Not gonna lie to you. I haven't watched any of the homies content without a request in months because of 1 specific reason. If I see it, I'm gonna want to do it again. Y'all keep doing good stuff. I like what y'all got going on. This hitbox video was the perfect casual, but clearly worked on vid I didn't need to see because now I want to play FGs and make content for it again. This is not my ninja way.
I have sticks and all-button controllers, and I think both are fun. But I agree and I think there is a good case for all-button controllers going forward 1) less legacy stick use because most new players have little or no arcade experience 2) movement is cleaner 3) fewer accidental jump inputs 4) some wild shortcuts that make certain moves much quicker...the list goes on. But! At the end of the day, buying one of these won't automatically make you Daigo and you'll still need to put in the work (some of the shortcuts are fairly unintuitive so you gotta lab). I have a lifetime of joystick use that I still find more comfortable, but if I was starting today, I would definitely be tempted to go this route.
I just want you to know.. for me, this video will age like a fine wine. Bought my "Mayflash 500flat" I love it, takes a little bit to get used to it. But it's amazing
I bought myself a hitbox specifically for Tekken because I cannot KBD consistently on a regular stick to save my life. I did notice I do move better with a D Pad, but I don't like playing fighting games with a pad that are not Soul Calibur or Mortal Kombat. I don't know so much about me playing other fighting games with my new Hitbox, but as far as Tekken goes, it is going to be my go-to controller.
SnackBox changed my gaming habits. I was casual until SF6. The second I discovered HitBoxes I was interested. After using it for SF6, it made me buy a bunch of other fighting games. I even use it for simple platformers instead of my keyboard since I'm too lazy to buy batteries for my ol Steam controller.
I switched to a wider shiokenstar style mixbox (eternal rivals 18" enclosure with an ODINv2 instead of a stick) a few months back, no regrets. It's so much more comfortable. As someone that's played PC games that use WASD since the Quake 1, it feels vastly more natural to me than a stick (which I only got acquainted with in the late 201Xs). That said, it definitely isn't a magic cheat button, I struggle to get supers out when I'm in the left side :-/
I'm tryna make the jump to fightstick for a simillar reason. Pads hurt, so now I'm in my own training arc to get good with a stick in BBTAG. Having a lever makes sense in my eyes. Maybe things will change in the future, but right now, I'm going fightstick all the way
My wrists were dying on longer sessions when I was using a stick. I mostly played pad but as I got more into SF I preferred the layout that arcade sticks have. Hitbox was perfect for this. The shortcuts it provides was a happy bonus.
ngl i kinda wanna convert my te2 to a hitbox, been seeing a friend playing with hitbox and his movement in tekken is drastically change and that makes me considering it.
I have a really bad controller, so I had to learn tekken 8 in the keyboard. Now I bought a hitbox, since they seems to be similar, but with the benefit that the buttons in the hitbox are way easier than the keyboard
once you start hitbox or stick or pad, it's kinda a commitment as the muscle memory for each are so different that you'll always just wanna stick to the controller you're best in, for me it is a hitbox. 3 years back I was doing horrid on stick and pad so I switched to hitbox, didn't make me a better off the bat but a year later, I wouldn't wanna use any other controller. If you're already a god on stick or pad there's prob no reason for you to switch.
lots of pro high production videos couldn't convince me to buy a leverless. some bro i found on youtube is the one that did it. heres a cup of coffee on me bro
So i wholeheartedly agree. I fucked around and got a razer kitsune because i wanted to try the hitbox platform. I won’t play a fighting game without it now. After 3 months, my ass kicking online rate has went up SO FAR. I still struggle with the up input here and there or reversed controls but that’s slowly but surely being corrected. I practiced my movements on sf to get accustomed to the directions. Still do from time to time. I’m playing Tekken 7 nightly and tearing MFs apart. Can’t wait for T8.
Oh boy you don’t know how happy someone was when I got good with the third finger. I could never reach with my ring finger before but now….two for da pink one for that stank.
Idk if u still havent learned the 632146+HS motion for strive yet but for anyone thats wondering. You just slide your index finger back on the movement buttons then foward and his heavy slash. You just gotta it fast like ur mashing to get out of a bury state in smash
I am a pad player myself and I agree that Hitboxes have an uppder hand when it comes to movement, but then I see players like Anakin that play on pad and they play extremely well.
I switched from pad to a leverless Razer Kitsune and it was the best thing i ever did for SF i tried playing in the past and was never able to fully feel like i was in control of more than half of the cast
I’ve never really gotten into having a fight stick. I have one and I just never used it. It said maybe one or two times so I wanted to know if learning a Hitbox is better than learning a stick after seeing your video and how funny it is I’m considering on buying one just so I can learn how to play on a hit box.
My biggest concern around getting on is my mains are often grapplers. 360 inputs are a staple and im not sure how you get them off with only 4 buttons.
I play keyboard for KOF which has a lot of those inputs. Suuuuper easy. Takes a lil practice but it’s just a rhythm. You can get it out wayy quicker than normal and if you got that rhythm down you ain’t gonna fuck up the movement. It’ll be precise everytime
Remember too that these games don’t count diagonals in that movement. You can go left down right up left with the buttons in a quick ass motion and not have to worry about getting the diagonals. If you play a grappler, I’d reccomend a hit box or keyboard setup even more.
Playing on PS5 controller and it's pretty rough. Definitely stuff I just can't do with it. I emulated sf2 on PC back in the day and playing with keyboard was so much better than a controller, so I can see why this would be so effective.
I tried the Hitbox a while back and it felt hella weird for me, the Mixbox and Keyboard I ended up liking more but it felt cheap having access to a easy KBD in Tekken. Ended up just sticking to PS4 remote lol, if they make KBD easy in T8 onwards I might just go with mixbox in the future.
Using a hitbox sounds cool and all, and I might give it a try somewhere in the near future, but I would also love it if Sony could allow us to use ps4 controllers on every ps5 game as well since I love the ps4 controller. So like if using a ps5 controller is difficult to use when it comes to fighting games, then I would pretty much prefer hitboxes and ps4 controllers.
dope video. I never tried a stick or hitbox but definitely looking into it for SF6. I do not play charge characters or 360 characters, but maybe a different device would change that. i also struggle with tekken electrics on pad

Not no more lmaoooo
It's not banned, just nerfed for charge characters. Other things are now buffed though due to the change that may be even more op so we'll see.
never never.. Arcade is what makes fighting game awesome and fun.
Hitbox is just a freaking keyboard lol
wen capcom tried to fix the frame perfect bs you can pull off on hitboxes 99.9% time they opened up more glitches and things people not using hitboxes cant do. they should put a system in place that detects your pressing 2 directional inputs at the same time determine your using a hitbox then match you with only other hitbox players. hit boxes were designed to give an unfair advantage and they doo.
Finally hit box are banned and it will have software updates so it won’t work to do sonic boom and flash kick without charging and pressing the buttons at the same time. So hit box are going to be in a trash can near you
