This video really makes me realize that the Kid Icarus series really more support. The first game was good, but understandably not too popular. I hear nothing about the second game on Game Boy. And I managed to beat Uprising on my first try without hand cramps. (Seriously, the second half of Sonic Lost World 3D made my hands cramp much more and it has a far more standard control scheme) The series is heavily underrated, and I implore people to give it a shot.
Of Myth and Monsters is an improvement over the NES original in every conceivable way, aside from being in the most iconic console that produced absolutely nothing iconic of its own, even in already-established franchises, besides Pokémon. For instance, the camera always follows Pit, so the platform you were standing on 5 seconds ago isn't turned into an, ehem, botomless _pit_ just because you went a bit higher up on the screen.
Having played both Sonic Lost World on 3DS and Kid Icarus Uprising myself I honestly think Uprising is worse just because I can actually hold my console with both hands.
Out of the many people I’ve watched over the years I have to say Scott really is a hidden gem in the vast ocean of TH-cam channels, every video is quality and so interesting
3D Sonic the Hedgehog was shockingly enough the way I beat it for the first time. I'm glad both the 3D Classics and the Virtual Console were the reasons I started getting into retro games.
I freaking love TwinBee, wouldn't have discovered it without 3d classics. No joke, my 3ds play time says I've played it for over 50 hours. Only RPGs have more play time on my system
I have Kid Icarus through the preorder. It really is as good as you say, and it’s amazing how something as theoretically inconsequential as adding background art makes the game feel far more special. Imagine how amazing the original Metroid would have felt with that kind of background insertion.
2:25 Endless Ocean is actually dope and one of the best games from the Wii. It's so precious and at least a life changing experience for me, I totally recommend you giving it a try, and also its sequel Endless Ocean Blue World. Also, Arica is the name of the northernmost Chilean City. Pretty simmilar to Arika
I was a little kid when Blockbuster died, my dad bought endless ocean blue world for me from their going out of business sale, I at that point have ever heard of the game, even to this day I barely hear anything about it. First grade me loved the heck out of it, I genuinely probably sunk at 70 hours into that game. I never actually beat it because I got stuck on a part with a squid in a cave, even after I got stuck I still just played the same levels over and over again, That game was great.
Man Sega 3D classics and the retail cartridge Sega 3D classics where freakin amazing the pinnacle example of how to do classic 3D games right! M2 killed it
My mind bugs out thinking about how this is the closes Scott has been of making a video about Endless Ocean, I'd really adore more people to get to discover those amazing games, and a video from Scott would definitely prompt them up in popularity
Hey Scott. Doubt you’ll see this. I’m a nerd your age with the same quirks when it comes to games. I loved Xevious, I used to play it all the time on a namco plug and play. I could never remember it's name though, so thank you Scott for helping me rediscover a favorite childhood game of mine.
I remember thinking one time that the NES was the best system because of all of the classic games. I later realized most of the games are bad, its all about the 2600 man, gotta appreciate them. What's this "Magnavox" thing?
HEY! 3d classics is how I discovered twinbee, which is one of my absolute favorite games, and if it wasn't a 3d classic when I was in middle school, I might've never discovered it.
I kinda wish Nintendo & Akira made more of these... As one of the few whom actually enjoyed the 3DS's 3D feature, I felt it actually benefited some games. Kirby & Kid Icarus actually were made easier, because the 3D effect helped the platforms pop out of the background, improving gameplay. The 3D also helped you gauge distance better in Mario Kart 7, and StarFox64 3D, so it actually improved gameplay for me. It's a shame not everyone gave it a chance.
I remember buying all the 3d classics in the early days of the 3ds. Those and the ambassador program were my games for a good chunk of time til the 3ds finally took off. Some of my favorite memories of 3ds
I was just watching the behind the scenes of borderline forever and I just want to say, we do not deserve the effort and dedication you put into this channel
I like to imagine this line came about when Arika showed nintendo the 3d remake of urban champion and iwata was so touched that he let them make a few more before they burnt out on it
He may not have specified his music used for this episode, but I can confirm that one of the first songs is the main theme for the NES Classic home screen.
Although I first bought Kirby’s Adventure on the Wii, this was where I actually beat the game. Getting Excitebike for free was cool, but I agree it’s too bad they never did more. What they did make was solid.
When it came with the sega 3d collection Im just gonna say when you turn the 3d on, it looks amazing, like I remember turning on the 3d in Sonic 1 and was just blown away by the layering, and how the 3d effected it.
I love how you can tell at the start of the 3ds's life Nintendo was so proud of the 3d, talking about it constantly, but by the end they were just straight up removing it from half of the offerings

4:20 I'm an Ambassador. Got my 3DS at full price, got the retro games, and then got a price match at Best Buy when the price cut hit. I bought in at the right time.
Xevious will always hold a special place in my heart. I bought it as a kid, but I didn't have an NES, I had an Atari 7800. A system will a really poor game library. But the 7800 Xevious port was actually really good so it was one of the best games I had back then.

