A particular cd of mine has been bad. There was nothing I did not do for six years to fix it to no avail. After watching this video, I tried crest toothpaste, applying it lavishly and leaving it for ten minutes before wiping it off with cotton wool (thrice). It worked like a charm to my disbelief.

Will be praying for you for a break through so you can continue doing what you enjoy. Thank you for leaving the TH-cam channel up for us. Take care and God bless you and yours.
I used Aquaphor last night on an Another dvd. Had to use four coats to finally fully play one of the episodes. The problematic scratch was still visible and still pronounced but it played through. So I ripped that last episode and return the dvd to the library.
I didn't have anything else but beeswax, so I tried it. Seems to work. It was 100% pure, got it on Amazon for ten dollars for a small container of it. I use it for lots of stuff around the house, so I decided to give it a whirl. Will invest in a cd repair kit like you showed as well.
I'd love to see a similar test for audio CDs, since being able to hear how much more or less it skips would be a great indication of precisely how much these methods fix the scratches. ofc, depends if you have any lying around ;)

It would have been nice, at the end of all of the attempted repairs, if you had tried the petroleum jelly on the ones that did not repair with the other methods to see if the petroleum would be successful in ultimately repairing all of the discs. If there were still discs that the petroleum jelly could not repair, then the success or failure of each method was more dependent on the individual condition of the disc, rather than the method being used to repair it. It could be that the toothpaste and the magic eraser method might work on some discs, whereas another method might work better on other discs. Just a thought.
Methodology leaves a lot to be desired but given the limited "everything" you did alright Tip: Typical buffing/sanding is done orbitally because it travels repeatedly over adjacent areas in forward motion multiplying actual surface coverage and minimalising potential over pressuring Mind you, 2k grade wetNdry sandpaper followed by 2.5k will fix all scratches and then light buff with no pastes, 3 minutes max 😎
I followed another video which suggested 2K then 2.5K, then some paste. I used a 3K (wet), which actually left it looking pretty scratched. Maybe I did something wrong, but buffing didn't seem to help after that. Some headlight restoration abrasive polish was getting it better, but it was still obviously scratchy. The last thing I tried was neutral shoe polish, which has got the DVD mostly playing, but with the odd glitch. Maybe I'll try the toothpaste and vaseline next.

💀 You just bricked your Playstation. You know that, right? Some PS2s have discrete logic chips that brick the console if you insert an invalid disc into the system.
he could play games after inserting a disc it recognised as invalid. If the console was “bricked” it wouldn’t do anything, except maybe show an error message or a red light. The PlayStation 2 doesn’t brick when you insert a disc it thinks isn’t a game or dvd/cd because of exactly this, Sony would have had to know that the disc reader could pick up scratched discs as an invalid format so of course they wouldn’t lock the entire console over it.

I tried this one too but it didn't work at all. It still did the same thing. How did you fix it with vaseline and was it temporary?
@@Truepurple7 as I remember (cuz I did it 4 months ago) I did exactly like the video, and tried for like 4 times, and then it worked. Actually sometimes the game still freeze during the loading but the 70% of the time it works, before it never worked, so it worth to try
@goku-fp9ik My Wii game is very scratched so the methods didn't work and toothpaste made it worse for some reason. I rather not repeat a method too much because I am just wasting it and it can mess up the disc if it wasn't done properly.
Do we leave the vaseline on or wash it off
I think he just wiped it off
I use the kind of Vaseline that also has Coa-Coa Butter infused into it. I rub a glob in circular motions until the whole bottom surface is coated, then I use a Micro Fiber Cloth to remove all the Vaseline. After that I can stick the Audio CD in my Computer and use DB Power Amp to rip the CD at 320kbps with the slowest ripping speed DB Power Amp will allow. This gives it more time to correct for any errors.
Does this work for the rings?
Should do
Have you heard of the motorized scratch fixer sold by JFJ?
This method made my disc worse smh
For the Ps2 Discs Get Novus 2 Fine Scratch Remover
@@hurricane7727 what about xbox 360? I can't fix my Forza Horizon 1 Disc
10:14 you mean it didn’t buff out the scratches. The skip Dr only ruins the disc layer
Thankyou so much
Maybe your laser in the playstation needs cleaning ..sometimes its not the disk .
The skip dr doesn’t work
a drill and a buffing pad with car repair stuff can fix disc's
im gonna try puffing out with toothpaste then spray it with clear plaint
Did it work
U got PlayStation 2
I'm sure that PlayStation lens isn't pretty either! Thing looks like it came out of a garage.
Me dumping everything he used mario bros wiiiiiiiiiiiii
Thank you
U tried the banana but then it appear ps2 game you also were supposed to use the actual banana and rub it in circles on it lol I literally just tried it with the banana then washing it after with cold water and it booted first try lol
I don't have a few of those.
Yeap my CD its worse
Does some of these work for DVD disc?
Maybe
Yea tried it with scarface if u know what that is
None of these worked for me I don’t have the money for the last thing
Wer Can i Gett The skipp Doctor?😀
Tried the toothpaste and the Vaseline both didn’t work
Keep trying. I made my wii disc for after i put toothpaste on it like a million times.
Was very time consuming but was worth it
This guy needs to learn how take better care of his discs
thanks man
Toothpaste worked for me
Hey thanks! My disc has the same problem as the Tomb Raider disc!
Try put sunscreen
toothpaste wrekt my CD's
It didn't wreck mine but it did make it slightly worse. Toothpaste doesn't completely ruin a game unless you put too much on it.
@@Truepurple7 it al;so depends if your toothepaste has plastic pellets in it and perhaps more factors, im not an expert on toothpaste :p.
It totally wrekt mine tho with bad scratching all over
Toothpaste, to work for me, though
OMG TTYSMSMSM AM SUB!!!
Been trying to make a Traffic greatest hits CD play. The toothpaste didn’t work. My pig brother ate all the bananas. I’ll try the petroleum jelly. I know the lyrics to The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys so if it doesn’t work I’ll sing the parts that skip! DUUUVAL Go Jags
انت غشاش كل الاقراص يشتغلون
The banana thing, you are supposed to use the banana itself, not the peel 🤣
It still isn't gonna work and I am not gonna try it if it didn't fix his disc because mine is in worse condition than the one in the video but it barely boots up.
@@Truepurple7 actually it does, I've done it multiple times 🤣
