for super mario kart, it was actually revealed that the identical tracks aren't because of hardware limitations. it was because of the strict time schedule the devs were placed under.
Source? Im interested
Isn't thete a rom hack being developed to add new themes and tracks
That's not true. The leaks from 2020 revealed they worked for more than a year on the game and often reworked their tracks.
@@Louis_Miles There's actually a scrapped Track named Choco Island 3, it would be removed in Favor of Rainbow Road likely due To developers wanting a unique Track.
@@TheQuickGoodie Yeah, there's a crazy amount of stuff in the leaks. Even the alpha version, which featured normal people instead of Mario characters, can be found in the leaks.
25:51 "It's just odd that this game didn't introduce anything new, whatsoever."

Bobomb was introduced in Double Dash, not 64. Just had to clarify.
You may have confused it with the bomb kart, where players that are defeated in battle mode *become* driving bombs which I totally forgot existed until this very moment.
A mechanic that existed for all of two games.
It could also be the VS mode how bombs would be on the track in certain spots
🤓👆
@@theradman9478but those were not the Bob ombs if you are referrung to 64
64 had those yellow bombs
8 Deluxe is the ultimate mario kart, and pretty close to being the complete mario kart. can't wait to see more.
I recently bought 8 deluxe.
It is the first Mario kart that gives me trouble winning in single player.
Except for when I was a little child normally I easily win every race.
Playing 8 I really suck. But I like it.
My favorite one is Wii nontheless.
This series means so much to me. The memories of playing MKDS and WII with friends for hours and hours. Then MK7 and 8 came out and we relived some of those memories, and to this day I still play those games. But when playing there's an unignorable feeling that those days will never come back, and the memories will forever be stored inside the games, but you can't just relive them. It's kinda of a bittersweet feeling
What does collecting coins do ? And how do you keep an item at the back of your kart for protection? Thanks my friend 🙂
Kudos for getting this massive project done, man! And thanks for inviting me to be a part of this :)
Jesus Christ the sovereign God loves you : ) You matter to Him
This was an amazing retrospective video. Thank you!
"We yet have kamik to be a playable character" (however you spell it)
MK8 Deluxe rn: Wave 5🔥
28:22 Just wanted to explain, these points are not used or calculated in the Grand Prix scoring, they're actually used to secretly calculate your ranking after the GP, much like the ranking system in future iterations (AKA getting triple star rank, NOT about getting first place). It even says on this image too. Hopefully this was informative and clears up some confusion.
Fantastic job with this enormous retrospective man! This video is terrific, and was such a fun watch that brought back tons of great memories for me. It's so cool to see the entire series covered like this. Seeing how it evolved over time and hearing your thoughts on each game was super enjoyable. I can imagine how much time and effort you put into this just from the runtime alone, and it totally paid off. Mario Kart is special, and you totally captured that! Glad to have been a small part of it!
Thank you for taking part! Your contribution was very much appreciated :)
The recommended page has blessed me with this masterpiece
Two notes:
1. Nintendo considers Mario Kart Tour as a mainline Mario Kart game. They’ve made this distinction clear since the moment the Booster Course Pass was announced. Kamek finally got to become a playable character thanks to Mario Kart Tour.
2. Characters in Super Circcuit have different internal scores because of the cup Ranking system, which goes as high as 3 stars, and requires mastery of all courses. Since Yoshi’s the best character in the game stat-wise, the developers knew to not give Yoshi a bonus, but the heavyweights, since they’re the hardest to control.
Overall, great video essay.
Dang it.
I really really REALLY liked Double Dash.
Knowing it’ll never be made again is soul crushing.
I don’t know why they wouldn’t do it again, it’s a universally beloved mechanic and bringing it back every 3 or 4 games seems reasonable to me. However, Nintendo hates its fans :(
Eh, I don't think it's unreasonable to think that they may pull out an HD version in the coming years. If you think about it, this coming November will make the game 20 years old. Would be wild if they just dropped it out of the blue.
@@RypticVODS this gives me hope. Thank you.
@@RypticVODSI think it will inevitably return as well! Just because I can't think of a way a potential Mario Kart 9 could improve upon 8.
