    3 years later and Zwift still makes it incredibly complicated to use your Apple Watch. Thanks for the video, got it working for my ride earlier and it worked great.

    Great video, but I can’t even get to the first step, can you help? When I open Zwift it cannot see my watch 6 as a power source, it just says searching and doesn’t see my watch, it’s driving me mad! All permissions are on, I’ve restarted both devices, I’ve deleted and reinstalled Zwift. All devices are up to date. When I open Zwift on iPhone it opens the Zwift app on the Watch but still doesn’t show it as a power source. Seems like nobody else has this problem? Have you got any suggestions? Thanks in advance

      Don’t worry, finally worked it out! Needed to be pedalling the bike before it showed up. It seems to keep recording the bpm even when it says unpaired on the Zwift watch app, unpairing and repairing seems to work, but I have read a lot about how buggy it is… at least I managed to get it connected!

    Perfect explanation! A bit fast to understand for non-native English speaking people, but it helps to slow down the speed in the YT settings ;-) ! Great help!

      Thanks glad it was useful - yes using the 0.75x speed setting in TH-cam can help!

    Thank you so much! I spent all day on the internet trying to find out how to pair my iwatch to Zwift through apple TV. You were the only one who mentioned the companion app. It worked like a charmed when i tried it!

    I ran into an issue with method 2, which appeared to be when I was using my AirPods at the same time, the watch wouldn’t connect.
    Disconnected the AirPods and viola.
    Thanks for the informative video, I’d have been stuck otherwise and doubted the method.

      Do you mean after you've finished a session? You don't need to do anything - it won't stay paired if you're not in Zwift.

      Not quite sure why that'd be sorry. My general method to get this working is to delete the watch and iPhone app and start again.

    Hello The Cycling Man,
    I connected to the apple watch and got my heart rate following your instructions.
    But after the game is over, I turn off the Zwift program, my watch still shows "in game", I'm not sure if they are still connected? And I can't find how to disconnect them!
    Can you help me solve this problem?

    • @TheCyclingMan
      @TheCyclingMan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi - you don't need to manually disconnect. Just press the crown to return to the home screen. If you want force the app closed: support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/watch/apda1bf1a95b/watchos

    dont you guys have problems with the apple watch staying connected?
    i sometimes have connectionloss and i have to go to menu and disconnect and reconnect my apple watch to get it working again, ofc then i have to pause my training unintentionally... my wlan ap is standing away ~2m...
    best overall experience (graphics and connection) i got with an apple macbook pro (connected with HDMI to a LG TV) and companion app on my iphone.

    • @TheCyclingMan
      @TheCyclingMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't find it the most reliable method - but still like it as an option. Not that keen on wearing my HR strap on the turbo.

  • @Zucco007
    @Zucco007 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    it's been very hit and miss for me. I just can't work our where I'm going wrong. Some rides it works perfectly for the whole ride and other times it connects if a few minutes then drops out. I have tried limiting the number of Bluetooth connections to my iPhone. I have both the Companion app and the Zwift app on my Watch. Any further suggestions. It should work every time. (Connections: Wahoo Smart Trainer BLE to Apple TV. Companion App on iPhone. Companion App & Zwift App on Apple Watch)

    • @TheCyclingMan
      @TheCyclingMan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a not a perfect solution - since it relies not only on the Bluetooth connection - but also your WiFi - and I imagine that's what's causing your drop outs. If you can improved the WiFi I imagine you'll have a better experience.

    • @TheCyclingMan

      Should be fine - even with Apple TV which only supports 2 BT connections - since the Apple Watch is effectively connecting via the WiFi.

    Hey! Thanks for your video! When using the Apple Watch to a mac running zwift - do you have to leave the zwift companion app showing on your phone? I often just use my phone to watch Netflix if doing a long ride! Cheers!

    FYI does NOT work with Apple Watch Series 6 and PC!
    Edit: Somehow even though it’s 2022 now, this will not work if you are using a VPN or plugged in by a (more stable) Ethernet connection. Honestly shameful.
