Truly surprised, taken aback, pleased if I can say that, and excited that the interplay between Phil and Dimebags guitar at the end made me smile and replay it, laughing in appreciation too! Every vocal coach that has reviewed this song has had the same surprised and delighted reaction to the unexpected ending.
As I recall from this time, this song helped an album change the face of thrash metal. Pantera literally redefined (and saved) metal in the early 90's. Sure, other bands kept chugging out their brand and people still loved it all, but Pantera was fresh and exciting and would-be pioneers at a time when there was just the "usual" out there. Hair bands were declining, grunge was a bit different and not as "traditional" Pantera created something that sticks to this day. Thank you Missy for checking this out, Thank you Pantera for helping us (confused) young adults through a weird time by giving us your best. RIP Abbott brothers Darrell and Vinnie!
And 1 more add, someone please tell me (from experience) which mosh pits were worse than Pantera, I simply cannot recall anything more brutal starting in the late 80's in a Metallica pit up to Slayer, Korn, et al... Pantera pits were so much fun and so brutal. 3 times I dove in at different Pantera shows and 3 times I left beaten, bloodied and smiling like a 2 year old with a piece of cake! 🤣
