Extremely intelligent well spoken guy. Your study of the mind is right on point. However photoreading does work. If you use the photoreading techniques BEFORE reading a book the regular way, you will feel like you are just reviewing, because you are.
The subconscious mind will already know what to key in on for you to study because have already perused it.
Also the written symbols called letters are pictures themselves that form into words that are more complete pictures into sentences that are better pictures. You get the point. We know that the subconscious can retain and analyze information much faster than the left brain. Musicians use feel and rhythm to lock into a groove. They are in a alpha state at that point. Music needs to be added to photoreading to get the reader into the alpha state. Anything else that requires repetitive action is done better with music. (look up 432 hz tuning)
Many people can only exercise or clean house when they have music. We need to combine practices that raise our frequency like breathing exercises, super brain yoga, marijuana, meditation, fasting, liver cleanses, high vibration foods, lucid dreaming, sex cultivation, ancestral communication, sun gazing , grounding, aromatherapy, brain herbs etc. The synergistic effects of combining these modalities are miraculous.

That's a lot of thinking. Yeah, like already mentioned in the comments, that's called a memory palace. Though, you can keep the same photoreading technique, and pull your key information from the subconscious, then build your memory palace. I don't think once replaces the other but can go hand and hand. With photo reading there's pen work involved. Once you have the key information noted, then the memory palace trick can work nicely to organize it easily. Computers do this. They have memory and RAM. Ram is the active information while the regular HD stores the info. If the info is fragmented and disorganized, the computer can slow down. Our conscience mind (I like to call Frontal Mind) is like RAM. I think if you keep the photo reading as is then taught people how to remember what they read a year from then with memory techniques you're talking about, then you're on to something.
