Plot armor. Cheif survived a nuclear explosion from a distance of a few feet. There would be no high ground, just leveled ground

Християн лазаров you’re also assuming that the UNSC doesn’t just release its frigates

Of course your old intro is remembered. Your old verses videos were legendary
Oh boy the rematch happened! Glad to see that you fell on the kinetic side of the force :D
The hardest part about comparing anything to the Star Wars universe is that none of its tech is based on any form of realism (as shown by the insane power output of their capital weapons) rather than things like Halo or WH40K (though saying WH40K is realistic is also somewhat false).
Something I like to do with these kinds of comparisons is assume a kind of "power parity." In general this means that each side's weapons will be considered to be reasonably effective against the other. That way we can actually discuss design, tactics, and strategy instead of just quoting big numbers for tonnage/shielding
@Dr-fate-hoes-comp-Umineko Ah yes, the Forerunners. The people who embody the phrase "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic". Tilting the galaxy was just gravity manipulation on an extremely wide scale, something also seen in Star Wars with Centerpoint/Sinkhole Station (though not on that grand a scale).
Rewatching that scene of the Infinity firing at the Mantel’s Approach made me realize that 343 didn’t go for a “projectile” look and more of a “energy weapon” look for the firing of MAC guns. It looks more sustained than a projectile would be and it’s a bit too pure white throughout compared to what a projectile trail that long from a weapon that big would actually look like
I feel like no projectile going that fast will stay in one piece
I think that's just an artistic liberty to make it look cooler, if they made it look like how it canonically is then you would not even be able to see anything being fired whatsoever
I do wonder if perhaps it could be firing multiple smaller projectiles rapidly like how PoA could fire 3 at a time.
I might be misremembering, but I believe that the MACs also turned the projectile into molten slag as it was accelerated. In other words, it was a giant molten tungsten watergun.
maybe those secretly weren't superMACs. maybe they were Fibril Cutters
As long as there's no main characters a single resurgent-class could be taken over by three Spartan fireteams
Likely
he said the Resurgent was more like a standard capitol ship, so I think he should have done the Infinity vs the Mandator IV, #AskEck , or maybe do the Infinity vs Bellator (Man III), or perhaps one of the Executor class. I think the Eclipse class matchup would be interesting, but would ultimately go to the Eclipse.
@@ToastGamingNCrew Resurgent class vs the Autumn class of the UNSC
Yeah but if a single force user was on there then that probably would not happen
@@wendyandmiketerell997 A Spartan fire team beats a force user anyday... The UNSC uses ballistic weapons rather than 'energy weapons' otherwise known as slugthrowers. Thing is bullets have a faster velocity than laser bolts and 4 spartans raining down hell on a force user? Dead.
Force users maybe able to predict incoming attacks but spartans react almost instantaneously are significantly stronger and would be able to match the speed of a force user, besides they wouldn't need to fight the force user if they chose not to... All they'd need to do is deliver their payload and exfil and they'd be dandy and if a 4 man team doesn't work well the UNSC Infinity has a compliment of over 400 spartans Lmao
As much as I love the Resurgent class (my favorite ship in the First Order) I have to give it to the Infinity. It's just got too many tactical advantages and more adaptability in combat.
Plus the energy shield
The video that practically started it all! Glad to see a shoutout to the old format
I love how you addressed that stolen video. XD Just wanted to say that it made me chuckle. Videos are good as usual, keep up the awesome work man.
I like this style of matchup a LOT more as it's not determined by how many zeros an author decided to put behind their lore numbers and rather on design and functionally
Honestly, as long as 40k isn't involved, the infinity will always win any versus battle, it's literally a whole fleet of heavy frigates and a dreadnought vs whatever.
The 10 heavy frigates themselves are an insanely impressive fleet that would easily beat most star wars capital ships, if we include the infinity then it's a no brainer
When it comes to scale of the weapons and armor, the infinity could even mess up so e of the mid range 40k ships too
@@Yomotomen you mean the things they have 100's of thousands of? maybe
@@rainunderscore hey man, i said some, halo’s army scale vs 40k’s are entirely different, one on one against maaaaaybe a mid to large size 40k, would be even but im not really too versed, obviously any 40k army would usually decimate any other medias army other than maybe the flood if it got lucky
@@YomotomenThe Flood are pretty much a 40k race that ended up in the wrong setting. The gap in power between Halo's modern and ancient races is comical.
@@wolfgangervin2582 yeah, they’re real weak at the start though and 40k has more than enough tools to wipe them out before proper scaling happens, remember the ancient humans were actually regularly hunting flood infected worlds till the forrunners wiped them out, although, all the flood would really need i reckon for the 40k universe is probably 1 ship, that’d probably be enough to set course for the rest of the galaxy

