- After seeing others using the salt weathering technique & multiple layered hairspray weathering I thought i'd have a go at it and slightly adjust the method to suit RTR model railway stock.
In Part 1 ill show you how I weathered the wagons and in Part 2 ill show how completed the models & added the scrap loads.
Looks a good method of weathering and an enjoyable video you have posted on doing it . The effect looks very realistic too .liked the use of a cut up locomotive for scrap as well
Thanks, Glad you liked it.
Most helpful, but, please, invest in a tripod. And perhaps no more ‘cracking on’. It’s become a modelling epidemic!
Cheers Rick.
Yea, it's something I've been using more recently as you're not the first person to suggest a tripod to avoid the (as I call it) "Blair witch" style video.
@@JAMESDEMU-RailwayModeller Nothing wrong with some careful hand-held camera work, but not a good idea when you are trying to do something else with your other three hands!
Hi James,
Looks good and effective. It does look a right pain to do while holding a camera though lol.
Thanks Michael Henfrey.
Yea, certainly a lot easier when using both hands.
Very impressive 👍👍👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you
how do you get it off the sink -don't tell the wife !!! you have used half a pint of paint on that waggon .less is more with paint .
Hi James, i love these "how to vids" really useful, i'm defo having a crack at this, looks great. Cheers Chris :)
Very effective! Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
That's a fantastic how to video James. I'm going to have to have a go at that soon. Steve
