As a rockets fan I’ll be tuning into suns games more often, based off kd’s and book’s Olympic performances they should be a contending team. they have the top end talent but Beal & their depth is very questionable
Allen was the highest percentage 3 point shooter, plumlee can guard bigs, bol bol might have a breakout year, royce o Neale is an above average 3 and d guy and our rookie, Ryan Dunn is the best defender in this draft class.

The suns will be better, they got better ball handlers and if Beal comes off the bench they’ll be a great lineup against any team who isn’t excessively big. I think they can match up with any teams in the west outside of Denver and Minnesota
I’m honestly surprised the Suns haven’t been a more discussed topic among NBA TH-camrs. Phoenix is 1000% a dark horse contender. Last season was pitiful, in all aspects. But the roster is so much better this year, and yes I’m saying that even though their only additions are Mason Plumlee, Tyus Jones and Monte Morris. They hired and new (and better) coach, they upgraded their backup center, and they added the two best playmaking PGs on the market that weren’t named “Chris Paul” But is Beal going to be healthy? Do the Suns have enough versatility? Will their offense have enough variety? All questions that need to be asked that can DERAIL the Suns season if not handled right. But Nurkic proved to be a glue guy on the court for the team, Beal proved he can be an effective 3rd option, and Book/Durant is still one of the best scoring duos we’ve ever seen. This is a very fascinating season incoming for Phoenix.
The west is just so stacked, it's hard to make a prediction. I mean my mavs just made it to the finals off of good fortune and awesome match ups but i can't say if we'll be back bc so much competition in the west.
I can't wait for everyone to step on the Phoenix rake for yet another year. This team is cooked. There's a higher chance of Durant requesting a trade midseason than them winning a playoff series. I don't know how many times this team has to fail before people admit the truth.

With any number of injuries (which are incredibly likely with their personnel) it'll be a miracle if they're in the playoffs.
KD has requested a trade once, I don't know where he gets this reputation. He left GS and OKC in free agency (well, they sign and traded, but he was a free agent). Only demanded a trade in Brooklyn after his co-stars quit.

I also don’t know how far a team whose defense is anchored by Nurkic can go unless Bud makes him into Brook Lopez v2 That being said, their depth is undoubtedly better. At the start of last year, the starting lineup was Book, Beal, Grayson Allen, KD, and Nurkic with a bench of Jordan Goodwin, Eric Gordon, Josh Okogie, Keita Bates-Diop, Yuta Watanabe, Bol Bol, and Drew Eubanks. Now, the bench is Monte Morris, Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neale, Bol Bol, and Mason Plumlee, not mentioning the rookies if they are gonna surprise (I doubt it).
I don't know THAT much about basketball but they seem to lack leadership on the floor. KD has admitted he doesn't want to be a leader, Booker needs to adopt that role but hasn't and Beal just seems like an expensive after thought.
Leadership happens behind the scenes. So people will always question that for the Suns unless they see KD or Book vocally screaming at players and reprimanding them. Everything doesnt have to be seen for it to be happening.
