I have been vegan for 5 years, oilfree, sugarfree and salt free. I had a stroke in March after getting a flu and being so sick I almost died! I had zero factors for a stroke. It has taken me months to fight my way back. It is the most horrifying thing I have ever experienced!

I believe Saladino completely messed up his gut microbiome. He has said that even plain sweet potato is disruptive to his digestion. Like most ex-vegans, he was a raw vegan, did not eat enough, starved himself, damaged his digestion, then relies on foods with no fiber, because he does not have enough of the good bacteria that breaks down fiber. Instead of going on blood thinners,,I have gone to one TBS of turmeric a day,,plus I drink non-alcohol red wine to lower cholesterol,,blood pressure excellent and exercise blood sugar under control

Here's an idea for nuts: Costco, and not doubt others, sell salt free mixed nuts. Salt free = less sodium. They are a great snack and you won't miss the salt after a week or two of salt free.

The latest research done since 2010 suggests saturated fat is absolutely necessary to good health and lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease. The journal of American college of cardiology just did a study suggesting not only that saturated fat is not bad for you but crucial to a healthy diet. Also you can check out Dr such as Ken Berry and Paul Mason that I've been talking about it recently. Dr Paul Mason goes into great detail showing that saturated fat will raise LDL but not the type that is dangerous.
I completely agree. The viewer should do their own comprehensive research to come up with what is right for them. This presentation seems to fly in the face of most of what I have found.

Please address ace inhibitors, as opposed to, or compared to calcium channel blockers, in terms of the possible effects on lung cells susceptibility to virus. I know prevention and a whole food plant based diet are the way to reduce the need for all such drugs, but for those, 'not there yet', those still on those medications, does the data show evidence that one class of meds may be 'safer', in general, in terms of this effect on the lungs? Might carefully switching meds, even temporarily, if concerned about covid and at increased risk, due to age, co morbidities, ect, assuming the channel blockers work as well for a given patient, be useful? The 'official guidelines' are, at present, as I understand them, according to a local Nurse Practitioner, if the ace inhibitors are working, controlling BP, for example, don't change them...if not, either change meds or add an additonal med. Although she did acknowledge that the Ace inhibitors do adversely affect the lung cells in some patients. Hmmm... This is all 'above my paygrade', as the saying goes, but I am looking for reliable sources of information on this subject, as several close friends and family members are on some of these meds and are in those higher risk groups. Semantics. If you eat totally healthily consistently and don't smoke and exercise reasonably you're not going to have a stroke (barring weird genetic anomalies).
I am sorry that I have to disagree. Have you not seen healthy people getting strokes? People who are eating right, exercising right, and living right? To insist that if one can "prevent" stroke by doing all the right things, is to tell that person that he or she must be doing something wrong. Potentially this could lead to guilt and morbid introspection. Mind you, I am not saying that cannot reduce the risk of stroke. Certainly you can. But in my opinion, to say that one can "prevent stroke" is really quite wrong. And, as far as "semantics" is concern, if words do not plainly mean what they are to be plainly understood, then what are words for but to confuse?

Sorry to hear that. Eating healthy helps, but doesn't make you immortal. Still gotta get your flu shots and see your doctor on a regular basis.
I've been vegan 16 years, no oil for several, and never use salt. Had a stroke a year ago, still struggling to use my arm, write, and walk

Please discuss AVM and CCM. It is genetic through my husbands family, and my 5 year old just had brain surgery after CCM caused a stroke.

We can't put the blame on eggs alone because these people may be consuming, sugar, processed carbs, unhealthy oil, no exercise etc..
