    Nice video, man! I have the P360 version in my Disco. Going to have a Euro specialty service shop change mine this week but may do my own in the future. Came here to say I'm a Milwaukee guy as well. lol

    Nice job ..I would check the oil level and start the engine for a minute or 2 then turn engine off, check if no leaks under the vehicle before replacing the bottom engine cover.

      This. It's basic practice when doing an oil change.

    Just did this on my wife's P400. There's so much incorrect info in these comments. First, the owner's manual says 8.8 liters/9.3 quarts for the 3.0L gasoline engine. Not 8.5 quarts, as a couple commenters said. I put in 8.8L and the dipstick is right at the full mark. Second, to those suggesting extracting the oil through the dipstick tube and refilling with 8.5 quarts: why would you leave almost a quart of old oil (0.8 quarts) in the engine when doing an oil change?

    Need to remove the oil filter first to allow oil to drain down into the oil pan from the oil filter housing since it’s a cartridge oil filter.

    Agree with all the comments. 27 mm socket, extract the oil not drain and 8.5 qts.

    I know Plastic Coolant Lines/Pipes are a common source of leaks with all Range Rover / Range Rover Sports. Any plans to swap them out preemptively for Aluminum or Steel coolant pipes/lines?

    Always change the oil filter first.
    Then use a vacuum fluid extractor to suck the oil up the dipstick tube. This is how dealerships do it.
    You don't need to jack up the car or remove the skid plates.

      That vacuum extractor is awesome and will change your life. That is how the dealership changes oil. That is probably also why they said you don’t need to change the drain plug washer. It doesn’t get undone when using the extractor method.

    You have to much oil in there, it takes 8.5 quarts, not 9.3

    8 and a half quarts of oil for a L494 RANGE ROVER SPORT 3.0 SUPERCHARGE

    • @drd6539
      @drd6539 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's entirely different. I have this same P400 MHEV 3.0L turbocharged, and the manual says 8.8 liters / 9.3 quarts. The additional oil is probably for the turbos. Superchargers don't use the engine oil for lubrication.

    Wouldn’t it simpler to suck the oil out via the dip stick?

    • @krazyk86cu
      @krazyk86cu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably, but I don’t have an oil siphon and when I briefly investigated buying one I went back and forth trying to pick the best one and said nah fuck it I’ll do it the old way 😂

    Range Rover recommends every 20,000 miles? Dog shit car company wow... I do oil change every 5,000 miles!

      That Castrol oil is fully synthetic and made specifically for Land Rover. I agree that 20k is too long between changes, but that is probably why they say 20k because the oil is top of the line.