If they just add more tracks/characters/car pieces then people will ask why they Nintendo didn't just add another DLC
Fair enough on stating your opinion on Tour early on. Nintendo however definitely consider it a mainline entry. If it weren’t, we wouldn’t be seeing courses from the game in the Booster Course Pass. Like, there’s a reason we don’t see any of the arcade tracks, because at its core, the arcade games are not core series. Tour on the other hand definitely is.
i don't consider tour mainline because the booster course pass is clearly to keep tour content alive since it's not a mainline game, i hope it makes sense
@@zemiguel8261 again, fair enough, but whether you consider it or not, it *is* a mainline game. Kamek being included in the BCP basically confirms this. Yes they’re pulling content from that game but they’re only taking things from the *actual* Mario Kart games. Again, the arcade games as an example are definitely not mainline.
@@Fruitman1997 kamek being in the bcp just confirms what i'm saying tho, since it's not mainline, they're porting everything to 8 which is a mainline game
the only reason they're doing this for your but didn't for the arcade games it's because it's nintendo that is working directly on tour
again, i understand why you think it is mainline but i personally don't agree
Man the most memorable track on DS for me was waluigis pinball. The soundtrack, the visuals, the giant pinballs. It truly is a masterpiece
Ooh yeah and my favourite battle mode map was definitely the big Cake map. It was the most chaotic and fun one imo. And you could even boost and jump through the middle
I remember thinking that mkds was so good looking and when i switched to mk7 i was blown away on how detailed it was. It’s so weird looking back after playing mk8 for years
Am I the only one who isn’t in love with MK8 deluxe, I feel like the series is straying farther & farther away from being Mario themed & moving closer to a smash ultimate esq. game with characters & tracks from other Nintendo IPs. To put it simply MK8 doesn’t feel like Mario kart, although I do like some of the new tracks, most feel bland & don’t feel like actual places in the Mario universe. Just my opinion but I think MKWii, MKDD & 7 are more memorable & fun, not to discount 8, which has a fantastic soundtrack & decent tracks but I feel the series has seen much better.
There is a MKWii community that they really hate mk8 /mk8dx. I'm part of the Community and we have our custom server to Play online since the official server shutdown
There are others. They're called autists
This video was amazing dude, but with Mario Kart Tour I understand that it’s not like a main console game, but it is part of the mainline games. Nintendo themselves had Tour alongside the other MK games in the 1st booster course pass trailer. They’re even adding their nitro courses, and they also brought back returning characters, adding new ones and even bringing back special items from Double Dash.
He simply doesn’t care about Tour. It’s not fair to call a game “not mainline” only for that reason. And saying it’s not mainline because it’s a phone game is irrelevant. Tour is mainline for 2 reasons, 1, it’s made by Nintendo, and 2, it’s in 8 deluxe now. But there will always be that level of MK fans who deny *one* game simply on the basis that they don’t enjoy it
Just because it's shown alongside other games does not make it a mainline entry. Also, with it being a game that seems to be a live service type, it'll shut down one day, and it won't even be a mainline entry at that point because it won't exist.
@@WritingCountingOriginal I don't consider it a mainline entry not just because it's a mobile game, but it's also not of the same quality and such as the mainline console games are. Like I said in another reply, it won't even be considered a mainline game after it shuts down, since it's a live service mobile game.
@@goldenninja9053 how is tour low quality
@@cetvrti_magi tours gameplay is just mario kart with smart steering and auto accelerate?
One thing to note, Kamek became playable in mario kart tour, but it wasn't super amazing because that game has pretty much every character ever. Now, it did recently get added to the mk8dx bcp wave 5, which is a much bigger deal, becauseit's the first time he has ever been playable in a console mario kart game, and his emblem was found in the game's files when it came out, meaning, they've wanted him when they were making it.
1:11:27 This whole part of Mario, kart 7 he didn’t mention of first person mode If you press up On your plus pad on the 3DS if you’re on the race then it give you first person mode
I know this has been covered a lot better than I will, but the reason the characters look so weird in 64 is because the characters are 2D on a 3D course. Because of the limitations of the N64, Nintendo couldn’t have active 3D models cause it took to much memory so instead they made a bunch of 2D images of each character and just made them follow the camera.
One way to see how hard the 3D environment is on the game is going to Calamari Desert. When there is only one player, the train is it’s full length, bu as you add more players the train cars start getting removed so the game can run smoothly, so at four players the train is only the front and the caboose.
