I’ll admit that I was skeptical of Bella Ramsey as Ellie, but the moment she counted “slowly and clearly” to 10 with her voice DRIPPING with sarcasm in the first episode, I was sold 😂

I feel like this show is going to be really emotional. I am super happy that they went with realistic looking characters that aren’t canon to the game but more canon to irl and not “Hollywood beauty standard” and they focused more on the actors and their talents and how they closely resemble the connection Ellie and Joel had in the game and from this interview you can already tell they have a close bond without even seeing the show yet. I am truly excited

@@hurricaneharvey9053 I mean what they are saying is true. For me personally, in a lot of tv shows people look the opposite of what most people in real life look like. I connect more with the story if everyone don't look like a walking facetune filter.
I found the show runners did the same thing with another production that has proved to be one of my favorites: Chernobyl.

After watching 2 episodes, I'm glad to say the show is great. Sarah was easily my favorite character as they gave her a decent amount more screen time than was in the game. Not to say Sarah in the game was bad, but it was nice to see her character fleshed out a bit more in the show.
I really couldn't get used to Ellie in the show though. She did a great job, but just not "Ellie"
The question at 02:17 is brilliant. This interviewer is so good, asking specific and deeper questions that fans would be very interested in.
I'm so happy with this cast. They really fit the roles perfectly. Could not ask for more!
I just actually noticed how amazingly these two were cast because they actually look alike like father- daughter!😃😃😃
So great to see videos/interviews that explore the themes and feelings and perspectives of the characters instead of "just" the story. Character is what drives story and the complexity of the characters, their dichotomies, them fighting their attachments (both Joel and Ellie fight it) and finally accepting that the attachment IS there is fascinating to watch and very wonderful to see the thoughts the actors and other creators have around the why and how they do the things that build the story.
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are fantastic! And Bella, for those who have negative comments about you, don’t listen to them. You are just great and very good at playing the role
Even though they don't look like the characters I've been playing since Day One of this video game series, I still have hope for them as actor/performers. Ellie is played by a wonderful actress from the GOT series and she did a fantastic job and so did Joel from the same series. I wished he had more air time because IMO he died too quickly. For these two reasons this TLOU series gives me hope.
Pedro does look like Joel a lil bit to me. Bella looks nothing like Ellie, but as long as they do a good job with the roles, I’ll be happy.
At least you admit the actors look nothing like the character in game. There’s a lot of dick riders saying Bella is the perfect Ellie. Like cmon now the show hasn’t even released yet lol
@@poordude2175 I would say Pedro looks quite alot like Joel, people complain about how his beard isn't fully grown but his voice is really impressive and I think he'll capture that Joel element after seeing him in GOT

100% HBO and Craig Mazin will get this story and adaption RIGHT. You have to hand it to HBO - they rarely miss and they show time and time again quality of quantity with their IPs

It's nice to get some game facts as I'm no gamer and never played the game. The story is great, the acting is great and the two leads gel well together, so I don't get why people are hating on Bella Ramsey.

Many people, such as myself, had no idea "the game" even exists, so the idea that these actors do not closely resemble the game characters is a moot point. From what little I've seen of "The Walking Dead" comic books, some of the actors in the show did not look much like their counterparts in the comic books, and that show lasted 10 years.

I liked the show and casting too and I don't have issues with Ellie or Sarah. At least showrunners didn't ruin like other shows (e.g. almost all other game adaptions) but I am not sure if someone who didn’t play the game would like it as I do. Also this same story was told again and again too may times on so many platforms, this feels like they want to make money only. I don't think there is passion anymore. I see laziness here. I am sorry.
It’s going to be great when people who don’t play the games get hooked on the show and then come crashing down to earth when they get into the 2nd game.

Joel looks nothing like Joel to be honest , excited for the series but they could have done better with both characters in the look a like department.
I still can't understand people who say that the actors are not good for the characters because of cgi faces, in your head the talent of the actors doesn't matter, what matters is their appearance that doesn't change the story or the character's essence, imagine being superficial at that level.

I would’ve rather they had Troy Baker, and made him look a little older. At least Joel would have been right on the money then even if Eli had to be someone else. But I am still excited for this series because it is my favorite game of all time we won’t talk about part two. Lol
