licensing Disney stuff is bad outside of the company, but apparently it's just as bad inside as well. I remember a developer essentially saying it would be easier to license Michael Jackson's likeness for a one-off character he did for Disney than it would be to get a specific version of Mickey Mouse.
Considering Sora had to skip Smash 4 despite winning its ballot and Yoshi-P (lead dev of FF14) wants absolutely fucking nothing to do with Kingdom Hearts, *yeah.*
14:53 Someone should make a game in the style of Toys For Life (but maybe without actual toys, but just have them ingame, and make you unlock them by playing it) and have characters like the swap-force characters. It's such a fun mechanic. Imagine what you could do nowadays with such an idea. Yes a big part of the charm was that you actually swapped the parts in real life, but even then
There was a game called Starlink: Battle for Atlas they essentially did this. It was a space ship exploration action game that was extremely modular. You chose your pilot, your ship base, your wings, and your weapons, all of which you would actually put together in real life. The Nintendo switch version even had Starfox in the game, with the campaign story itself even being different and integrating Starfox characters into it. And, on top of that, when you scanned in your various ship parts, you would then be able to go into your menu and switch between parts you had scanned in without needing to constantly take apart and swap the physical toy if you felt like it. They even had the ability to let you just buy digital versions of the toy parts, allowing you to play the entire game without ever actually having to own one of the toy ships. It was a really cool concept for a game that unfortunately came out during the death of toys to life as a concept. In many ways I consider it to be the last big attempt at a toys to life game. It's massive sales failure made it pretty clear that toys to life as an era if gaming was over, and that not even a game that technically was a long awaited sequel to Starfox could change that.
As a guy born 2004, I believe that Skylanders defined a big part of the people born in the mid 2000's. It was THE game people played because of a concept that we thought should not be possible. Together with probably Lego Star Wars and New Super Mario Bros. it is one of the top three games I played on the Wii and I still listen to the soundtrack, and so does many of my friends.
Honestly the original entry's soundtrack was exceptional. Very good game as well, it's just the shady concept that puts me off, even if the gameplay makes it make sense and keeps everyone balanced, besides that one rock type dragon that could roll around and kill everything.
I feel like the problem with Skylanders was that the games were coming out once a year. If they were spread out more, then it would've helped to feel more fresh
It's the same problem that killed Guitar Hero, funnily enough another Activision franchise. Instead of taking their time with releasing new games to not only ensure quality, but to prevent their demographic from getting burnt out on new entries with their own new toys to buy, they annualized it and milked it until they not only ran the franchise into the ground, but the entire genre it started, just like their idiotic "let's release ten Guitar Hero games in the span of a year" practice that killed the music sim genre.
honestly yearly franchises (other than sports ones) always end up feeling very similar. like assassins creed nearly got fucked over because they kept releasing mediocre games annually lmao
Fun fact, Disney has actually started selling *actual toys* that have the Disney infinity style, of course it’s not the same as having an infinity 4.0 but it’s still pretty neat to see new Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars characters in that style.
@@chiphand yep, someone has bought the rights to the name and is making Toys ᴙ Us into a mostly online shop, but they are bringing back some physical ones too. This is only in the UK though. The yanks are fucked, for now anyway.
Well, the Giants/SSA portals wouldn’t work with SWAP Force due to the portal needing to be able to read both halves of the SWAP Force figures, and Trap Team needed the speaker and trap slot, and Superchargers… needed to be big. Imaginators’ portal was basically a better SWAP Force portal, but it’s clear that the first 2 portals wouldn’t work at all.
I think one of the main appeals of skylanders is just kids liking the character designs. The individual characters also made easy gifts for relatives to pick out once the child had the game
They had good gameplay too. Scott said they are button mashers, but try playing on higher difficulty without dying. It could get pretty intense for a "kids" game.
Knowing that Scott did a Make-A-Wish fills me with so much joy; Zak was so lucky to have met someone as wonderful as you. Major kudos and blessings to you both, man!
You forgot to mention the absolute coolest part of imaginators: there was a phone app that let you make your skylander, and you could actually pay to get a full Model 3D printed and sent to your house, and it even worked as a Skylander. Even if Imaginators itself was kinda lame, it was by far the coolest thing I ever saw a toys to life game do. Also the Skykanders Netflix series is surprisingly good.
Idk the netflix series always annoyed me, the humor was just too childish and dumb. Then again, maybe it’s just because my younger brothers wouldn’t stop watching it on repeat
such a packed episode. i loved seeing more of scotts new living space, it looks so much bigger! and seeing zak as a make-a-wish guest star was really sweet
While I completely agree that the whole Toys to Life craze was a total cash-grab, I'll always have very fond memories of going to my cousin's house to play Skylanders Swap-Force with his fully complete (at the time) collection. For some reason neither of us could beat the final boss so we just kept burning through every single character in the game until we finally did it with only about 5 left. Good times.
I grew up when Skylanders was popular, but I have no fond memories of it. I just remember it being that annoying game that nobody would shut up about. My taste in video games was Lego Star Wars and Half-Life 2 on the Xbox lmao
I remember playing trap team with my cousin with his hundreds of skylanders, and when he went to college he gave them to 5 year old me. It was magical.
