  • Splitting is great for breaking clips apart, but what if you want to bring those clips back together? Enter stitching.

    Is this possible in Camtasia 2021, in a Mac? I do not see the "Stitch selected media" option in my options when I select both clips and right-click.

    What do you mean by the "same media"? Do you mean similar recording settings? Similar Camtasia projects themselves? Or same format (.mp4)?

    I make rain and sound videos for TH-cam. Most of my Audi clips are 1-3 minutes and I need to extend to maybe 1 hour. Sometimes the audio fades a little at the end and I need to overlay the audio tracks so it sounds seem less. How can I do this on the same track? I know I can just use two tracks, but this is more time consuming when copying and pasting.

      Not sure this is something we are currently set up to do on a single track unfortuantely. The Track 1 & 2 method would work for copy/paste if you copy both Track 1 & 2 (already overlappeed) and then pasted both. They SHOULD be able to paste with a slight overlap so you aren't forced to shift anything after it's pasted.

    How to join automatically after cutting a video clip? Why does it always have to be associated with drag?

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Before clicking delete on the split clip, right-click and choose "Ripple Delete" and that will join everything together.

      @@techsmith Thank you 😊 Does it have a shortcut code for MacBook users?

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ripple Delete is one of the few tasks that does not have a shortcut unfortunately, no.

    Can I set it to not automatically stitch everything? I’d prefer cuts for my type of editing

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think there's a way to set that up automatically. If you don't choose to ripple delete it shouldn't stitch things. Also, if you wish to remove a stitch you can right-click and "Unstitch Media."

    Hey is there any way I can combine all clip audio together and lower them down all at once rather than lowering each split clip individually thanks

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You may be able to select them all at once and change their gain in the Properties window (I don't have Camtasia open in front of me to test this), but you can only combine the clips together that are from the same original audio file. If that's the case, then YES! Absolute stitch those clips back together. But if they're different, no, unfortunately you can't, but try the first idea I mentioned and see if that's possible.

    What can I do when this function unfuctional? I have this function written dark grey. Sorry for my bad English.

      You can check two things to be sure this should work:
      1) Are these two clips both from the SAME original clip? They will only stitch if they came from the same media.
      2) Are you sure they're butted up against each other with no frames separating them?
      (Your English was good, no apology necessary!)

    stitch select media is not visibling for me when i selected to clips. & i tried another way by selecting edit tab, also its disabled or iam using command also iam not able to get it, how could i get it???????

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      First question: Are you trying to stitch clips that come from the same original media clip? If not, they won't stitch together. This only works on the same original media being stitched BACK together.
      And also, make sure there are no gaps (not even one frame of black) between the two clips so that they're up against each other fully.
      If it's still not working, and you're on a recent version (Camtasia 2019 or 2020...I can't recall if we had this feature in 2018) then you may want to open a ticket with our Technical Support team here: bit.ly/ts-gethelp

    ı want to copy same video and add it to end. But ı don't want to stop while transition. Cannot we setup transition time ?

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep! You can adjust the duration of your transition, and how far into your clips you set it.

    I am not getting stich selected media option please help.

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Three questions to see if we can help:
      1) Is the clip your'e trying to stitch from the same media? If it's two separate media clips, they cannot be stitched together.
      2) Are you on at least Camtasia 2018 or later? It might also be available as far back as Camtasia 9(WIN)/3(MAC).
      3) Are your clips butted up against each other? They must be touching to stitch, there can't be a frame separating them.
