I know with cold water immersion. You feel better for hours afterward,. It's an incredible feeling. Your skin tightens up too. Mitochondria are stimulated

Made my own cold plunge for less than $1000. Start with a 14.5 cubic inch chest freezer, ($600-700) about 8 tubes of JB weld ($60) to seal all the seams, ozone generator, ($250) temp controller ($75) to set your number and an air stone to introduce bubbles like you see on your aquarium.
Google or TH-cam like I did and save some serious coin.

Cold water immersion is fantastic for health. Period. However…
Who has the time to sauna, ice bath, repeat, for however long, three times a day? I can’t speak to the sauna benefits, but the cold water exposure is supposedly best at 50-60 degree water (feels much colder than air at the same temp), and the benefits “top out” at three minutes of exposure, 3-4 times a *week*. Your very tap water likely meets this temperature requirement, I’ve not read of any benefit to going colder, and therefor, your own shower, bathtub, or kiddie pool should do the job, and at 10-15 minutes a week.

His butt though was in it's 20s and somebody had to point these facts out, so I graciously and selflessly nominated myself. You're welcome 😂🤣

I have been thinking about getting a cold plunge (never did it before) and found this info on RENU but it looks like someone like myself at 6' tall is going to be crammed in the small space. Looks like you can't even get into sit position and put your legs straight out. Dan in RI

      Dan,
Actually our smallest tank (Cold Stoic Standard Size) is good for people up to about 6'5" and our Cold Stoic 2.0 is good for people up to about 6'7". Our Large Size Siberian works for people of just about any size. We have had people that 6'11" in them with no issues. I'm 5'11" and 285 and fit very comfortably in them. There is more room than it may appear. They are just made for sitting instead of laying down as the sitting position works better for most breathing and meditation exercises. Feel free to reach out to us if you would like to discuss this further, but I believe you'd be pleasantly surprised at how much room there is.

@@RENUTherapy thanks. So what size should i get if I am 6' and i have a few friends that are 6'4" and 6'6" tall and my wife is 5' tall. Has anyone gotten reliable numbers year round (in the northeast) on monthly operating costs?

I would recommend our Cold Stoic 2.0. The taller friends might be a little tighter in there, but they will fit just fine. Remember, a huge part of cold plunging is getting out of your comfort zone as well. Operating costs are really pretty low. These units run at less than 3 Amps and about 350 watts, so they aren't too bad. You'll notice a small change on your electrical bill but I wouldn't expect anything too dramatic like adding an air conditioner or anything like that.