Back when imaginators was around, there was actually an app that let you transfer the data from the skylander you made over to the app, so you could have it sent in to be made into an actual figure, but I believe it was very pricy though so I don't think many people used it.
“I have two birthdays” Oh my god. Scott just fixed his own continuity “error”. In the Mario Party video, Rex said his birthday was on January 27, but in Borderline Forever he said his birthday was “today”. It could have easily been assumed Borderline took place on January 27, but no. Scott went out of his way to address this and I respect that SO MUCH!
I think that there was definitely some merit to the toys for life formula. Like Scott said, it definitely seemed magical placing a Skylanders game on the portal and watching him pop up in the game. To kids, these characters were really being transported from the real world to the game. This definitely does seem more magical than a character selection screen, but if a family to buy every single character, it was way overpriced.
The most sad part about disney infinity is that they were planning a disney infinity 4 where the story mode was playable with different characters from different universes only for them to shut down before the could ever announce anything.
When i was younger, i already really liked what Disney Infinity was going for and so did a lot of others So imagine an actual story mode where every character from the past 3 iterations can interact with each other, that would've blown almost everyone away
They also cancelled an update for 3.0 which was gonna add new characters, a playset and... an almost finished Peter Pan figure. If you got your hands on a prototype it would react, it just requires a nonexistant update
Yeah, Disney saw the fad fading so they decided not to release it and even shut down the studio altogether, which was kind of dumb so they chose a pretty good time to stop making them
4.0 would have been the best version, simply because crossover restrictions had been removed, play anyone, anywhere. Also perpetually annoyed the Moana playset&figures were lost because Disney ended the game just as the Development studio was about to put them into mass production.
Disney infinity is a prime example of how to do a toys to life game while being hellbent on protecting all of your IPs. They don't want Jack Sparrow interacting with Cars or Frozen because it ”would be bad for them”
Real talk, this is everything I've ever wanted from Scott's videos. Scott and his friends, all comfortable and confident in their acting and comedic styles. It's great! They've all improved so much
The best was having him integrated into the story and cutscenes will full voice acting so he didn't seem like an out of place guest character that's just there magically.
I started collecting them about a year ago, once I found out how cheap they all are at this point. I even bought it for both the Switch and PS4 just to get both default ships. I currently have 6 ships, 9 pilots and a bunch of weapon packs. And they make a nice display when I'm not using them. It's actually a pretty good game. Certainly the best Star Fox game in years.
I bought and enjoyed Starlink on Switch digital with no toys. Can confirm it's a pretty good game. You can fly into and out of planet's atmospheres. I was not expecting that from a Switch title.
This man really just stomped on an entire LEGO set for a throwaway line. Scott's commitment to having the things and then fucking the things up never ceases to amaze. How does someone even become a collector that then also is cool with destroying parts of their collection, usually people who collect get heartattacks when there's a fold in the packaging.
As a game collector, I only care about the packaging (creases, water damages, wear and tear, etc.) if I like the game or series too much. Otherwise, I don't really care how it looks as long as it works. I think the same logic applies here, because come on, these are toys to life. These are sturdy enough to withstand being stepped and played by children. For the other games and items from previous skit, he probably has duplicates, or has extra cases that he can put in print out covers.
@@off-the-grounder568 You're not gonna fix the pieces that get actually broken. I had some pieces I broke as a kid on accident, even the cleanest of super glue attempts leave it looking clearly broken.
Here's the odd thing, people who grew up with these, including my friends, are getting nostalgic for these figurines now, and are trying to collect them. Mark my words, within the next 5 to 8 years, they're probably gonna make an attempt to bring back Skylanders for those who are nostalgic for them as well as the kids who idolize adults and what they're into, hence a huge audience for at least 1 new game.
it'll probably be a live service game, instead of pumping out sequels they can just keep adding new waves of skylanders figures for one game, keeps it simple for the market and makes an easy money machine
@@chaliceohearts4658 i sold all of mine (probably like 80 figures) for like £50 if even that. looking back on it I regret it so much, i probably wouldn't have done anything with them but goddamn it that was my collection and i was proud
The interesting thing about Disney Infinity is that when it was cancelled, they reused a lot of the new, unreleased designs, and past figures, as poseable action figures under a line called “Toy Box”. They had characters like Genie, Goofy, Peter Pan, Moana, all of which have had data and development progress for them discovered for 4.0. They still make them today I think.
Oh! Fun fact. I have a star lord one, but I lost his guns and some of the paint is chipped. I got it at a Disney shop in Tucson at a mall. I was 7 when I got it.
I'm 19 so my brother and I were the perfect age for skylanders when that first came out. The figures are collecting dust now but we definitely got our moneys worth of playtime with those little toys
I don't know which ones you had, but I bought them for my nephew when he was real young to play with him and have kept them as a keepsake and recently looked on eBay and some of them are worth serious money. Especially trap team and imaginators
From watching this, this actually MADE ME revisit Skylanders for not just the nostalgia, but to beat EVERY game (except for Giants since I don't own it) on Nightmare difficulty. Thank you for bringing my childhood back to life!