Out of the many people I’ve watched over the years I have to say Scott really is a hidden gem in the vast ocean of TH-cam channels, every video is quality and so interesting
22:12 Scott is extremely bold to show us this screen again considering what happened last time
Dammit tails!
Fucking Tails.
They did a compilation of games for the psp if you didn't know.
My favorite part is when he goes "Hey all, Scott here!"
Never gets old
I literally loathe that and hope we go back to the future time where saying “hey all Scott here” is banned ;)
Yeah best part
I’m a “Hey Ya’ll, Scott here” stan
Same
Honestly I was expecting glasses-free Scott to look weirder, he looks fine
Same
I have Kid Icarus through the preorder. It really is as good as you say, and it’s amazing how something as theoretically inconsequential as adding background art makes the game feel far more special. Imagine how amazing the original Metroid would have felt with that kind of background insertion.
Same here, I tried to play through it a bunch but never really committed to it
2:25 Endless Ocean is actually dope and one of the best games from the Wii.
I love that game! probably one of my favorite wii titles
I cant wait for this episode to be remastered in 3d on the new Nintendo 3ds!
Yeah same!
that was fast
Bro I’ve been waiting forever!
Man Sega 3D classics and the retail cartridge Sega 3D classics where freakin amazing the pinnacle example of how to do classic 3D games right! M2 killed it
Watching Scott is an experience that can’t be explained with words
I didn't even expect him to upload
How about “funny” or “informative”
Or “Gex” or something
@@samueld8413 I’d use legendary
@@Blanks8 How 'bout addicting
My mind bugs out thinking about how this is the closes Scott has been of making a video about Endless Ocean, I'd really adore more people to get to discover those amazing games, and a video from Scott would definitely prompt them up in popularity
Hey Scott. Doubt you’ll see this. I’m a nerd your age with the same quirks when it comes to games. I’ve always loved your videos because shit I won’t make videos about the rips and kinkles games have. I’m glad you do that. I just wanna say, I lost my grandfather tonight and I’m so glad I can watch something that can bring me down to earth like this video. You may not read this comment or know, you are helping me out tonight. Thanks for being you and helping me bro.
I'm sending you love :( it's really hard to lose someone.
I loved Xevious, I used to play it all the time on a namco plug and play. I could never remember it's name though, so thank you Scott for helping me rediscover a favorite childhood game of mine.
The PS1 version of the game is really good and underrated. It's called Xevious 3D G+ and one of the most fun 2 player shooters I've ever played.
"I want old shit not good shit" -Every gamer at some point.
So true. I’ve played Warcraft 3 a lot and have never played WoW
Definitely went through that when I found out about the N64 and GBA
I want a box with Mario dammit!
As Scott once said, “the best thing to do when you’re 24 is to act like you’re 40”. I just bought a Sega Saturn because… some good reason I swear.
Instead of doing homework, I've been staring in awe that Scott took his glasses off.

I still have my 3D glasses from seeing it at the theater. They have not aged well in the slightest, but I still have them nonetheless.
Scott's jokes and delivery are getting consistently better and I have literally no idea how he does it
Scott: includes a shot of him without glasses
The whole of Reddit: WIP OUT THE PHOTOSHOP WE GOT MEMES TO MAKE!!!
Wonder what memes they're gonna make
Oh god
People already edited the glasses out before, but this video hits differently.
@@CoolerMike bad ones
The fact the games have a credits option to show almost no credits is amazing.
1:05 I never thought about it, but this is the first time I’ve seen Scott without glasses!
After a long hard and emotional day seeing Scott post literally made my day :) thank you Scott
i second this, i hope things get better for you!!

Geez Scott, quit flexing on how much of a Square Enix fan you are.
1:36 This and the time when he was talking about an MnM are my favorite moments in Scott the Woz.
"But what can it do?"

