For all the haters, these guys undergo such rigid and stressful training to give them a hard shell. A trooper rides alone, which means he or she needs to be able to be strong and handle themselves mentally and physically on their own. It takes a thick character to drive toward the sound of gunfire when others are running away from it. They're not brainwashed. They just realize the necessary sacrifice to be be hard-shelled.
the haters are those that have been arrested by police for breaking the law and those that can't even run 50 yards without going into cardiac arrest XD

Hate how lower law enforcement agencies feel the need to have a military style boot camp but after graduation they don't maintain physical fitness tests and other stuff like be consistent

Cyberat, they do have moral codes and swear oaths. It's not just up to the police agency to keep the police accountable, it's up to the citizen's as well.

Alaska is one of the most remote states in the United States so troopers need to be trained like this because most of the time emergency response is a few days away.

I have to agree with you 100%. Police officers have some of the most stressful jobs there is.
They're mentally ill to begin with. Alaska lawn forcement are a bunch of lower 48 rejects who couldn't get a job where they lived. At least a third of them have criminal records

Yeah same. Before seeing this I despised Alaskan State Troopers. I essentially had dedicated my life to disrespecting them even though I live in Pennsylvania but after seeing this, my opinion of them has changed. I’m a different person now and today is a new day.

When someone is drowning you or is on top of you and they're panicking and you don't want them on you because they're drowning you you go straight down and swim away underwater cuz they're not going to go under the water and get you they want to stay up on top of the water where they can breathe

I like how there's all the comedies about state troopers, but it's not that different in military basic and/or boot camp. In some ways, it's harder, especially with prior military drill instructors screaming in your ears.

I'm pretty sure if you had a crash your car, your airplane, and helicopter will have doors but that thing that went under water didn't have doors so how would you open the doors with a lot of water pressure?

Alaska State Troopers are severly understaffed and not able to recrute enough new officers to replace officers that are leaveing.
Alaska has several major problems in recrutement and retention of troopers. The pay is low, the retirement plan is bad and the weather is terrible.

The point of yelling is to put mental stress on the recruit. The body will always adapt, however, the police force needs officers who won't lose composure under stress.
The public needs a police force who can maintain composure at ALL TIMES. Besides, the yelling only goes on for the first few weeks, and then tapers off.