@@lEricklI think you are confused on the meaning of 3D. The fact that Mario Kart 64 uses sprites it does not make it a pseudo 3D game like Doom. The reason for this is that the game operates on a 3D plan so the sprites move on a real 3D world so for example the sprites can technically be stacked one of the top of another while in a pseudo 3D game like Doom this wouldn't be possible. For example in Doom if an enemy is in a pit right below you it can still attack and damage you and you cannot pass over it's head. This happens because the game operates in a 2D plan so the depht and heights are an illusion since the characters moves on a 2D world. You can see by yourself that this is not the case of Mario Kart 64.
The "rubber band A.I." just makes you learn new tricks, character limitations and MAKES YOU RACE HARD! why would you want to just crush the COMP every time? what kind of fun is that dude?
Mario Kart 64's battle mode also has the bob-omb thing when a player is eliminated just like the GBA game.
This was such a good watch,so nostalgic and fun but really informative. I didn’t realize how much about these games I forgot, it makes me want to play them again. I like your narration a lot, you did well on the “thorough but not repetitive” thing you said at the beginning. Great video!!
This was such a great video.
Mario kart is a beautiful series. I’m so glad to see it evolve over the years and the classics still be so loved.
I didn't have a nintendo console growing up in 90s so only played some games at friends. I briefly played gba one but didn't love it.
DS I bought for Xmas 05 and was hooked. Its my 2nd fave after 8 and love it. I love the mission mode and would love to see it return one day.
Wii is my least fave. The move to 12 felt like there were way too many items being thrown at you, which would be improved later, and I never liked the wii remote. I always used the cube controller.
I’m sorry, but Kohana saying “Wiimote” instead of “Wii Remote” at 58:47 is worthy of praise. I know that that isn’t the point of this video, but MK Wii was my introduction to Mario Kart, and we always called the Wiimote exactly that. This video, too, is amazing. Getting to learn so much history! ☺️
Okay?
I can't believe I watched the whole video. Wow, amazing as usual! I'm glad that your content keeps getting bette. I thought your Metroid ones would be the ones with more views, I'm pleased you made it to almost 100k in one video! Congrats!
loved this! super down to earth and chill yet comprehensive and informative, I’ll definitely have to check out your other stuff
This guy deserves more support
mario kart 7 was my childhood game. a couple weeks ago i found my old 3ds and played it for the first time since i was like, 11, and it was even better than i remember, i’ve put hundreds of hours into 8 deluxe and even then i still think 7 is a masterpiece
Mario Kart 7 is the best Game in the Series with exact 1 bad Track (Toad Circuit)
I'm wondering why all the footage for Super Mario Kart are only of people who are really bad at the game. LOL
It's so odd to see someone NOT drift around a corner in MK games.
Yeah the fact that he said he rather not drift on N64 was so weird to me lol. It's like someone not used to the time.
Same😂
Great video man, your delivery when you were talking about N64 rainbow road had me in stitches
Outstanding video man, it’s always the lesser known channels that make the best content. Subscribed! Hope to see this channel thrive
Badass video! Love the ideas in double dash but I can't go back to how those karts handle
Thank you for such a wonderful retrospective! MK is definitely a series that plucks at my heart strings and gets me in the feels. Some of my best memories were spent in the basement of my folks house playing GP and battle mode all night with my best buddies during the holidays (even all day if the weather was shit)🥰
Just a pointer: It’s not the “eighth layer,” it’s the eighth mode that allows that background layer to rotate. Most modes have multiple bg layers; mode 7 only has the one single layer.
Ive recently been getting into MK8DX a lot and i fully agree with your thoughts. It looks phenomenal and all the tracks are so good. Also, the DLC so far have been great. It's really worth buying the expansion pass.
Really glad you shouted out the wii speedrun community and the modder tool. Those guys are so dedicated to the game its insane. Great video!
Great video! You have a bright future ahead of you if you decide to continue on this path. Good luck!
I’ll admit, this video was recommended to me for about a month before I watched it. I held off initially because I was a little intimidated by the runtime.
That said: when I finally grabbed some snacks and sat down to watch it, the time absolutely flew by. The video was impeccably done, great narration and insight into each of the games and what made them stand out from one another. Great work man. I regret waiting so long to watch this.
This felt like shortest 1hr 40 min TH-cam video ever, great job with the content and pacing!
