The Tennis match that turned into a circus show! One of the craziest and most bizarre matches ever, Nick Kyrgios vs Kei Nishikori, and the most badass umpire in tennis history, Mohamed Lahyani! - กีฬา
You're right on the money Wivo. Two players with distinct playing styles & opposite personalities makes this game fun & unusual to watch. But highlighting Mohamad Lahyani is so unexpectedly amazing. As tennis fans we have our favourite tennis umpires too. My friend your content is unmatched. You surprised me. Thanks a lot. Bravo.
Thank you dear 🙏 ❤
Kyrgios shows little respect for this Gentleman Sport: Gentleman sports are usually considered rough and tough, but also imply honor and class.
There is nothing honorable nor classy about Kyrgios. He is a blight on a wonderful sport.
Mohamed Lahyani is truly the GOAT of umpires. He is focused on the match and doesn't let his ego get involved- like so many other umpires do.
Sometimes he does make it a little too much about him - that match with Rune on clay last year where he made some dodgy calls and was being a bit extravagant shall we say.
@@huzcer No one is perfect, Layhani does make mistakes like everyone else, but he's overall a fantastic umpire.
@@huzcerlmao and rune is fantastic right
@@mustafakilic8693 rune is not an umpire
@@huzcerand lahyani isnt a player whats ur point. if ur trying to convince me that lahyani isnt a great umpire i dont wanna hear it.
Nick has matured since this. He is now acting like a 14yr old😅
Still an improvement
🤣🤣🤣🤣
LMAO!!! 😀😀
How dare you disparage 14 year olds!
He’s done mate - he’ll never play professionally again - too many health issues and unable to handle the mental side of the game - Di Minaur is easily replacing him
He was a real jerk to the ball kids in this match
The Muppet is some role model for youngsters huh!
@@filipina5953 I've never seen someone claim he's a good role model, but he sure is entertaining.
@@HungryCakeMonster You are right but when I go to the tennis I don't expect a circus show. He was a jerk period.
But, I've always argued he could have been one of the all time greats had he been gifted with a work ethic as good as he's talent.
He's just a jerk.
Amazed at Nishikori's class and composure. ◊
Rafael Nadal didn't think the same of him in the Olympics
He's asian
Nick's such a narcissist with tremendous anger issues and always distracting, so unfair for the opps having to put up with his behaviors for 2 hours. Best win, Nishikori.
Which all makes sense with the domestic violence case against him by his ex. We call Zverev an assaulter.... Kyrgios falls in the same bracket.
@@5ammy13 Your innocent until proven guilty the fact that you believe some random ahh who has 0 proof and is chasing people for money is crazy. It literally happens to so many famous people and 99% of the time the person accusing them has 0 proof of anything and they are chasing for money and clout.
@@monkeyplayzroblox4674 Patently false. That’s terminally online person thinking. You have no clue the inner workings of the vast majority of legal cases.
Mics a jerk
No one missing this wanker
Mohamed Lahyani has the perfect amount of patience and humor to deal w the temper tantrum toddler that is Kyrgios. Had the pleasure of meeting Lahyani at Indian Wells - he's a lovely person of court too.
I'd give anything to have drinks with Lahyani and other umpires. The stories and perspectives they must have but cannot publicly share must be a treasure trove.
@@theDunamis that would be amazing. we rode the hotel shuttle together. I should have stalked him ; )
"I give you the benefit because it's a good shot." Boss-level chair-umpiring.
That is exactly how i handle my 6year old. Explain everything to him in detail to avoid a temper tantrum.
Lahyani always with those little coaching comments which I honestly love lol
Got him in trouble. He knows he isn't allowed to do that.
@@rrahmanovyeah “i want to help you” then Kygs wins
Nishikori: work hard in silence and let the performance make the noise.
Kygios: reverse the above sentence.
Noise the make performance the let and silence in hard work...
This umpire is one of the greatest umpires in the game of tennis. Nick was going crazy and his behavior was pathetic.
Nick may be skilled in tennis but still a baby emotionally.
And intelectually
This was almost 9 yrs ago. I’m sure you were the paragon of calmness and virtue when you were 20, right? /s
@@kabob21is he any different now?

Yes He Is.
Matured, As Seen With His Interview With Piers Morgan.
A Lovely, Warm Interaction.
NICK Is My Man.
@@mariacharalambous3368people can back differently when emotions play a role. Lots of tennis players smash racquets etc but are they bad people in general? No
Can someone please buy this guy some counselling sessions for his birthday ?
Kyrgios got attitude.
The way he said "Water bro, Wateeeeer"
Bro they're not your slave.
