    Wow Harri!
"Return To Pooh Corner" had that magical touch that songwriters seldom achieve. Kenny Loggins mentioning Christopher Robin in the lyrics took me to 'Pooh Corner'. A wonderful place in my imagination, Harri.

When I saw Kenny in concert, he finished the night sitting on the stage edge, just an acoustic guitar and we were transported to the 100 Acre Wood. Magical memory.

Although Loggins wrote the song when he was 17(!), he came back to "The House at Pooh Corner" when he became a parent, writing the last verse from the perspective of a man who found his inner child again through the slumber of his son's love for the same bear. Marvelous song writing, sweet lyrics and a heartwarming sentiment.

This is a remake, featuring Amy Grant as a guest. The original recid eas by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and shortly thereafter Loggins and Messina put it on one of their albums. Kenny wrote this song when was only 17 yrs old, still in high school. I believe that the lyrics did not originally include the final verse that is heard in this version, as it was clearly added by Kenny later in life. ("It's hard to explain how a few precious things seem to follow throughout all our lives. After all's said and done I was watching my son sleeping there with my bear by his side. So I tucked him in, kissed him, and as I was going I swear that old bear whispered "Boy, welcome home!")

This was Kenny Loggins first recorded song (he wrote it, Nitty Grutty Dirt Band recorded it). Disney stepped in, saying it was a copyright infringement, since they owned Winnie the Pooh. Loggins was crushed and later that day told his girlfriend how bummed he was the Disney lawyers shut it down. She said, "Disney lawyers? I'll talk to dad." He didn't know he was dating the daughter of the CEO of Disney.

Hi Harri ... I wanted to add some interesting facts ... the book series about Winnie The Pooh is VERY special in that, Christopher Robin WAS the author's (A.A. [Alan Alexander] Milne) REAL son, and he wrote the books for him meaning, his REAL name was Christopher Robin Milne !!! However, all his life, Christopher Robin (CR) hated his dad for it ... 1 of the most beloved children's books in history !!! CR said he started getting bullied when he was 8 because of the books and associated poems but, c'mon, I would've celebrated them and my father for it. Unfortunately, his father died when CR was just 36 years old, and they never did reconcile their differences. That's a sad story, but personally, I'm glad that millions of kids everywhere have heard and loved the books and poems.

"House At Pooh Corner" was written by Kenny when he was just 17 years old. It was first performed by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in1970 & then by (Kenny) Loggins & (Jim) Messina on their album "Sittin' In" in 1971. Love this duo music from the 70's. I had their albums. They had a lot of great songs such as "Danny's Song", "Your Mama Don't Dance", "Thinking Of You", "My Music", "Angry Eyes", "Watching The River Run", "Vahevala", "Lahaina", "Sailin' The Wind", "Pathway To Glory" etc. In 1994, Loggins re-recorded the song "House At Pooh Corner" (with an additional verse) under the title "Return To Pooh Corner".

Mr. Kenny Loggins - another great musical storyteller. If you haven't already, sir, you may want to react to his "Heartlight", a song associated with another lovable fictional character - ET. Even as an adult, I've always loved Winnie the Pooh. My mother had never heard of Winnie the Pooh (I KNOW, right!); but one day, I sat down with her to watch a full-length Winnie the Pooh cartoon movie. Now, my mother was in the final stages of cancer, & she spent most of her time on the sofa in our den, reclining in front of the TV. As soon as the movie started, she started smiling & laughing at the "silly old bear", really enjoying it. She's gone now, but I never see Winnie the Pooh, but I remember how much pleasure such a simple child's toy & a cartoon gave to her. Thank you, sir, for bringing back such a poignnantly sweet memory.

Hi Harri ... Long time since you popped up on my radar !!! This is a remake of his own earlier song, House At Pooh Corner, which was itself, a reference to the book of same title by A.A. Milne. It is indeed about Winnie The Pooh.
You really should hear the first version, and then go and watch (on your own) the "Outside: From The Redwoods" live version to understand why you were requested that version (th-cam.com/video/_iV4mol-Otw/w-d-xo.html ). However, it means more to hear the first one first, and that probably should be the version you let your kids hear. Years down the road, when they have kids, you can introduce them to the second version, because it too, will be a treat for them after only hearing the original in/throughout their childhood.

He wrote House at Pooh Corner when he was 17-years-old. Loggins added a verse years later when his son was born calling it "Return To pooh Corner".

I had only heard the Loggins and Messina version, and although this is nice, I prefer the original.

Playing this to our kids? My husband courted me with this song 45 years ago.

This was originally done by Loggins and Messina, and it was way better than this version.

Lots of misty eyes for sure.
But try and figure out the accompanying acoustic guitar!

A.A. Milne wrote this book about his son and stuffed animals adventures. Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Roo and Tigger really existed in the world of Christopher Robbin! The actual toys are on display at the NY Public Library for kids.