Brute or Brute chieftain from Halo vs A Predator from the Predator franchise. With 2 rounds First round unarmed and unarmored. Second round fully armed and armored
Predator wins armed chieftain wins unarmed.
Predator wins both. Predators arent as physically strong as Brutes but their skill in battle is like that of a spartan and the average spartan tanks the average brute due to skill. With armor and weapons the predator slaughters Brutes
Tristan Edward nah predators are not as strong as Spartans physically bc u sometimes see humans putting up a decent fight against them in hand to hand. Brutes are just ludicrously strong and with chieftains being the strongest and biggest of them the yautja wouldn’t really stand a chance

Predators could easily use their stealth to their advantage. And the predators have the weaponry and skill to kill a chieftain
Unarmed, the predator gets oofed

"Most advanced weapon"
Forerunner tech: Am I a joke to you?
Not the most advanced, no, but quite plausibly the most devastating.
The kinetic force alone of a single Super MAC, even if it fails to destroy the ship, is enough to cause the structural integrity of the ship to vibrate itself apart.
Great work on the video dude.
I would say this though, while you said you won't get into boarding action, it's pretty much guaranteed that in a situation like this that if the Infinity was ever put in a position it couldn't win through positioning or firepower, they would quite literally launch Spartans at the opposing ship like they were missiles to inflict as much damage and sabotage as possible.
Stormtroopers vs Spartan IV's?
That would be a fucking massacre. Quality over quantity at its finest.

You kinda forgot that two of the Infinities Super MACs are in fact broadside cannons, meaning much shorter and probably less powerful then the main ones but devestating non the less.
So even in a braodside engagment, the Infinity is ahead, even if only slightly. ^^
Wait, orher than the fact i did not know that, they have the same classification tho, wich surely would mean they are the same.
LtCWest MAC cannons can still be powerful while ultimately being small, for example the Pillar of Autumn had a smaller MAC cannon however featured a different slug which acted like shredder rounds from the M85B so it splits into multiple fragments upon impact and was also able to fire 3 times without having to be recharged.

Bellator vs. Resurgent
Nebula vs. Pelleaon
neat
1. Resurgent wins clearly
2. Bellator wins clearly
3. Pelleon wins... maybe not clearly, but yeah, it would win
@Tron The true numbers of weapons that the bellator has is unknown. So i see the facts: The Bellator is more than the double of the lenght of the Resurgent and a practical, dedicated dreadnought, made for capitalship-hunting. And this description is (in my opinion) strong enought to beat a Resurgent.
@Tron You are principly right, but the a bigger ship has more space to but weapons on it, and because it is a Imperial ship, they had used that space. How i said: the Bellator is a dedicated capitalship-killer. Even the really advanced and really impressive Resurgent is not able to beat a bellator in a direct fight. Maybe i overestimate the bellator and battle is closer than i think, but i would still say taht the bellator wins. Not 10 times out of 10, but 8 or 9 times out of 10.
@Tron The Bellator has a point-defense-system, so the Tie/sf´s would be relativly effectless. And in a Battle with thousands of Turbolasers a few missiles doesn´t make a different.

A few things.
Congrats on getting married!
I think this is a very well thought out conclusion.
A couple other things that weren't really mentioned that would give the Infinity an even greater chance of winning.
1. The jump to slip space for the Infinity is really quite fast and because of the way slip space works, they can appear behind the Resurgent with MACs facing it if they got to close or simply wanted shot it from behind.
2. Those nukes it carries? Yeah... They can destroy moons with ease and cause devastation on a planetary scale, even cracking the planet apart.
1. Two of the Infinity's SuperMAC's are rear facing, so putting the resurgent behind it doesn't necessarily make it any more likely to win.
2. I think the reason the Infinity's MAC's succeeded where the ODP's failed was because it was able to get close and line up a shot more carefully.
Distance shouldnt really be relevant. Though better aiming might be. Who knows, that might have had an effect.
Nope, the Infinity MAC's succeded where the ODP's failed because it has more powerful guns... Your logic makes jack shit in terms of sense as the Didact's ship is literally comparable to the bloody Death Star in size.
@@Thurnmourer Easy there. I'm talking about hitting a specific spot weaker than the rest of it, not just hitting the ship itself.
@@mistrants2745 In sci-fi battles, particularly ones with kinetic weapons and their theoretically infinite range it makes sense for ships to make random evasive movements, so while the ship is no longer in its projected position when incoming fire arrives. @@justinthompson6364 Well yeah thats true but thats already your second point. Which i did acknowledge could have made a difference. Its more that you currently use two arguments to make one argument.
I saw this in my subscription widow before the notification.😁
So I have two discussion points.
1) If there was boarding action. The Spartan 4's on the Infinity would wipe out any resistance they would have on their way.
2) Mach cannon's range in space have a theorized range of infinty due to the fact that there is no friction in space, and if it doesn't hit anything or a pocket of space that adds friction to the projectile.

