While I do agree - she's doing a good job all in all - I do have some small pet peeves about her behavior. For example, when she asks a question from Neil, she uses a commanding sentence structure: "Talk about this and that" without saying "could you" for example. I don't understand why she doesn't use a more polite language. She doesn't sound respectful that way and I really feel she should show more respect to the people she's interviewing. I also find it annoying how she occasionally talks about herself instead of trying to represent a wider audience in these conversations.
@@jcp1984again You seem a little mad for no reason. She was absolutely respectful and the very few times she talks about herself is pretty normal in conversation. Weird comments tbh

I personally think the entirety of the show depends on how well they do the Joel and Sarah aspect. In the game it's so emotionally impactful and sets the tone for the rest of it's story. Joel and Ellie's relationship wouldn't mean nearly as much if it weren't for Sarah.
@@Alleggsander since the first episode has come out, I'm curious how well you think they did the Joel and Sarah aspect. Personally, I was even more emotionally shook by the show than I was the game, in that regard.

This is one of the best LoU interviews. First, the interviewer is knowledgeable and enthusiastic with a broader connection between the series and the game than I have. Second, she connects all the actors to a more holistic view! Well, done! I really enjoyed this!
Great Interview! Just one addition: The Actors who play Joel and Ellie are not “voice actors” but just “actors” . They are not standing in a studio and reading the lines . They go to a set act with their faces and their body’s and that gets transferred to the game. It’s just a minor thing but I think it understates the work these people have done. After all no one would call an actor a “Body Performer”
In the case of TLOU it's true. When you watch the different making-offs, you can see how much they were physically and emotionaly involved. I love and trust Bella and Pedro but I'll always consider Ashley and Troy as Ellie and Joel.
@@otterproof1 for me watching the playthrough with Troy and Nolan on thier TH-cam channel, that was the most telling. Seeing the actors physically and emotionally react years and years after the fact, was not only intense but eye opening.

Neil absolutely nailed why making this game into a show is NOT a terrible or unnecessary thing like a lot of us have said. The fact that, purely by virtue of the medium and the story, you're kinda "stuck" playing as Joel and Ellie and you never get to see much of anything outside of their experiences, but in the show you can go most anywhere is proof alone. It's gonna be fantastic getting to see Ellie's EARLY backstory, to see more of Marlene's story, more of Bill's story, more of David's story (probably my favourite uninfected threat of the whole series, mostly due to the quiet menace Nolan North brought), getting to see so much more of even just that WORLD, it's all going to be great. no matter how many times I see that scene, it makes me teary. it sets the entire game's emotional narrative in motion. it is one of the most important scenes in the entire story. I'd say that, the scene where Ellie runs off after they find Tommy, the part where Joel almost dies and comes to save Ellie, and the giraffe scene are the most important things they have to nail to really develop this relationship.
The Sara scene in the game also gets more powerful because the player has actually controlled her and has connected to her on a deeper level, than if she had just been a character important to Joel. For the show to replicate that, it will be important to have scenes with Sara on her own early on in the episode(s), so we get to bond with her as a living, breathing person, not just Joel's daughter.

What amazes me as a child of the 80s is how my favorite song of basically any era "Take On Me" got into my later favorite ever video game "LOU". Then my hands down pick for best series ever "Game Of Thrones" has two of it's best characters, become Joel & Ellie. It's like decades apart all my favorite entertainment had a love child, By the way their version of "Take On Me" is a stand-alone work of art in its own right and adds to the emotions in the series so intrinsically no other song could have done it. 100% bullseye on everything in my book.
Netflix, Disney & Amazon - take note - THIS is how you make a TV show. I never thought they'd be able to do the games justice... then I found out HBO was making the show, and I was like "ah, cool... phew!"
Gabriel Luna plays EXACTLY like Tommy. If you close your eyes and listent to him you can see Tommy. It's crazy. Everyone prasing Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey (and for a good reason) but i think Gabriel Luna nails it as Tommy.

Great job. Makes it all being more hyped! Druckmann is just a master in creating great character dynamics in order to create an immensly emotional impact for the whole experience. It's great that the interviewer was always highlighting that dynamic aspect especially which makes very sense to retell the story in a series format instead of various movies.
She is going to be an amazing ellie!
Pedro is my new crush ❤. He's just so handsome 😍
Netflix, Disney & Amazon - take note - THIS is how you make a TV show. I never thought they'd be able to do the games justice... then I found out HBO was making the show, and I was like "ah, cool... phew!"
Can't wait to watch it, looks brilliant 👏🏻 huge fan of the games right from the beginning on PS3.
Bella ramsey is sooooo cute I love her I wish I could live with her forever 💙 ❤️ 😢 ♥️ 😢😢😢
Very excited to see more of Tommy! bring on episode 3. Well maybe if you know the games ..a bit longer.
This game makes me cry every time
Gabriel Luna plays EXACTLY like Tommy. If you close your eyes and listent to him you can see Tommy. It's crazy. Everyone prasing Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey (and for a good reason) but i think Gabriel Luna nails it as Tommy.
Pedro Pascal is so good looking dear lord
I’m so hopeful for this show… easily the most impactful game I’ve ever played and some of my favourite actors from video game AND screen!!! Fingers crossed friends
Indeed
I cant f'n wait!!!!!
"YOU DONT KNOW WHAT LOSS IS!"
"You are walking on mighty thin ice"
I sure as hell ain’t your dad.😊
A+ interviewer
She’s a phenomenal interviewer
Got damn the way Gabriel looks in this interview, how he sounds, the way he talks... bruh he's so hot wtf
One of the few new shows we’re looking forward to.
Pedro worked with Johnny Blaze last year and Robbie Reyes this year!
Best show I’ve seen in a long time
YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!
*We're in for a treat with this one, fellow TLOU fans!* Looking forward to hearing the soundtrack by Gustavo Santaolalla, and any changes that may have been done to it for this🤩
Gabriel Luna looks like Tom Holland and Matthew McConaughey, and has the right voice for Tommy.
What a wonderful interviewer, I'm a fan
Great Interview!
Great job. Makes it all being more hyped!
Druckmann is just a master in creating great character dynamics in order to create an immensly emotional impact for the whole experience. It's great that the interviewer was always highlighting that dynamic aspect especially which makes very sense to retell the story in a series format instead of various movies.
I'm curious if it's possible to transport that emotion to the television screen what is really rare when you think about it. And HBO is a perfect choice to reach that goal!
If they succeed we could be witnessing the greatest game adaptation ever.
Let's go!
Olivia from Fringe is Tess ? Loved that show !
Great interview!
GOAT game, if the show is half as good, it will be great
This girl is so f*cking wholesome.
