Gh0stT The biggest arteries and veins run through the legs. Even if the bullet doesnt hit them directly parts of the jacket could come off and slice them apart or bone fragments could have a similar effect.
Police are trained to shoot chest area, when they say shoot is authorized it means kill

Alaska State Troopers have it harder then ANY other Police Department main US or another place like Hawaii, backup can be anywhere from 3-4 to even 6, hours away and there are under 500 Troopers, compare that to how much area there is to cover.
The Alaskan police makes us look bad. They look badass

they dont just randomly kill innocent people...sometimes you do what you have to do. there is no guilt in killing someone who has taken hostages.
Lots of our armed services are young kids between 18-21, it's sad they have to do this stuff but they know the risks when they sign up and nobly accept them, same goes for police officers, firefighters and EMTs.
i was less than a year out of highschool. while my classmates wore studying english and math i was learning tourniquets and controled pairs center mass.

For all you people saying shoot to wound please listen because im going to teach you something. When someone with a gun threatens officers safety it becomes life and death for every officer involved say you shoot him in the leg instead of the chest or heart but he gets a few rounds off and a officer is hurt or killed because you chose to shoot him in the leg. Think about what would you do ? Elminate the threat completely or risk the injury or possible death of a friend or co worker
