It's been a revolation for me. I've just finished taking my 1st month of magnesium, and I'm sleeping for longer than my usual 10 mins per night to now having 5 hrs of deep sleep. My heart palpitations have decreased, and I do have more energy. I am now waiting for the delivery of my 2nd order of Marine Magnesium from The Naked Pharmacy. Thank you, Liz ❤
I've been taking Magnesium for a while now but hadn't noticed much difference with my sleep. After listening to you now I've discovered that I'm probably taking it at the wrong time of day so I'm going to switch to taking it as night before bed instead. Thank you.
I’m mid 60’s & have been using a magnesium lotion or body butter for a couple of years since discovering how important magnesium is for so many things. I have used Better You (I also use a couple of their vitamin sprays) but prefer a brand called OSI. I also recently started taking a liposomal magnesium citrate from Love Liposomal about half an hour before bed & have definitely found it helps me fall asleep quicker. Also being citrate it’s helped with constipation too which is a plus for me! Sorry TMI?! Tastes delicious too so that’s always good.😊
Thank you Liz, magnesium has worked small miracles with my migraines over the past few years. I researched like a woman possessed around 8 years ago and didn't find anything to technically back this up, but with all the other muscular & brain benefits that were medically acknowledged I thought I'd give it a go. I have had to experiment with brands, type of magnesium and mg levels but what a find!!! I had a fascinating test to reveal food intolerances as well, all good I can still drink wine, coffee & eat chocolate phew! But she did say that I was showing massive depletion with magnesium ... and that it needs daily topping up we don't store it. And lastly, dark chocolate sorts out my chocolate cravings and bonus, has magnesium in it 🤍
I bought some the other day and then promptly forgot. I’ll start today. You have shared many more benefits than I knew about. I’ll be taking it alongside my HRT.
I took Mag Glyc but it didnt help with my sleep. Changed to one called Mag Optimiser thats recommended to my husband and worked better. I was amazed. Thanks Liz for your videos, always love them and enjoy reading what others do. Good to share. Xxxx❤
Hi Liz. I've just started taking it so was pleased when magnesium was mentioned in your newsletter. I've checked the bottle after watching this video and found that it's magnesium oxide, not glycinate 😢, so I'll have a look at the supplements you've mentioned. Thanks very much ❤
Woop thank you, just been to Holland and Barrett and got bogof magnesium. The lady said take it in the morning but I want to take it at night. I can’t wait to sleep zzzzz !
Magnesium is needed for atp ( energy production) therefore it can give you energy some sleep good on it taking it at night some get insomnia it’s trying what works for you
I started taking magnesium 4 years ago due to having restless legs and very painful leg cramps at night. It completely got rid of both, I have read more about magnesium over the last few years and its beneficial effects on our bodies and sleep. We have the power to really change our own health with supplements and diet but it depresses me how many of my friends in their 60’s just aren’t interested.
Hi Liz, I started taking magnesium glycine two weeks ago. My sleep deteriorated massively after stopping HRT, I found myself lying awake for hours! The magnesium is working wonders, I'm delighted. I've only been taking 350g so will increase to 500g. I had been on HRT since November 2021, but had terrible hair loss. I put it down to covid but eventually came off HRT March 2024, my hair has definitely improved. Have you heard of this before ? it seems rare as HRT usually promotes hair growth. Thanks in advance x
Glad to hear - and do take a look at this fact sheet from Balance on hair loss for the second part of your question www.balance-menopause.com/menopause-library/menopause-and-hair-loss-factsheet/ ❤️
I do take magnesium. I find it so depressing to hear continually how bad it is for my overall health not to be taking HRT when the doctor simply won’t give it to me. Can’t afford to go private or I would. Maybe they wouldn’t give it to me either anyway. Can’t help feeling all these health conditions are just waiting for me round the corner. I wish people would bear that in kind when promoting HRT. I’m not against it-I’m desperate for it-but I can’t have it and it just makes me feel doomed.
Love this 🫶🏼, I have been taking 2 capsules of the Pure Encapsulation ~ magnesium glycinate which I buy from Healf website , for almost two years now , after listening to one of your podcasts or TH-cam videos on the importance of magnesium 🙌🏼. Ive found taking it at least half an hour before bed has the extra benefits of a better quality sleep . I have also used a number the betteryou transdermal products for many years , as an extra top up , and I also try to consume magnesium rich foods , especially pumpkin seeds , an organic high cocoa chocolate, and lots of dark green leafy vegetables across my week . I do spread the word to all that I feel may benefit, as it’s one mineral that many people will be low in or even deficient and not even be fully aware of it 🤍✨
I take calcium tablets which include Magnesium 300mg I'm not sure if that amount is enough? Which I've taken for years and my bone density results have comeback which mentioned my bones are above average for my age which they feel could be to do with taking calcium supplements from the age of 30, I'm now the grand age of 69. The packaging has a dark and light blue line on the top of the box which I purchase from a well known pharmacy on line and do offers buy 2 and receive the third box free which I find saves money, which I take in the evening. I also use Margaret Dabbs firming leg serum which helps with restless legs which seems to happen when I Retire to bed,the product also firms the skin which I find brilliant! I've noticed it gives a beautiful sheen to my legs too.😊

very interesting but PLEASE stop the edits, the image cuts unneccesarily, you never used to do this, you are wrongly advised, it is very irritating to watch your face jump all the time.... please stop the editing.
Interesting chat as the subject of Magnesium seems to be increasingly in the spotlight lately. I think the thing that confuses most people is which type to take and how much is needed - if you do any research there seems to be different benefits and advice to heed for all of them, so it's not easy to make a personal choice. Also interesting was your chat with 'Better You' founder Andrew Thomas in 2022 where he said that they only use Magnesium Chloride in their products and that he recommends that it should be taken little and often throughout the day, like grazing. However one of the benefits is to aid sleep, so would that make you feel more drowsy during the day? I've been taking a tablet before bed that contains a mix of different types of magnesium (as I couldn't decide which was best!) but found that taking the recommended dose of 2 tablets a day had too much of a gastrointestinal impact and had to go down to a tablet once a day or every other day. Who knows if this is enough, so to I'd be interested to maybe try the Marine Magnesium that you recommend next - thanks Liz!
Very, very lazy video. There are about 10 types of magnesium. Each one has specific benefits. So to talk of MAGNESIUM without specifying which are the benefits of each type is a waste of time e.g the only one which helps with sleep is Magnesium Bi-Glycinate. The only magnesium which crosses the brain barrier is Magnesium L -Threonate and it does help with cognitive functions (it is the most expensive too). Do your own research ladies and do not go for whatever LE is plugging for £££.

Hi can I take magnesium glycinate at the same time as my progesterone tablet. Thank you
We'd advise checking with your doctor if you are unsure as we can't offer individual medical advice ❤️
Will be trying magnesium definitely xxx
❤️
Liz do you take marine magnesium and bio calm complex at the same time or do you switch them?
Liz tends to take her magnesium at nighttime to promote a more restful sleep ❤️

Mostly but do check with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns ❤️

Hmmmm I can't believe you are suggesting HRT
Don't forget, one symptom of magnesium deficiency is heart attack.
Low magnesium levels have been found to be the best predictor of heart disease ❤️
