Just to clarify, I didn't want to go overboard with the weathering on this one but you could easily coat this in salt and hairspray to give it a really heavy rusty patina look. Similarly this could be used with a metallic base coat to just make the paint look chipped. It's very versatile.
I'm glad it was helpful. I just left the paint a few hours as I didn't want the toothbrush to scratch the finish where it was supposed to be left unrusted. That's what you meant, right?
Thanks Thomas. You never know when these little tips and tricks will come in handy. Keep them coming as we never stop learning.
You're welcome Allan. I know that this video could help someone many years down the line.
This car came out great! The technique worked perfectly. Thanks for the demonstration. Have an upcoming project I will try this on. 🚚😊
I hope it's helpful! I'd really like to try this method again someday but I need to find the right subject - maybe something industrial.
Nice tutorial. Saved it to my rust techniques playlist. Thanks for sharing
Cheers Mike. I watched a lot of videos in preparation for this build but there weren't any which focused on spray cans really.
Thanks for such a great tutorial. I've got to try it some time.
You're welcome. There were loads of rusty trucks where I was on holiday and it made me want to try this again too

Thanks Ive been looking for a video like this on using a car model. Can you comment on advantages and disadvantages to waiting 12 hours like you did?
