    I love the academies like this, they produce good cops. Its really great when every officer with an agency has been through the same hell. Here in Ca we have CHP and they are all very good guys who have integrity

    Some people on here are saying that the physical standards are low but remember that they are meant to be passed by women too. In addition, how many fist fights do you reckon troopers will be getting into. They train them in other tactics to solve any problems.

    • @StackBundle
      @StackBundle 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Physical standards shouldn't be lowered for women. When dealing with a criminal is that criminal going to just magically become smaller and weaker because the cop is female? No.

  • @vinojew
    @vinojew 10 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    At 3:30. these POST trainers should really be taught not just to tell a guy to get through it but teach the cadet how to get through the psychological issue. Every LE or Military person should read The Warrior Mindset by LT. Dave Grossman and friends.

  • @vinojew
    @vinojew 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Physical exercise creating stress is alot diff then creating psychological stress for cadets... or anyone for that matter. Psycho stress is turned on through realistic training situations.

    Keep in mind, this was just day 3. Never a good thing to go into a 15 week academy overweight. It completely changes you for the better. Those "minimums" had absolutely nothing to do with anything else in that video. At the end everyone was doing minimums of 50/50 situps/pushups and 11 min. 1.5mi. even the ones with knee braces. It would have been a completely different story if they would have taped this on day 103, instead of day 3.

    I'm not at all trying to downplay the Alaska troopers- they appear to be quite the law enforcement force, but these pt times are not even as strict as NH police academy which trains the state troopers here and town police (same academy). Our 1.5 mile minimum for ENTRY is 12:53. Just thought it was interesting.

    this is so stupid. I was in LAPD academy class 3-81B, I was 22 at the time and I graduated first in my class in physical fitness and self defense. This is only because I wrestled in HS and College. I cannot believe that at the age of 56 I can still perform better than all of these people the standards have become a joke.

    @ScoKimber Where was it said you can't defend yourself? They are on their knees which lowers their speed and power, they are wearing headgear and chest protectors, the contact here is minimal if non-existent. Fatbody Pyle here is just exhausted and needed a good cry before his nap.