Bro I have such a great memory with mount wario, specifically the final stretch! I remember racing my older brother on it in versus, this track would be the decider: I was barely in front of him going into this section, and the sheer panic of the situation of having to land all the mini turbos perfectly with your older brother on your heels was exhilarating! Yes I did win
That, along with 3AM snaking battles on DS and nailing perfect runs on Wii's Rainbow Road, are fond memories of my young adulthood.
I love long form retrospectives! 😍 Gna fall asleep good tonight 😴
Loved this video so much! Enough to become a subscriber to your channel
I’m excited to watch this, been thinking bout going back n playing thru some old Mario karts myself… bout to get hyped
What an incredible thumbnail. Just started the video but wanted to give props because wow!
TH-camR WHO DOESN’T THINK THAT MARIO 64 IS A FLAWLESS MASTERPIECE. W
Genuinely though, this video is very well-put-together, I can’t wait to check out what else you have
Great video! Loved the in-depth look on all of the games!
This was such a great vid! Lots of cool info for any MK fan
Awesome video, I love when creators allow the audience to hear the music they are describing
Notes for MK8D: Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, and Wiggler (a wacky addition to MK7) was added (albeit paid DLC). Therefore, the only “negative” about the game has now been removed!
I think the n64 rainbow road remake in mk8 is themed to a casino roulette game. I really like the restyling of these older tracks. Great video! I really really enjoyed it.
Great video. I love catching up on everything I missed.
I’ve always wanted something like this thank you
Great video, love hearing people look back on this amazing series. I will say that critic averages shouldn't be taken too seriously, and especially not reviews for stuff as far back as Super Circuit, since they're being reviewed in the frame of their release time
You know! That thumbnail on your video make me think how cool it is to have every version of Mario Kart sprites and models race against each other.
Nintendo! Make it happen! 😁
The closest thing to this is SNES Mario being in Mario Kart Tour, so it kinda happen?
I watched it all. amazing video keep it up!
A absolute masterpiece that deserves more attention. It perfectly show the beauty of the Mario kart series.
You need to jump against the ice blocks in Vanilla Lake to keep your speed.
Drifting is also actually pretty easy in SMK, most people just don't know the right button combinations.
Nintendo never explained the controls and other stuff in their manual, so there is a reason why many people struggle with SMK :P
Hey, its You again! :D
Mind telling how the Drifting works?
@@Tomato-Thunder Lol, you are everywhere.
Here you go:
Press L/R shortly while holding Left/Right to start the drift. Do not hold down L/R like you do in newer Mario Kart Games (except you want to drift sharp), only hold down the direction on your D pad. Press L/R again to end your drift.
You can also let go of the D pad to minimize your drift. Just don't forget to press L/R to end your drift.
Mario kart SNES is extremely nostalgic for me. It has a dream like feel to it as if I wasn't supposed to be playing it 😅. I remember racing my ghost over and over on the boo stage
Time for a long clarification of how drifting works in Mario Kart DS, and what "Snaking" is supposed to mean.
So in Mario Kart DS, the drifting isn't based on how long you hold down the drift but rather it builds up whenever you change you drift direction. In this game, you could hold down a drift in one direction for a literal whole decade and you still wouldn't be given a speed boost. Rather, you need to alternate your steering in order to build up a boost. To pull it off successfully, simply hold down right trigger and a directional input to start the drift (in this example, we are drifting right). Your drift will be dust clouds, and no speed boost is rewarded for releasing R. While you are drifting and holding right, switch your directional input to left for a little bit, enough that the character animation changes to them leaning the other way, and then return back to holding right. You should immediately receive a blue spark on your kart. Releasing the miniturbo at this point will NOT reward you with a speed boost unlike in later entries. To build up to the next level of miniturbo, simply repeat the process of holding right, pressing left for a bit, and then return to holding right once the left leaning animation completes. This will turn your blue miniturbo into a red/orange miniturbo. At this point in the drift, releasing R at any point will reward you with a minor boost of speed, the length of which is determined by your kart and character's stats with heavy characters generally receiving a tremendously pitiful millisecond long boost and lighter character receiving a boost that can last up to a second or so. It is possible to pull off a full miniturbo within less than a second if you can time your inputs right, but pressing the D pad too quickly will result in your character just flailing around in the kart.