Kyrgios is an insufferable tool who thinks the world revolves around him. I was so disappointed that the Break Point series spent so much time on him. Really feeds an ego that doesn’t need any help getting bigger.
I was so disappointed with Break Point. It made him look like a monster. You obviously believed it. He didn't have to go on. Most players refused. The ones who did go on it put their necks on the line for the good of the sport. And look what it did for their careers. Netflix highlighted only the worst part of them. We saw nothing else. And you believed it!!!
@@sportslover2356 LOL my opinion of Kyrgios was *not* formed by the Netflix show, I've paid attention to his behavior and words (from his own mouth) for years and I can't stand him. That's why I was disappointed that the show spent so much time on him.
Have you had a look at the many podcasts he made last year? Jay Shetty On Purpose December 2023; All the Good Trouble podcasts; Mke Tyson; Rich Eisen; The Pivot...they all shed light on someone you have judged as one-d. Of course if you're not into background then you're a lost cause@@rogersmj
@@sportslover2356 Interesting, because all of my family members other than the ones that played tennis think that Kyrgios is just misunderstood and they all love him due to how Break Point depicts him, so you may be one of the only people to think Break Point makes him into a monster. What makes him into a monster, is his terrible attitude towards tennis and how he displays that on court.
This big baby thinks he is so entitled. Poor soul 🤭🤭🤭
Lahyani is well loved, even when he technically coached Nick mid-match and got suspended for a while, still love his demeanor and positive personality.
he got suspended for telling him to not let one call break his concentration? That's a little ridiculous, the umpire's job is also to maintain order in the match, which is what that comment was trying to do.
@@zbabyg6998No, the coaching incident was a few years after this at the US Open.
Honestly my main takeaway is that i really miss Kei
Look, Tennis is and can be a very frustrating sport and you may do things like breaking rackets and stuff on court, but the way Nick denies having thrown the bottle by saying it slipped out of his hand is shameful. Very very shameful. Take responsibility for your actions and apologise instead of giving ridiculous excuses that cannot be true.
lmao its a joke, he is an entertainer sports only hold value because they are entertaining, people like you are why tennis is falling behind and does not captivate the younger genration's attention. Nick is good for the sport he is funny hits big and is controversial.
Bro every Sport can be frustrating its more of a question of your self control
@@Malloch_Huias entertaining as a clown
The comment "slipped out of my hand" was a joke. You ACTUALLY think he was trying to use that as an excuse? What planet are you from?
@@OldSkoolLegend Didn't hear him ever owning up to what he did.. so yeah whatever you wanna call that mate, that was a piss-poor way of being mature. In fact it is outright disgusting that he tries to make a joke when he did something dangerous and should be apologizing. Apology is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of accepting your actions and learning from it, and more than that, it's about being responsible for your actions. So yeah, you can call it whatever you want, but it's not gonna change the fact that it was absolutely and utterly childish, immature and disgusting.
Look how Layani just speaking from common sense, not a single negative emotion or thought. Handling young Nick with his crazy behavior.
Literally the most professional umpire out there.
"It slipped out of my hand".... LMFAO
I love Lahyani, such a good umpire. Even the way he talks to the players is great.
Narcissistic Collapse: The textbook.
The umpire is correct about the angle for the center line, it's not easy to judge that or the far line from where he is sitting.
I do not like Nick and it amazes me that anyone lets him play in tournaments. He hurts the game and is a person who does not deserve the talent he has.
He can't help having talent any more than you can help being a beautiful person. He hates being talented and hates people hating on him. Watch Jay Shetty On Purpose, December 2023 - and all Nick's subsequent podcasts in which he tells you why.
@Peteherrera1502 You're exactly right. And I think the second part of your comment answers the first. He IS so talented, which gets him into the top 64 (or 128) to play with the elite. They can fine him, even suspend him for a few months (e.g. Zverev, Shapovalov) Additionally, unfortunately, I believe a lot more people than I would like to imagine like to watch these train wrecks. (maybe to see what he'll do next.)
Forget about his immaturity and narcissism for a second. If he actually practiced, had a coach, and ½-way listened to them, imagine how good he could be combined with his innate talent. That's what kills me. Wasted talent.
He would be in a lot more Major Finals than just the Djokovic loss.
Lastly, I could swear I saw him Hosting a Tennis talk show. Know anything about that? And who risked their career pitching that one?
i remember when that netflix series came out this year there were hints of Nick and friends trying to explain why he is how he is or initiate sympathy like he has the monopoly on excuses, just made me hate him even more. I struggle to think of many athletes with a chip this big on their shoulder
its unbelievable how nice the umpire is
In hockey if you start mouthing off to the ref you'll get a unsportsmanlike penalty. In tennis it seems like the umpire is a meek parent too afraid to discipline his spoiled child.
