yeah man i max out on sunshine/moonlight - use it on laptop x2 / couch PC / VM w gpu passthru / main desktop / android (de-googled phone) / LG TV CX 77" / rasp pi - can't recommend it enough!
did you try the Flatpak version as it gave me it can't detect my gpu, any idea thanks

it failed to find any codecs for the gpu i have also
there isnt any docs about this problem either so this is annoying :/

What package are you using?
I had the same issue. Have you tried running the command in brackets? It worked for me after that
would this work if i had a VM of windows in linux mint? I want to make use of my dGPU (i am in a laptop) for a graphic design app which only works on windows, hence that. The Windows VM (through Qemu/KVM) has only moonlight installed and nothing pops up for the sunshine + moonlight laptop, does the VM windows require something else?
if you have a second gpu then you can do it with vm
@@linuxnext oh but it's merely so I can use moonlight on the vm and connect the laptop gpu (which is also using the vm) to it, since I only have one gpu (dedicated). I have to do it that way due to the VM and general ones not having options for gpus that are in use by the os
@@linuxnext I searched and there's a vm that allows the igpu from the intel cpu, but requires sort a lot of setup time and I'd prefer to just do this. Now, idk if my use case would fit with the purpose of the app
Which discord version do you use ? everyone told me to install vesktop but screen sharing isn't working at all ( i'm using arch linux ) is there any workaround
Do you have xdg-desktop-portal installed for your desktop environment?
This is what allows software like vesktop to connect to pipewire so you can share your screen, i use the flatpak version also not aur as flatpak is the official version of vesktop
But when I'm not using vesktop for screen sharing, I'll use the official one with some chromium variables in the .desktop file so that its forced into wayland mode and i get hardware accel on my gpu
@@linuxnext I have xdg-desktop-portal installed but still screensharing isn't working and i have tried to edit the .desktop file using chatgpt but still not working

For editing the .desktop file for me on kde i edit the app and click save, it will create the shortcut in .local/share/applications
On the end of the exec=discord path with a space you add the variables, for me on amd i add
--enable-features=VaapiIgnoreDriverChecks, VaapiVideoEncoder, VaapiVideoDecoder, UseMultiPlaneFormatForHardwareVideo, VaapiVideoDecodeLinuxGL, ignore-gpu-blocklist, enable-zero-copy, disable-gpu-driver-bug-workaround --enable-features=UseOzonePlatform --ozone-platform=wayland
Screen sharing doesnt work on native wayland on discord yet as discord is working on it currently
dude, you have a behringer UM2, how is it working for you in linux? I have one and has been working really good, any advice?
Its great, i use it for my iems also and it does the job, ill be getting a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen soon as the mic i use needs more gain (podmic) and the um2 cant do it fully

Nope, works as is, i have tried different profiles for my iems tho through easy affects or jamesdsp also works well
does it work if the host's screen was turn off?
It might ill have to test this later
what is the best solution for using a linux pc remotely?
maybe Remmina or gnome remote connections, i havent tried this myself
next time try to start the video by first showing what the software does. It will probably prevent people from leaving the video too soon.
Kinda hard to show the software when its not a gui and i show the website of what sunshine does at the very start, then moonlight which is pinned in the video so they can skip to that point in the video :)