That is dope. I might go buy 3.0 and attempt to relive my childhood.

It has a complete Moana playset included and some Black Panther stuff if I remember correctly. He's now working for Warner Brothers and worked on Cars: Driven to Win.
It was a mistake for Disney to make this an annual franchise. 2.0 made sense as a next-gen upgrade, but after that they should just focus on releasing figures and campaigns.
ive been looking in to it out of nostalgia and there is a massive community dedicated to this game. i wonder what it could have been like
@@Golemoid It's kind of like the approach Harmonix took with Rock Band, after seeing how quickly Activision took their original vision (Guitar Hero) and drove it deep and hard into the ground. The influx of music games with plastic instrument controllers at the time was getting exhausting for people. And recognizing this, they decided Rock Band 4 is the last game, and they'll just keep supporting it with new music and updates as long as they can. Glitches go crazy in the first two games especially. There are tons of ways to jump, clip through walls, and warp between coordinates!
Fixes the boredom of slow paced simple gameplay too.

@@randomnerd5913 speedrunning these games in my opinion is very fun. For a fan, I think the best thing about speedrunning these games is the variety of skylanders used, and the glitches that only specific skylanders can do

Trap team = 👑 (also the best skylander blaster tron was added is a villain but came out as a figure in imaginators)
@@ZeroSensed giants was also my favorite. I only played the first 3 games, but personally I think giants was the best of those 3. It was strangely the most charmingly atmospheric one, and while graphically the 3rd looked better, I still remember most of the levels from giants.

Amen

wasn't the first one "Spyro's Adventure"?
I will still forever hold contempt towards them for using Spyro's name as a marketing shell.

Dammit, now I want a Captain EO figurine...
Really makes it a shame the 4th game didn't come out. It's main story was going to be the big crossover.

Together with probably Lego Star Wars and New Super Mario Bros. it is one of the top three games I played on the Wii and I still listen to the soundtrack, and so does many of my friends.

The fact skylanders convinced us the old portals wouldn’t work, when they absolutely should have is wild

I vividly remember stealing my friend’s skylanders book with a bunch of info on the characters and feeling so bad for it
You forgot to mention the absolute coolest part of imaginators: there was a phone app that let you make your skylander, and you could actually pay to get a full Model 3D printed and sent to your house, and it even worked as a Skylander.
Ok, that's amazing. Also there's a tv show? Didn't know that.

Good times.
At least the things bought are tangible.
I grew up when Skylanders was popular, but I have no fond memories of it. I just remember it being that annoying game that nobody would shut up about. My taste in video games was Lego Star Wars and Half-Life 2 on the Xbox lmao

Back when imaginators was around, there was actually an app that let you transfer the data from the skylander you made over to the app, so you could have it sent in to be made into an actual figure, but I believe it was very pricy though so I don't think many people used it.

Oh my god.

@@theruoc147 he said he was gonna die in three years in dollar store gaming
Oh no.

😔 Yea. I agree.
When i was younger, i already really liked what Disney Infinity was going for and so did a lot of others
So imagine an actual story mode where every character from the past 3 iterations can interact with each other, that would've blown almost everyone away
14:46 I think this is the first time I've ever seen Scott showing actual enthusiasm and enjoyment towards a video-game gimmick

Disney infinity is a prime example of how to do a toys to life game while being hellbent on protecting all of your IPs. They don't want Jack Sparrow interacting with Cars or Frozen because it ”would be bad for them”
They can interact with anime style characters though
This is why I liked LEGO Dimensions, if I wanted to drive the Batmobile with a Gremlin through a Back To The Future level I could.

Yuck yuck!
At least we got Donald in game 2.
I collected all of the STARLINK toys because I loved playing the game with Fox McCloud.
I bought the digital versions when I saw that was an option
Gorey, You are a legend. Sgt. Pepper was framed. Long live the Lylat System.
I bought and enjoyed Starlink on Switch digital with no toys. Can confirm it's a pretty good game.

"Anything labeled as a toy at Spencer's gifts" "not showing those" the quick humor and jokes are so good
This man really just stomped on an entire LEGO set for a throwaway line.
It’s a Lego set. It can be fixed. The real problem is that his way of destroying it was stepping on it.
I still hold on my Mr. Incredible figurine.
It looks cool. And I watched The Incredibles more than the average human being.
it'll probably be a live service game, instead of pumping out sequels they can just keep adding new waves of skylanders figures for one game, keeps it simple for the market and makes an easy money machine

They definitely do and I think it’s a great idea I loved the style Infinity had so I’m glad they didn’t just ditch it
Looks like they're still being sold, but I think they stopped making new ones in-between Toy Story 4's release and the launch of Disney+.