I never understood how tennis would even have someone like him in there sport such a bad look
How did Nishikori manage to stay focused haha
The absolutely worst behaved guy temper flaring, F bombs everywhere, constantly snapping at ball kids playing against one of the most naturally well behaved guys I don't think Kei could be a brat even if he was trying to, talk about a study in contrasts.
Pro tennis would collapse in a month if the majority of guys acted like Kyrgios.
Giving a call on your own first serve because the return was so good hoping for your seconds is really low low attitude
that was the best comedy show for today :D
I don't think I have actually witnessed a melt down before, this was crazy.
amazing editing, great video!!
Thank you so much ❤️
He's always been my fave umpire. So warm, yet knowledgable.
Not sure why this umpire is engaging with this Kyrgios player over circular argumentative arguments - just dock him a point every time he loses his rag !
He's a punk. If he wants to act that way toward the officials and supervisor it's one thing, but treating the kids like trash is worthy of a visit to the woodshed.
I hope Kyrgios has retired from Tennis 😂
Now you are left with all the nice college educated boys who hit a ball over the net and back. Not a passion or a flair to be seen. Someone did an underarm the other day and the crowd booed. Someone did a tweener and the crowd looked confused. Back to the dark ages.
@@sportslover2356You think stupidity and rudeness is passsion? 😂
@@sportslover2356what a narrow minded observation on your perception of ‘passion’. Since when did uncontrolled rudeness/narcissism and poor behaviour have anything to do with ‘passion’?
One day he's going to act up and it will have consequences
Umpire is fantastic. William to show a little grace and humor and explain his reasoning. It’s a tough job because these calls can affect matches but he seems to do well and isn’t the slightest bit arrogant about his calls.
MOHAMED LAHYANI Y'ALL WHAT A MAN
10:42 Bernard Tomic is so gormless.
Do you know anything at all about Tomic? His background, what he went through, how good he really is... Educate yourself.
Challenging your own serve because the return was amazing is absolutely hilarious to me... especially because the serve was in 😂
Loll
The better man won this match! Kyrgios has no manners or respect, not even for the ball boys! 😡
You post great content! Thank you!
I appreciate that! Thank you for the kind words ❤️
I think in Soccer and Cricket an umpire never has to please, pacify or stoop down to a player.Umpire is being too kind explaining his decision not required.
in tennis the players have so much influence that they can cancel umpires if they dont like them. Sounds good that players have a lot of influence but thats the reason umpires with one leg are kicked out if they take a stand against celeb player shitheads like Kyrgios or Serena Williams.
@@listrahtes 🙂oh thats news to me as I am not a follower of tennis but believe that umpire needs to set equilibrium to the game giving confidence to players and viewers that the outcome was fair and not due to favourtism or undue imfluence🙂f the players
Well, one thing we learned - great a player as Kyrgios is/was, he's fine to umpire if you're willing to make the high maintenance required. Hopefully Nishikori was so well looked after too.
I wouldn't use the term "badass" - I thought he handled the situation(s) superbly. If he'd been badass, the match would have been over by default halfway through the second set, and nobody would want that. Brilliant umpiring.
"slipped out of my hand" 😂
“It slipped out of my hand” is crazy lmao
4:29 This is exactly how immature Nick is. At international level, he lets ONE single serve call destroy his concentration for entire set.
"Don't let one call destroy your concentration". That's coaching. Illegal from the coach and even more from the chair umpire. I like Lahyani very much but he overstepped his role here big time. Umpires are suppose to keep the calm and control situations. By responding to guys like Kyrgios, he taunting the beast.
Absolutely agree. He wanted to calm Kyrgios down. It is not his role to calm him down. That’s on Kyrgios and if he cannot, well, The umpire should send him home.
Shangai court in outdoor conditions its very rare to see, beautiful
The umpire is a saint.
Nick kyrgos is heavily in debt by Citibank...😂😂😂
Was anyone watching this rooting for Kyrgios. Respect to Nishkori and the very patient umpire.
What a CRAZY match that was holy Jesus 😂
Nishikori wishing don't play again with Kirgyos in a long time 😂
I was kinda waiting for muhamed (sorry for spelling) to say " some water for the kid " like in the title but still intersting to see nick get angry so fast, but still understandable.
