Exactly. What a f***ing selfish drama queen. It was none of her business and obviously not her call. Not to mention that it was clear that however the boy was hit, there was clearly no significant injury. Ostapenko got a code violation which was entirely appropriate. Ridiculous and pathetic for an opponent to argue for a DQ. If you wanna make those calls, then become a chair ump.
Not an easy way out. But fairness. It could have been her and she could have been penalised heavily. Of course we wouldn’t know if that will be the case, that’s why she wants fairness.

I find it amusing how people seem to be able to read minds...
@@Cain113 I stand corrected, she intended to throw the racket at the ground once she saw she couldn't reach that ball, but changed her mind and tried to stop herself in the very last millisecond, which caused her to lose the grip and even miss the ground. Brody's behavior was still a disgrace. What a terrible person.
@@bjornlangoren3002 bad observation
@@bjornlangoren3002 even if she wanted to throw it on purpose calling a person terrible because of that is just miserable... You are the only disgrace here
@@Cain113 do you understand names? The person I called Terrible was Brody. You know, the one who demonstrably interjected herself to lobby for disqualification, when it had absolutely nothing to do with her. There is no mind reading involved in that. She used words so we could hear what she said.
Are you drunk, or just a bit slow?
She clearly did not throw it AT the ballboy. Yes, she threw it intentionally but her head was down and she didn't see him standing there. It hit him accidentally. She waved to him immediately indicating it was an accident.
Negligence is still negligence and she didn't see him standing there? You mean the boy that was standing there the whole match?
What’s the difference? She was recklessly negligent. She threw it at an area she she knew had people in it.
The point is she shouldn't throw it in first place are you thick
So Broady wanted to steal the match without playing ? wow
Yes so much drama and yet Ostapenko is way more successful now winning the French Open 2017
I mean Ostapenko deserved to get DQ'ed and lose the match, but that was not broadys call, and she was so desprate for a free win what a loser
And after Ostapenko gave kasatkina a bad handshake at the 2017 us open, broady put on Twitter that Ostapenko should be fined
Lol craaaaazyyy
I admire the interviewer's professionalism at the end of the Match. He did not make a mention of the Ball Boy incident and kept what is relevant in the match. A lot of interviewers would have milked that incident for sensationalism.
SPIRIT DOT She did not throw it directly at the ball boy. She did throw the racket but did not aim it at the ball boy. I think at her level of play and physical control of the racket, had she intended to hit, she would have hit him. I agree it's was unsportsmanlike conduct and she was penalized by receiving a code violation. That was settled in the match as the ball boy was not hit and not a actual offense to disqualify someone. Unless it was a repeat offense. Her opponent made it abundantly clear how she felt about it during the match.
Not really relevant to the match an no reason to bring it into the interview. Btw calling someone an. " Asshole " just because you disagree with them does not sound like proper protocol, on the subject of sportsmanship but if that is the way you want to conduct yourself.
carrychris2010 I admire your discretion by not telling mother I hadn't been cleaning the motel because I was watching the tennis: Thankyou 😈😉
Norman Bates your secret is safe with me. 😉
it's why you are here
carrychris2010 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
NO! No doping on the tour!! Just observing these last years an increase in violent incident by players. It must be the moon or the COVID. No doping. Juicing is not gir tennis player. Nope.
Broady is not the umpire!
And why she cries the whole time?!?
Because she wants Osta disqualified and win by default. Not the best mentality
She was sad for the injured ballboy
omg... she didn't mean to. The opponent is a twat for making such a fuss over it. She obviously wanted her punished to gain an advantage in the match.
exactly. Why is this relevant to the girl in pink AT ALL?
She always complains in her matches, shes weak minded if you ask me, always seeking easy wins over others.
exactly... I'm suprised the umpire didn't say to her get a grip women... or maybe he did
Doesn't matter the intent. Tim Henman was disqualified at Wimbledon when he unintentionally hit a ball kid with the ball after losing the point.
If the racquet had actually hit the ball boy, I would agree that she should be penalized, but it didn't.
“Id like to speak to the manager please!!”
"I would like the rules enforced please!"
5:52 Broady went Karen-mode 😂
This video captures the difference in mentality between a GrandSlam winner and top 10 player, and someone languishing outside the top 100
Sorry.
+Christopher Fitton The racket wasn't thrown deliberately at the ball kid.
Alan Chong not at the kid but, deliberately.
To my eye, Ostapenko released the racket in frustration and oughtn't have done that, but the throw and the contact with the ball boy were clearly accidental. In my judgment (and I guess the ump's) she would have been unlucky to take a DQ in that situation. In any event, the difference in mentality is displayed by what happens after that unfortunate event: 17 year old Ostapenko is contained and composed even when being berated by Broady, while Broady comes across as emotional (she's even in tears), petty and out of control. Fast forward a few years and Ostapenko is #6 while Broady is #130. Amongst other things (talent, work, etc.) their mental games must be on a different level, and you can see that in this video.
