We watched that movie a million times in my house... and the chorus of I'm Alright always makes me think of the dancing gopher in the hole. I love that memory for some reason. lol

I was always crazy about this tune and thought it was a love song to his woman. I was surprised when I heard him say it was a song for his father. He had a fight with his dad when he was going into the hospital and had given up. This was a way to tell him not to give up.

You couldn't get away from the guy. And just when you thought HE was excellent, he brings in a ringer-Michael McDonald. (For me, THE voice of the Doobies. That guy's got a voice like black velvet.) And here, at my age, I'm back in 8th grade again and I remember how much I hated it. Good thing we had excellent tunes. It's always a little more fun for me with these 70s reactions. It's worlds away from what these young people grew up with and every time, I get that "Yeah, WE did that." feeling. Yes, every single day for over a yr. But it never was a bad thing cause its a great song, just strange.
