  • Disc Reading Error? The Disc Can Not Be Read? The Disc is Unreadable? How to Repair a Scratched Game Disc?
For all the questions above it's said there's a way to solve and the disc may be restored. The most common trick for restoring a disc it's with toothpaste, so I tried it.
In this video I used XBOX 360 games discs, but it's supposed work the same for PlayStation 2, PS3, PS4, XBOX One and so on...

There's this method i seen that you take a Kleenex then you pour a little amount of oil on to the DVD then lightly go over the disc it said it should correct the problem I'm going to try it on one of my Gilmore girls DVDs I hope it works 😞

You don’t actually need toothpaste just use isopropyl alcohol

Alcohol would damage discs as it damage the laser for the game console/dvd player so toothpaste is better or sometimes brasso is needed for deep scratches so that’s the backup a fix but it’s a great way go.

@@chrifaranaudo123 well if would cause damage to the lasers which you might even notice it years later so toothpaste or brasso is the way to clean them as they’re temporary fixes but it help prevent any scratches or even reduce them for watching movies or playing video games if you want to keep them or give them to somebody as if 55 to 70% of any scratch is reduced that’s like a heavy one will expand the lifespan. If you ask some people and research about cleaning cds on other websites depending who discusses on cleaning say isopropyl alcohol is the damage for lasers. That’s why I don’t ever clean games and movies with alcohol.

Yeah don’t use toothpaste use plastic polish I also heard car polish works never used it if the disc has deep scratches most likely needs to be resurfaced with a actual unit.

I did this with a game disc, forgot about it for some months, and now it won’t rub off. It looks like some kind of lacquer on the underside now