Scott without glasses is something I wasn’t ready for
I actually love Urban Champion, love the music in the background, and the animations I've literally owned it on most available platforms 😅
Same here. Never really understood the hate for that game. "It's basic and simple" yeah, just like almost all the other early NES/Famicom titles.
Scott, the only guy who can make an hour long game review and then make another video right after. Respect

Scott without glasses: 1:05
Scott really has the best ideas for videos. I’d love to see his notes.
Am I the only one that loved the 3D effect and always put it on. I never got headaches even after hours of playing.
Every Scott video (usually) revolves around a Nintendo topic but each feels different in their own right, I love it
Finally after over 200 episodes
We found Scott with no glasses!

I like to imagine this line came about when Arika showed nintendo the 3d remake of urban champion and iwata was so touched that he let them make a few more before they burnt out on it
He may not have specified his music used for this episode, but I can confirm that one of the first songs is the main theme for the NES Classic home screen.
Scott really got me up at 2am to learn about 3d classics and im not even disapointed.
Although I first bought Kirby’s Adventure on the Wii, this was where I actually beat the game. Getting Excitebike for free was cool, but I agree it’s too bad they never did more. What they did make was solid.
“Ugh, fine”

When it came with the sega 3d collection Im just gonna say when you turn the 3d on, it looks amazing, like I remember turning on the 3d in Sonic 1 and was just blown away by the layering, and how the 3d effected it.
I remember getting the Kid Icarus 3D Classics on my 2DS and adjusting the in-game 3D slider to see if it made a difference...
Man I’d be scared as hell to get a “Hey All, Scott here” in 3D. It’d be like he’s actually here.

I love how you can tell at the start of the 3ds's life Nintendo was so proud of the 3d, talking about it constantly, but by the end they were just straight up removing it from half of the offerings
Pov: you haven't finished the video yet but you know, cause it's a scott the woz video,it'll be a banger

seeing scott without glasses is one of the most curse things I ever seen
Xevious will always hold a special place in my heart. I bought it as a kid, but I didn't have an NES, I had an Atari 7800. A system will a really poor game library. But the 7800 Xevious port was actually really good so it was one of the best games I had back then.
15:01 ah shit here we go. I really don't think Scott knows it's a slur, he's the most respectful youtube dude I know. Please twitter, don't be an asshole.
I’m torn because it has been known to be an offensive term for a while now. Google instantly brought up articles going back to 2009 trying to raise awareness of micro aggressions against the Romani people.
@@devinblackwood5885 Have you seen that video "Scott The Woz - The N word"? His reaction to the OP says a lot about his character-- he's awkward, a good guy nonetheless. At the very least, he wasn't using it IN reference to Romani people, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he really did just make a fucky wucky and he'll probably apologize for it.
Fuck that reminds me I have a story, this particular event was more than twenty years ago now, my mom said she and my dad used to tell my older brother who was a lil shit that if he didn't stop being a lil shit they'd sell him to the gypsies. One day they're on a walk and some Muslim people are walking toward them and my brother starts crying "It's the gypsies!!!", because they were wearing different clothing and he was probably four at the time. Now THAT is some shit bad luck. Luckily the Muslim people my brother were scared of were really kind and laughed about it, my mom and dad were super mortified and stopped saying that. In their defense this was pretty well before 2009, but at the same time it was still super fucked for my parents to say something like that to my brother haha no wonder we're both fucked up
@@devinblackwood5885 I don't think the majority of people know of it, especially seeing how it's only barely brought up here. Scott knows now though (and so do I now) and hopefully some other people will know now after looking at his pinned comment.
Gypsy is not a slur. This shit is dumb
@@jvnxiie2441 the Romani people would disagree with you and it’s their region to make, not yours.
Yes, those shoot em ups are definitely loved in japan, the game otomedius shows this off perfectly as the characters of the story are all "waifus" that come from other worlds to work together to help the decedent of Vic viper, ones from twin bee world , xavius , castlevenia , life force, and like 4 others later on. I never understood what the deal was till someone visiting from Japan(miku event in my area) explained it to me, she had a key chain of the main character so asked an MAAAAAAAAAN did she fangirl about the series.
Been waiting for this ever since Scott mentioned the 3D Classics version of Urban Champion.
That “Damn.” at 16:40 makes me roll every time
