This is actually, the 2nd version of this song. The 1st one is just called Pooh Corner. This one he wrote after his son was older. The 1st one is one,of my all time, favorite songs. My sister had it on a cassette and we would go on road trips to pick up records for her boyfriend who was a local singer.. She would be inside of the place and I would rewind it and play it over and over and sing at the top of my lungs. There have been some awesome, songs from the 70's just reminding,me of all thr awesome times I had as a kid.

I've always loved this! It really catches the essence of Christopher Robin, and Winnie the Pooh! My favorite Kenny Loggins composition was "Leader of the Band", a song he wrote about his father. I saw him in concert in the early 80s. A wonderful musician and story teller!

Kenny Loggins was a 17-year-old high-school senior, staring down his impending adulthood, when he wrote "House at Pooh Corner." The song was inspired by A.A. Milne's 1928 book "The House at Pooh Corner," a collection of short stories about Winnie the Pooh and the rest of the inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood.
But by 1970 - when the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band wanted to record the song - Pooh had been turned into a Disney character, and the company's lawyers tried to stop the song from being released. That's where fate stepped in.
The song was also included on Loggins and Messina's 1971 album "Sittin' In." Loggins told the story of "Pooh Corner" to Bart Herbison, executive director of Nashville Songwriters Association International.

If you want to hear beautiful songs Kenny recorded for his son Luke.. It is called Return To Pooh Corner...I was given a cassette of the album by a big burly deckhand when I worked on the tugboat Honcho in the Gulf Of Alaska..he listened to this every night with ear plugs to fall asleep..He also told me if I ever said anything to the other crewman he would throw me over board...I am now in my 70's and still fall asleep listening to the album.

Awfully sentimental about this song. Revisited this song after I watched the movie 'Christopher Robin' which not featuring this song, the movie sent me searching for everything Winnie the Pooh. As an old man, the movie got me misty eyed several times, and the whole story and this song just brings me back to when I was a young boy.

Kenny Loggins seemed to change a bit after having children. I lost my oldest son several years ago, and Kenny Rogers version of "Baby Mine" (from the old Disney movie, "Dumbo") was really instrumental in helping me to grieve the loss. I hope you will find a video/audio of that song. It is SO beautiful and sad. I always had trouble crying for myself (although I could easily cry for others). "Baby Mine" was one of the songs which would always help me to get out and through the grieving process.

A song about childhood memories from Christopher Robins and Winnie The Pooh. It was a 1970 song that Kenny Logins wrote and first performed by 'Nitty Gritty Dirt Band' of 'Mr Bojangles' fame. Kenny Logins and former music partner Jim Messina recorded this song on their own album in 1971. The song was re-recorded in the mid 90's and this time was a duet with Christian/Gospel artist Amy Grant. This song may had been inspired by the A.A Milne book's 'The House at Pooh's Corner' from 1928. That book inspired the late Walt Disney of Mickey Mouse fame to commission some of the animated classics we had grown to love. Kenny Loggins of course has been well known for the 80's theme songs to 'Top Gun' (Tom Cruise movie) known as 'Highway to the Danger Zone' and the theme to 'Footloose' (Younger Kevin Bacon movie!).

I get goosebumps every time I hear this song and am crying by the end... without fail. I think the first time I ever heard it was in 5th grade (roughly 1990) at Catholic summer camp. We were sitting around a campfire and one of the chaperones pulled out a guitar and sang it. Every time we got together after that, everyone would beg for it. The story with Winnie the pooh is really what touches me, ig... growing up is surreal.

This song was included on Loggins and Messina's first album "Sittin' In" and all the tracks are great but next you should hear from this album are "Nobody But You" and "Trilogy: Lovin' Me, To Make a Woman Feel Wanted, Peace of Mind" then from other albums they did "Watching the River Run", "Lady of My Heart" and ""Be Free"".

Watch the movie "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" (1977). Animated kids' movie. Many Disney sequels. He did some soundtrack work. This is one of them.

Try Loggins and Messina...I listened to them in nursing school in 1973-74. Our neighbor up the hill played them at night on the speakers from his band. I went to sleep listening to them floating down the hill. Jim Messina was in Buffalo Springfield and Poco. Check out "For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield. Viet Nam war era. Written by Stephen Stills.

It's funny he compares him to MJ. My top 3 favorite artists are Michael Jackson, Kenny Loggins, and....Nelly.

I grew up with this song and loved it my whole life. I love songs like this, Meet Me Halfway, and For the First Time so much more than Footloose and Danger Zone. His duet with Steve Perry is pretty cool too (Don’t Fight It).