I am genuinely glad you decided to revisit this match-up Eck. Not that I had any real problems with the original, in fact it was always one of my favourites that you've done thus far. However as you even stated, pulling specific numbers from rather limited sources and trying to compare feats directly felt a bit wrong given we're talking about two entirely separate universes with different rules, even differing physics. The more comprehensive and direct approach you took to this one is in my opinion better, you certainly at least seemed to feel a lot better about how the ships were being compared, and I have to agree.
Also want to say that I've been around since that video specifically as it was the first of yours I ever came across, so there was a particularly special bit of nostalgia in seeing its brief return :) although I would like to know the music track used in it since I've gone into a bit of a deep dive on chill electronica in the past year.
Ha'Tak(SG.1) VS Star Destroyer(Star Wars)
"I'm going to move away from making calculations based on lore references"
But this is the thing I like most about comparison videos.. otherwise it's just a completely subjective opinion. Like, a halo warship might be powerful against other halo ships but that means absolutely nothing when comparing universes if you aren't going to at least attempt to accurately measure their differences, *especially* when comparing universes with depth to the extent of Halo & Star wars. I'm not trying to be rude, I just genuinely have no idea what you mean by that.

Yeah I was kinda shook by how many guns they said the Resurgent had because its on Super SD tier while being like 1/5th the size
Many weapons on the Resurgent are most likely much smaller. Maybe many of them are just the point defence rocket launchers.
@@TheKingofbrooklin You have a point there, but smaller than a regular Turbolaser in an ISD would also make it much less effective, so i dont believe in a huge size difference. Also the Rocket launchers arent included in these numbers. It says 1500 Turbolasers, Ion cannons and Point Defense Laser cannons + several rocket launchers.
@@Dalipsingh111111 I think it has a similar number of heavy turbolasers as the old ISD but additional medium and light turbolasers.
VF-1 Valkyrie variable fighter( SDF Macross) vs Viking mech( Starcraft).
LED Mirage mortar headd( Five Star Stories) vs Reaver class titan ( warhammer 40K).
I'm happy you redid the video it was well done and much more thought out and had methods that I liked
Damn, I know you're not an old channel but that old school intro gave me some nostalgia
Personally if fighters were deployed I bet the Broadsword fighters could give the Tie Fighters a run for their money. Plus if boarding action happened the Spartans and ODSTs would easily kill all the Storm Troopers.
One there is more than one ripe of tie destroyer and even if there was only one the ties are faster and have better pilots along with missiles and laser cannons number two spartans could but considering there were death troopers the ODST would die even each said so and a few sith we would be fine against Spartans what beats the resurgent is way better fire power
Wendy and Mike Terell tie fighters are horrible dog fighters they have to be be in visual range to engage
The Star Wars Universe would just need a single smaller ship and hyperspace ram the Infinity...
Then again, the Infinity could just launch a spare or sacrificial slipspace drive at the Resurgence and teleport half the Resurgence to God knows where in slipspace and we get the same effective outcome. LOL! Especially effective if you happen to teleport large portions of the bridge, engineering, and hangar sections into slipspace while leaving the fore and aft sections behind in normal space with no control systems or power...plus with that much slipspace radiation within the hull of the Resurgence, would there be any remaining troops, or even androids, still left functional and capable of continuing the fight?
A "broadside" of ten thousand .22's is NOT the same as a "broadside" of 10 .50cal.
More DOESN'T mean more powerful.
Especially since the Infinity has two banks of militarized Onager mass drivers that unmilitarized could severely damage CCS battlecruisers albeit unshielded.
kris guntner I think your severely underestimating the ridiculous power gap between a conventional missile and a star destroyer’s turbo laser bolt.
@@krimsonfel3676 its not the power gap so much as Infinity has 25,000 ship to ship missiles which are much much larger than anything in Star Wars. And each one is capable of gutting an armored starship. In fact its often used to finish off Covenant vessels after their shields have been dropped. Also seeing as Imperial Star Destroyers have 0 CIWS of any kind a lot of them are likely to get through. That also means all those turbo lasers are toast.
@@krimsonfel3676 The only thing I underestimate is the willingness for fans boys to believe "expanded universe" material put out by people wanting to make money when the ACTUAL movies DON'T show anything remotely as powerful as stated in those books.
Although I'm a little sad that the Resurgent lost, I understand why. If you think about it, the Infinity has a durability advantage because of it's size, 5 km is way longer than 2.9 km. The Infinity also had a tech advantage as well using Covenant *and* Forerunner tech, ya don't see a Resurgent using tachyon sensors and a tachyon lance that can fire into hyper space.
Also, congrats on the wedding man! I'm really happy for ya! :D
Oh that intro hit me like a freight train, i paused the video just to write the comment.
Great content eckhartzladder and congratulations!