The term "Snaking" as is described in this video, does not refer to the process of pulling off a successful drift, but rather "Snaking" is the term used to describe a series of rapid fire drifts along a straightaway in order to maintain a near-infinite mini turbo boost while still driving in a relatively straight line.
Most of these DS tracks Imam seeing the surroundings for the first time since I am usually focused on the track. I started on the Super, and DS was definitely my favorite at the time. I think over time I grew to like 3DS more.
A long term video like this is what I need
dope video!! double dash will always reign supreme for me
man you're so underrated, keep it up. great video
There is no better song you could have chosen to close out this amazing video. I love the Mario Kart series and have collected every single game. My favorite is DS because of the vast amount of multiplayer options it has and my surprise at all of the unlocks.
im really glad this video came up on my recommended. I’d love to see you do a retrospective on Super Mario Galaxy as you really seem to enjoy that game and it was one of my formative gaming experiences growing up
It’s in the works!

Great content! The whole video brought an idea of listing my fav tracks and not really surprising which ones they are:
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe:
Sunshine Airport
Mount Wario
Wild Woods (there's no W/L ratio stats, but 100% I've had the most success by far in this map)
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!:
Daisy Cruiser
Sherbet Land
Yoshi Circuit
DK Mountain
Star Cup was super elite.
dope asf presentation. you definitely gonna start makin good numbers real soon 🙏
I'm only 10 minutes into the video but I can already tell that it's gonna be a great video that I'll watch until the end (:
Kamek finally got his spotlight in wave 5. Feels good, man
This is my favorite TH-cam channel. Thank you for making quality content
Thank you so much for including my in this fantastic project! It goes without saying that this is a great video, but after finishing it I felt such a great feeling of almost reliving my Mario Kart journey. I started with Mario Kart DS and it was hard not to pick that one as my favourite out of nostalgia, spent a lot of my childhood playing Mario Kart Wii and again when I look back at the times I had on koopa cape it was hard to not pick that one. But Mario Kart 8 deluxe just feels like this amalgamation of everything I love about the series to me, and looks absolutely stunning. I went through a phase of speed running that game and despite my nostalgia for the DS and Wii games in particular, I think MK8D must be the one that I've spent the most time on, be it on my own Switch or other peoples. Looking forward to your future projects man, huge congrats on getting this one out!
Thank you for taking the time to be apart of it! and I'm glad you enjoyed :)
Jesus Christ the sovereign God loves you my friends 😊 You are truly cherished by Him
I have a Nintendo DS lite growing and the first game that I play was MKDS after I never played any of the other games that I had for the DS it’s was nostalgic.and the year has passed and I went back to playing everything Mario kart games from the past to get a feel what it was like being in the 90,s - 2017 even though I wasn’t born in the 90,s it was more like the late 04 anyway. Had the best time. And so many memories from playing the DS Wii and the 3ds with friends and family.
This thumbnail is WAYYYY too good
thanks!
In double dash, if you're playing co-op on one cart, the player on the back can also use L and R to ram the cart into the competition. It can also be used to troll the driver because it legitimately moves the kart quite a bit.
i love this Mario Kart: Super Circuit video
I cant really explain it, but it felt surprisingly good to see "regular" gameplay of MKWII. Great video! Got a sub from me.
that thumbnail and this video put a tear to my eye.
thanks!
I sadly have only ever played 2 MK games, SNES and Mario Kart 8. But you said something about each game having its own identity or something. Yes. Because these 2 games are so similar and mostly so different from each other. It is brilliant!
P. S. Whatever happened to Diddy Kong Racing?
on July 12, 2023 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster course pass wave 5 released, and Kamek was introduced as a playable character.
Just finished this watching this video. I've always loved video essays like this, so this was a really nice watch for me! Do you plan on doing a shorter look at the booster course pass once wave 6 has been released? I'd love to see your takes on things like the city tracks, the admittedly less polished remakes, and the fun new tracks!
I might do it on my second channel, I don’t know if it’d really fit on here honestly.
@@Kohana64 That's fair. Would be cool to see regardless
This is really well put together dude, great content overall. Regarding Mario Kart Tour, I think it would be better to include it as a mainline considering its inclusion in the expansion pass on 8 deluxe, also because it's considered mainline (at least in North America) by Nintendo themselves. Maybe making another video on the Mario Kart spin-offs would be a good place to talk about it? Other than that, you've earned a new sub, nice job!
