Great video brother. Personally, outside of Lies of P and before seeing the unbiased reviews for Lords of the Fallen, I was most interested in Flintlock: Siege at Dawn. Hopefully, more devs take notes on what Neowiz was able to accomplish. Lies of P performance is perfect. A very well optimized game and even added a frame rate boost for 120hz displays.

@@Clayton0301 oh boy, my excitement was through the roof, I think that’s grounds for a beer, you owe my a nice pint! Or I’m never going to get over this.
As a Caster main, I've been really disappointed by how Casters have been handled in both DS3 and Elden Ring. While Elden Ring did the spells really well, both DS3 and Elden Ring did an abysmal job in both Caster gameplay and supporting mechanics. So I really hope that Spellbound is a real game, because it's actually putting a focus on magic as a whole this time around. Which means that Casters might actually get an actual gameplay update that we've been desperately needing for years now.
If spellbound is real, it will bring me back to being extremely bad at these kinds of games. I have only done a mage/caster build once and that was for the Dark Souls 2 platinum trophy. I don't know how to use spells, nor spell builds. In every one of these games I play, I have the simple mindset of big sword, big strength, big damage 💪
@@CosmicEye597 Sometimes a big weapon and a forward approach is all that anyone needs, nothing wrong with that. Myself on the other hand, I like the versatility and utility that spells bring, which is honestly the main reason why I could never get into Sekiro that much, as it felt monotonous to the point of feeling claustrophobic in the available options. I just hope I don't get my hopes too high with Spellbound's updates to magic as a whole, because I've already been burned by that with Elden Ring.
I totally agree, more games like sekiro and bloodborne. I was just telling my brother this the other day. I loved Armored core 6, it was a nice change of pace. I mean I just put 100 hours into Lords of the fallen, and yeah I can safely say I didn’t like the game, I just played it because it had some familiar tropes I adore, but overall i think it’s a bland ass game, lies of p on the other hand, was phenomenal. Sekiro is my favorite game of all time, so I’d love to see From the another game exploring different mechanics, I’m kind of bored of the dodge roll attack loop, but parrying is still fresh as hell.
I really liked lords of the fallen but Im finding it hard to continue playing lies of P. Its really interesting seeing how divisive the new souls like are and honestly I think that is a good thing. I believe that a bit of variance in the genre will be good.
@@Caladir I believe that the reason people prefer one a lot over the other is mainly because they branch in pretty much opposite directions away from the standard souls formula. Lies of P goes for the slow, methodical almost rythmic pace of the older souls with the parry focus of sekiro. Lord's of the fallen goes more into the fast pace that you see in elden ring with a bigger focus on rolling or just blocking, where hits don't matter as much but they are more frecuent. Also lies of P chooses a much more limited but distinct weapon system (Like sekiro or Bloodborne) over the many weapons and armour of lord's of the fallen. That is why you see some people call lies of P clunky and lord's of the fallen floaty. It's because they aim for what are pretty much different player bases.

As more of these games come out, and they learn from each other. Eventually we might see a souls game or souls like that is the pinnacle of soulslike/soulsgames. Yes Elden Ring comes very close but with the addition of soulslikes Lies of P and Lords of the Fallen, they introduced or reintroduced mechanics that evolved the soulslike genre. Lies of P brought back perfect guard, but introduced mixing weapons. Lords of the Fallen is basically OG dark souls in Unreal Engine 5, the combat is a little slower than most modern soulslikes, and it has a upgrade weapon system, shortcuts that make the world feel interconnected, and adds the umbral realm. Which was mostly puzzle solving and tedious however that is not to say they won't perfect it. And given the games success and mixed reviews, I would say we might finally get a sequel. As this game was supposed to be. Lies of P is the best at bloodborne mixed with Sekiro mechanics. And Lords of the Fallen is best at dark souls mechanics. Also they finally patched it and mostly it runs smooth on consoles with slight dips in umbral. And people created amazing builds and I have made use of one that is OP but not to the point of the crossbow. In fact I wish they would keep the crossbow in PVE because I keep dying in PVP due to the crossbow. That is a skill issue for me but also rather unfair due to the extremely OP crossbow build. Though I do welcome the challenge.
I loved Lies Of P so much but I felt like it was a bit short. Compared to Lords Of The Fallen which feels like a full length souls like. Dont forget about Remnant 2.
I wouldn't call Remnant 2 a souls-like game, though it's pretty fun to play. Loved lies of P, I hope the studio will follow up on their good work in the future. Lord of the fallen... didn't finished. I hope they'll try new directions as well, as they did with armored core.
Listen man if the bloodborne remake ever comes MIYAZAKI HIMSELF NEEDS TO BE INVOLVED as there is a lot of symbolism that is still being discovered. If that is not possible the devs should work closely with souls story/lore explainers (which is even more impossible)
Fromsoftware already said the open world formula is the natural evolution of the series. If you dislike that style go play the older games. And stop comparing ubisoft to fromsoftware. Ubisoft always releases trash regardless of if it’s open world or not. FS souls game will evolve and have more NPCs as they grow their studio and upgrade their engine. Expect games to get more ambitious and take longer but we should get rockstar level quality.
I admit I was dubious about souls-like going open-world before Elden Ring released... than as I played I realized just how much of a freaking genius move it was... when done right.