Old One Blackstone Fortress (Warhammer 40k) vs Forerunner Fortress-Class Dreadnought (Halo).
I don't know what those do in other media, but the ones in battle fleet gothic would get curb stomped
@@Greywolf905
Forerunner ships can destroy planets and stars just look up the lore.
@@thorshammer7883 I'm saying the Blackstone Fortresses as show in the game battle fleet gothic would get wrecked, I don't know how they perform in other sources.
@@Greywolf905 in the actual fluff a Blackstone fortress is quite able to destroy a planet by itself with ease. 3 of them together can send a star into supernova (which they can survive long enough inside of in order to warp jump out).
They're basically the deathstar but with no exhaust port. Also usually defended by chaos space marines.
@@Benthesniperof8 Then there's definitely no way that they could win. Forerunner civilian vessels alone were able to send stars into supernovas since they needed wipe out the solar system at any sign of the flood. That kind of destructive capability being that widely used compared to three of the very best ships that the old ones have is not even a competition as to who has more firepower.

Hey Eck, I’m a Wardrobe consultant.
Here’s a few suggestions for your wedding:
There’s no such thing as getting the suit too soon. Bare minimum 5 weeks prior to the wedding to place the order.
Wear something different from your groomsmen.
That could mean they wear vests instead of coats, you get one and they don’t, or they wear different ties.
Third, DO NOT RENT- unless you want to do a tuxedo or something, then renting might be viable.

What would happen if MasterChef was apart of the Star Wars Universe during the Clone Wars?
@@wadedewell sorry but i cannot see Master Chief being beaten by Droids. I think the enemys he fights are fairly comparable. Grunts and Jackals- Battle Droids
Elites - Commando Droids maybe?
Brutes- Super Battle Droids
Hunter- Droidika with bigger gun (?)
He would team up with Rex
Gordon Ramsay would call Anakin a donkey, and Joe would throw Anakin's poorly made food into the trash
@@wadedewell Only a select few Jedi and Sith are actually over powered in the star wars universe so your comment is invalid.
Depends on how the star wars universe reacts to him. If they kinda ignore him and treat him like any other clone trooper then I think he'd have a relatively low impact. If the republic found him there's a very strong possibility that he might replace Jango Fett as the template for all future clones, regardless of if he went willingly or not.
Nice update.
I do not think you can forget boarding. As any faction that can make and do use Super soldiers; boarding is going to be a major tactic planned, trained for and executed on and especially when the enemy does not. There is a reason why Astartes carry chain and power swords and other melee weapons in 40k. I mean if you can make hulk level tough, fast, and strong troops they are most effective in close combat where they are ripping normal humans to pieces and can not be sniped by tanks, fixed heavy weapons or artillery pieces.
I Mean Master chief: John in the games has boarded the Covenant's largest capital ships and killed every species in the covenant and the Flood as well on board, and actually destroying the ship also; Heck he has done this on Halo Rings also; with most being crewed/ occupied by well above baseline humans. In the SW verse's evil human-only empires' only employ Baseline human beings
I think the UNSC would have to be idiots not to use boarding to destroy huge Cap. ships, seeming as they have used this tactic with Master-Chief: Jon to save their A$$e$ several times. Also, I feel sorry for the imperial Storm Troopers who are ordered to board a UNSC ship, a ship that counts Super-Soldiers amongst its crew/ fighting force. certainly, they will not be running over the bodies of the people they kill, the Spartans though will have to wash a lot of red chunks out of their shiny power-armored boot treads.

I can't see any Star Wars shields holding against relativistic projectiles. It's established canon that single-seat fighters can punch momentary holes in capship deflector screens, and that fighters can pass through full-strength deflectors with no effect.
We also have hard numbers available for the energy in a MAC round. The games and canonized books give us mass and speed for many of them. If deflector screens won't stop a 2-ton X-wing at 500 kph, they aren't going to stop a 100-ton MAC slug at 5% C.
IMO - Star Wars ships massively underperform again basically every other SciFi universe. All of the canon lore shows us that Star Wars ships are basically spacefaring wooden galleons. They often have deck-mounted crew-served artillery, without even centralized fire control. they are heavily dependent upon the human eye for tracking and ranging of targets. They are manually piloted.
I don't think a Republic-era cruiser would stand a chance in an engagement against a 1940s-era real-world battleship, much less against other SciFi universe spaceships.
I’m glad he tried to make it fair and not mention all the nukes carried with the infinity that an all be guided by broadswords that are equipped with missiles and machine gun fire.
Also, broadside battles would result in the Infinity just barraging constant missiles and rail guns at the Resurgent..