This guy is not a die-hard MK fan. Plain and simple
@@WritingCountingOriginal Dude. He made a video talking about it that goes for an hour...how does that not say "die-hard fan?"
@@goldenninja9053 It’s my opinion. And I think anyone who straight up ignores an entire game’s relevance to the franchise should never be called a “die-hard” MK fan. He’s a fan, sure, but only to an extent lol.
Tour is more relevant to the franchise with 8 deluxe than he ever gave it credit for. You can’t just ignore an entire relevant game’s existence in a franchise and be considered one of the top fans.
wow! you deserve for more recognition, but you'll get there! keep it up
My favorite Mario kart game is double dash. It was the first one I ever played, so I hold a lot of fond memories of it. It also has a great selection of characters, wonderful tracks, an extremely fun battle mode, and it is by far the most unique experience in the franchise due to the partner mechanic.
Great video, man!
Its not often I can sit through an hour and 45 min videao and enjoy the whole thing without bring bored.
Lets hope this gets more views.
My favorite without a doubt is Mario Kart Wii, my first one the one im most experienced with and the some unique and broken mechanics because of bikes being OP it makes sense why they were COMPLETELY changed in the newer games like inside drift isn't as effective as it was in MkWii and that you can't do wheelies anymore.
also, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has changed so much that I even sometimes forget it was originally a Wii U game
While I've played them all except Mario Kart 7, I think my favorite is Mario Kart DS and this video reminded me why. There's something very enticing about Mario Kart on a handheld device, as its easy to jump into a few races. I just personally love when handheld games are quick and easy to jump into for a few minutes at a time, and Mario Kart DS provided so much depth and controlled so well at the time. Might be the one I've put the most hours into along with Double Dash and 8. Thanks for the great video!
Excellent video! 😁🥳
Ya gotta give Mario Kart 64 way more credit. The tracks are actually pretty good and the controls are great. I also couldn’t disagree more about 64 having a bad Rainbow Road.
Well to be frank for the characters in MK 8 deluxe theres bound to be more characters as u can tell their are 5 selections that are in question marks which indicates they will be adding more characters so as u said like before wacky characters will most certainly be added trust ❤
I loved the Coop mode in Double Dash people always seem to forget that you can punch people and steal their item. Also since punching moves you, you can drift very dangerously while the 2nd player keeps you save. The second player can do way more then just throw items
Mcart Wii will always be my favorite!!! Still love the many other games but something about that Classic Dragster with Luigi :) man that brings back memories
It was a great video! Fantastic job!
Tho tour should be here, even if it's just a small mention at the end, since nintendo considers it the 9th mainline mario kart game, and even is made by the same team as 8
Also, 17:20
Bob-ombs aren't in mario kart 64
As the oldest of three we grew up with the Mario Kart series from the beginning. I was much better at gaming, so when I played battle mode with one of my younger sisters we had a rule to make it more fair: the only items you were allowed to 'shoot' were green shells and you had to shoot them randomly into the arena's. All the other items you had to expose of without hurting the other. Since green shells had a much longer live span than they had in every MK after it the game just became a hectic dodge the green shells. Oh, how I miss those times.
That's how you should play the SNES battle mode 🤣💕
Mario Kart Wii is my favorite. I remember getting the Wii back in 2010 and having that, Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, Spongebob's Boating Bash, Wii Sports, and Wii Sports Resorts as my first games on the console.
I was there when it started on the SNES and became the standard it is today with the N64 onwards.
I never got a Wii U or even a Switch, so I go all the way up to Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS as my most recent version I have.
I played Mario Kart 8 at friends places, but I feel nostalgic for the older versions especially Double Dash on Gamecube.
Very good video overall and I appreciate how much time it must have taken to play all of these! I'm watching at work so maybe it's there and I can't hear it, but it would've been nice to hear some more of each game's music in the background.
I also think that you should've covered DS Download play a little bit too! It was so nice as a kid to play with other family members so easily while only needing one game, even if we had to play as shy guy. It made it really accessible.
Imo my least favorite game (I didn't play Super Mario Kart or Super Circuit) is Mario Kart Wii. I don't like the way it looks or the way it feels to play at all. 7 I feel like is an improvement in basically every way. My top 3 are DS, 8 Deluxe, and then 7!