Alan Chong Obviously ostapenko knew that he could not hit the ball. Then the idiot threw her racket at the ball, doing a stupid act. It was not by accident. It's similar to what nadal did recently in a game, the ball was too high and he knew he could not get there, so he threw his racket into the ball. But the idiot of ostapenko wanted to do the same and hurt someone, Worst of all, she did not apologize. Shapovalov was disqualified for doing something similar but with a ball that accidentally hit a judge.
Broady: Hell with the ball boy.. Lemme see if I can make anything outta it
Who is here after Novak Djokovic got disqualified from US Open 😑
Bruhhh, obviously the FBI, coupled with the algorithm, is going to bring all of 2020 here
Meee
Yes watching this video makes it ridiculous that Djokovic got disqualified.
Quentin Quentin two big difference. It looked like the racquet barely missed the ball boy. And secondly this was during the point.
@@gozer825 the racket hit the wall and then the ball boy. this girl fired the racket in anger. djokovic did not hit the ball in anger, he was just getting rid of the ball and hit it to a bad place. the difference is just the reaction of the individual hit.
6 years later and Ostapenko is a grand slam winner and has won many big titles while the other one is nowhere to be seen .
But still she threw the racket intentionally……it was so wrong, and she should have been called out for that by the umpire
What other many big titles has Ostapenko won besides the French open you`re speaking of ?
@@Richardtv1968 Ostapenko threw her racket intentionally but she wasn`t aiming for the ball boy.
Ok why was this recommended, its like watching paint dry.
Same
Actually I've watched paint dry the past two days and enjoyed it immensely. I plan to do it again tomorrow
I agree..just keep playing ...you can tell it wasn't meant to hurt anyone !
efcpl I agree. Taupe paint. If I wasn't drunk and had anything else going for me in life,I would have just looked at something else.
It's like watching sports- and to the above.. I'm also slightly drunk and have little going on.
And now Ostapenko is RG champion while you can remember Broady for this. Cute
Broady is such a crybaby lmao
Cry baby!
She was right. Sorry not sorry.
She was right, it's not just about her the lines people should not be treated like cannon fodder
@@paulatling8844 Accident bro, not cannon fodder, lol. Broady showed she's a real jerk.
@@roybaty7439 check the rules just because you are a top ranked player doesn't mean it's OK to randomly throw your racket around with any thought of the little people, yes the crying was over the top but I respect her sense of fair play. The umpires are there to apply the rules not show favoritism
As a tennis player, I am not sure why she even swung the racket, the ball was way out of reach. Seems like she got frustrated and threw the racket.
She did let the racquet go but she wasnt throwing it wanting to hit the ballboy! Broady won the point what the hell does she want? Why is she complaining!? I mean it wasnt right obviusly but you are not the one who has to complain!
+Raul Cercea she was trying to get the umpire to see that it wasn't an accident as the umpire wasn't go to punish Ostapenko for trowing the racquet. i know she wasn't aiming for the ballboy but still she shouldn't have thrown it and good on Naomi for stepping up for that ballboy who did get hit because that girl shouldn't have thrown the racquet so i agree with Naomi the girl needed to be penalised for it
+Jordan francis She clearly wasn't concerned about the ballboy's welfare. Her entire rant was about getting the other girl disqualified. Broady was shameful and dishonourable.
For example a few years ago a player was suspended for months because they hit a lines person with a ball. It wasn't intentional but it still happened and the player was punished.
Shane Terry you're making up stories. Send a link with your sources, idiot.
+00 00 www.inquisitr.com/887585/olga-puchkova-defaulted-after-hitting-line-judge-with-ball/ why would I make shit up? Idiot
Not accidental but she wasn’t aiming it at the ball boy...
I play tennis a lot. N yes ur racket will leave ur hand every once in a while. Your grip is tired. Sometimes I swing in the air. Because of emotion n it slips out because of the sweat. Anyone who plays a lot of tennis knows this. The winner was overacting trying to get her opponent eliminated. Come on. Sachets slip all the time
Agree
@@marcmanmg Tell that to Novak Djokovic. Who unintentionally hit a lines woman and got defaulted out of a match.
It doesn't matter, players are penalized all the time for stuff like this. Or was he expecting her to say "yes judge, I did it on purpose"
@@marcmanmg Agreed but a warning was too small of a penalty. Intentional or not, if you hit an official with your equipment, the penalty should be minimum a loss of the game. Because, at a minimum, she failed to control her equipment. I'm with Broady on this one.
Years later when I need a laugh, I come back to this video. “You hit the ballboy with your racquet!!!” 😹
It's forever timeless 🤣
?? Let's be honest folks, if Ostapenko wanted to throw her racket and was aiming for THE BALLBOY then he would have been hit... she simply had a minor temper tantrum and in the moment threw the racket in a random direction, (of course it presented an opportunity for much needed sensational televised 'drama' and unfortunately, it caused her to lose focus on her game.)
Why the fuck does Broady care what the fuck happens, what a poor excuse of a human being. She is just trying to jump on any opportunity she gets... She nearly started crying as well ;D
Well duh. Welcome to the world of sports. You get any advantage you can get.
HilzGaming she won anyway so fuck off.
