  • Hey everyone! We finally got Speakeasy all painted up! We used an incredible product called Monstaliner on our bus. The company was kind enough to send us some t-shirts, extra rollers and some of our paint. We appreciate them very much and are excited to share this product with you all.
    Monstaliner is an epoxy based bedliner, it has some shine, its smoother, doesn't have rubber and comes in over 67 colors and more to be added in the future. It is color fast and uv permanent and won't fade. I know, this is my 5th time using this product and I famously had the first ever Jurassic Park Jeep done with monstaliner. I sold it years ago but I want another one day. This product can be rolled or sprayed with a sprayer.
    They also make Primers and a product called Chassis Saver which can be used as a primer or a rust sealer and preventative.
    You can find more info on their products on their website monstaliner.com
    and you can check out their facebook group Monstaliner Masters, which we are a part of.
    Feel free to ask questions in the comment section below!
    thanks for watching

    This Bus Paint Job is ONE OF THE BEST. I just COULD never afford to buy that much liner! Not these Days, Maybe when You guys Posted this video things were still FAIR PRICES. But NOW Everything has Doubled, and some things ever tripled THANKS TO THE GOV BS! I may just try to the Bottom HALF! Great JOB!!!

      Thank you so much! Last time I checked their prices have stayed the same. It is more than normal paint for sure. But I have seen people do rocker spaces on trucks and stuff in the past with a liner that matches their paint color. If you get it let us know, want to see what you do with it.

    Skookum skoolie! I'd have been too lazy to do the black graphics on such a large project. I'd have probably been doing well to get-R-done in all one color. I like earth tones, gray or black, but that green looks awesome. There were several great tips in this video that are very helpful. Thank you for those!

      Of course! Yeah I like it punchy! But they have so many colors to choose from including neutrals. You can find anything you like when you have 72 colors to pick from.

    Wow, great work! The bus looks amazing and this video was definitely very educational for me as someone looking to do a Monstaliner project in the near future (whenever the supply chain shortages end and it's back in stock). Love the detail work with the black design laid over the green and was great to see how you achieved pretty clean mask lines. I am planning on a 2-tone segment on the hood of my project and was worried about the mask line left between the 2 colors, but it looks like that is not a problem at all.

      @@ontherocks_offthegrid just wondering what approach to take first. Going to be lining a 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I’m guessing that the doors should be removed and whatever else I can take off the car then paint door jams and fittings then come back and paint whole body after doors have been put back on. As far as door jams go did you just use regular liner on jams or did you buy three door jam paint

    • @ontherocks_offthegrid
      @ontherocks_offthegrid  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@christopherfausz2032 if you can remove the doors then do but it isn’t a requirement. Having them open to have the gap between them and the body is more than enough. Grand cherokees often have wiring that makes it harder to remove doors. But if yours have manual windows its likely not going to be hard to remove them. When I did jeeps in the past they didn’t have the jamb paint but doing it today i would definitely use it for the door jambs as its color matched to the liner and thinner than the liner so it wont impede the function of the doors. On a wrangler door are able to be manipulated with the way they sit, Cherokee and grand Cherokee doors don’t have that ability so the jamb paint is a better option. You definitely want to remove the handles and locks if possible, if you find you can’t remove something however mask it off and pull the tape as soon as you put the second coat on and you should be fine.

      @@ontherocks_offthegrid well I have electric windows but have quick disconnects from harness that goes to the body. Was planning on replacing all of the door weather stripping and figured it would be the best time to do so. Just wasn’t sure if buying jam paint was a unnecessary expense as I’ve seen people use regular liner as far as door handles go I think your right and removing door handles would make for a cleaner look

    • @ontherocks_offthegrid
      @ontherocks_offthegrid  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@christopherfausz2032 you can definitely still use regular liner. Those little cans of jamb paint go a very very long way but aren’t a requirement just an option. Sounds like you’ve got a good plan. I’m sure your project will look great.

    You gotta toss a "JP" somewhere on the skoolie as an homage to the jeep.

      I've been using monstaliner on rigs since 2014, I've never had a experience with a bedliner that doesnt fade after being parked day in and day out in direct sunlight except for this brand. basically, its held up incredibly well.

      Monstaliner has I think 6 different tan colors. All of their colors are based on classic automotive paint colors. You can order free paint chips to check them out in person