The ball kid did nothing wrong , he didnt tell the ball kid first that he wants another water. Pretty pathetic to get angry at the ball kids for no reason cause he cant control himself🤦♂️
@@user-yz6cm7up7n Yeah true it ain't fair to get angry at ballkid btw i said understandable not bcs of the ball kid but bcs he was losing
@@hackerlurcker8675 i think he was losing all of a sudden because he was angry, before he got angry he was destroying him.
Nice one !!
That was a quality match
I really miss watcing nishikori play. He is such a complete player. he has a great class to him as well. Unlike the current and next gen. Also miss milos raonic play. kyrgios will grow up one day and be ashamed of his disrespect.
Like goat federer said. We need some Clowns here
Therefore now gentle man going on permanent rest 😂😂😂
I get that he makes everything worse but that starting clip “it slip out of my hand” makes me LOL hard
0:01 u got him all wrong. He just trying to dot the Ts and cross the Is.
Everything Kyrios does we would known in Australian media.
what a man child
Let's redirect some of the (deserving) shade on Kyrios' conduct and shine some light on what a treasure Mohamed Lahyani for this sport. Look up gracious in the dictionary and he'll be there smiling. Respect.
I tried to drink and it slipped out of my hand... Come'on bro, come'on... You are not 5 !
However him challenging his own serve was pretty hillarious
His upbringing is impeccable lol, his parents must be really proud of their son lol
We can see in the eyes of Bernie at 10:42 how smart the double partner and friend of Nick looks ahah... I guess we chose our friends and partners 😅
Kyrgios married Moutet and the best man was Paire😂😅
The UMPIRE was to fair to both players ....and gave reasons why he called what he called ....thats why NICK respected him
Young kygrios what a expletive beep ...😂
I would love to see Nicks face if the ATP banned him and he no longer made any real money. Then the ATP could say, of sorry it was an accident it was just a slip of the mouse and we hit the ban button and can’t reverse it, whoops! He’s a disgrace to tennis.
This was hilarious 😂😂. What a gem
6:02 kyrgios hit his backhand before the call came, the fact that shot was out meant the point should be Nishikoris. Ump claims call was at the same time but really he is giving Kyrgios his metaphorical bottle to avoid the tempur tantrum.
9:30 line judge rules in favor of Kyrgios yet again, having them replay a point that should have been given to Nishikori. The point would have been replayed, but kyrgios challenged the shot Nishikori "I am challenging anyway" shot was in yet they still replay the point?
it was like kinda wholesome tbh
Someone did a bad job raising Nick.
I didn't realize that Kyrgios has been a jerk for such a long time
At least he’s chill now
I hope we see Kyrgios never again.
Sadly, the relentless subtle cheating by Kyrgios makes even a seasoned umpire like Lahyani make decisions in his favour, like the replay the point when Nishikori's shot was in, and the Kyrgios return was out. That was clearly Nishikori's point
It’s unbelievable how common it is now to see adults who cannot regulate their emotions.
What a humble guy
Lahyani is great. He can make mistakes too but his consistent accuracy, professionalism, sense of humor and objectivity makes him stand out as one of the best umpires - especially after this past week on clay. I wanna dislike Kyrgios b/c he can be a douche, but challenging his own serve was HILARIOUS. The guy does have a sense of humor and doesn't take himself too seriously.
I would not want to be a ball boy in a kyrgios match😂
8:13 "how can you give me an un sportsman like?" I don't know maybe because you played the ball, after the point and damn near took out a line judge.
Crazy how he was battling himself that whole match.
Always satisfying when good defeats evil.
I thought he would be great as big as the “big four” He’s such a good player, it’s a shame
I’ve never watched tennis before, so I don’t understand much of what’s going on. But I think I may take up watching the sport just to see the games this guy lost, lol! He is so insufferable! The opponent seems quite humble though, and I love the referee (forgive me if that’s the wrong terminology) who seems very compassionate, fair, and patient.
Welcome to the tennis world, Daleri!
@WivoRN
Thank you! I’ve watched some of your videos after this and I’ve truly enjoyed watching the sport! Thank you for putting out interesting content that persuaded me to find a new interest. 🥰
@WivoRN
Also, my favorite thing in any sport is witnessing humble players, good sportsmanship. I really liked Nishikori, he seems kind.
Kyrgios, one of the worst ambassadors for the game, ever.
Nick asking for the supervisor, karen identified.
I hope Kyrgios watches this video after many years and realizes what an utterly jerk he was
I agree with having personalties on court. But Nick always took it too far, at the expense of others.
Imagine if he had chosen a team sport 😂😂😂
What year was this? Kyrgios looks young.
