    Guys great video. I very recently bought a 2012 RR Sport so wanted to change oil and filter just so as I knew it’s been done even though service not due for another 6k. Your tip regarding cardboard to deflect oil was perfect 👍…….. and clearly had not been done on the previous service. I thought I had an oil leak but tis just residue. 👍👍

    I'm surprised you're rebuilding these TDV6 engines and not using 5W40 oil. Unhappy to see you're not cleaning the wheel hub before slamming new rotors on it. There is nothing better than put some rust right away on the new rotor while brushing the mounting bracket right there, also no grease on brake pads. WOW, that's how professionals make money.

    M8 , do you know if this model has the pump to extract the oil or you have to do it as you did in the video, I'm thinking to do it myself due the lack difficulty but I Cannot find the connector in the engine to pump the oil out.

    You said something about the Oil type of using on Range Rover Sport especially on this type of motor.
    The book say about a type of Oil and when you rebuild the engine on Range Rover Sport you recommended about using specific type of Oil if i remember.
    Now what kind of type of Oil should be filled up?
    Wich type is better than what the book says.
    All my respect for what are you doing 👏👍

      Ben Fel Spent a bit of time at Jlr dealership and tried oil Vac and sump drain method, oil Vac generally gets more oil out....! Once engine is good and hot that is, to be fair our foreman had a good way doing things where we would always take the car / suv for a good test drive on local motorway (just around the corner) before service or repairs so engines we’re always good and hot!

    hi what oil is it?

  • @michelbonnet3787
    @michelbonnet3787 ปีที่แล้ว

    You have to unscrew the oil filter housing 6 full turns and wait for 2 minutes to drain it...

    • @pistonbroke
      @pistonbroke  ปีที่แล้ว

      No you don't. Just undo it and take the housing out. The lower part will drain once the filter is out.

    Still sounds good, are all these 3.0lv6 engines crap or are they ok with regular servicing?

    • @pistonbroke
      @pistonbroke  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They still fail even with full service history, then you get others that'll do 200,000 miles or more.

    if you dont want to spill your oil, you can suck out the oil from the tube on top of the engine :)

    • @pistonbroke

      That's not the proper way to do it and I don't have a suction thingy anyway.

      That's the way LR recommend, gets more oil out than the draining method ( so LR say ) that's why there is a special tube to extract the oil. My main dealer extracts the oil.

    Easier to unplug the pipe next to the sump plug it's also lower to get rid of more oil you just squeeze the plastic clips & pull no mess & you don't have to buy a new sump plug
