Seeing this become “trendy” is pretty funny to see though, even I have some “gorpcore” outfits although it’s not because of the trend, it’s because it rains a lot 💀

Skating is more popular than ever, so Vans aren't going anywhere. I do think the spotlight is more on clogs, mules, loafers, chunky boots etc than sneakers at the moment.
Stussy Vans and straights will never go anywhere when you're in a major coastal city. Never got too crazy with sneakers or tops in general, good durable hoodies, splurge on a winter jacket then get a value one. No more than 2 fall/spring jackets, all purpose boots and you're good. My guilty pleasures being 900 newbies and judge me all you want, i got into Carhartt wip pre panny like 2018 lol
just wear a really baggy black cargo or black jean, a stussy, carhartt t-shirt or fleece if its winter, some dunks, jordan 1's, maybe 4's or 550's but a unique clean colorway, and if you have a bigger budget, ramones or maybe moon boots, again baggy one colour pants, and alyx or balenciaga hoodie, but thats kind of extreme but still, it's amazing. In that way u'll be in fashion and having drip for a long time

@@eblaze143 I hadn’t heard of Goldwin, but just checked the site and really like what I see. Thanks for the recommendation!
I wanted malibu sweat shirts and bullet proof vests back then😂😂😂😂
at the end of the day wear what you want. don’t follow trends just because it’s “in” especially don’t wear something because it’s “not in”
Great comment! I agree and actually have been thinking about some videos ideas on this topic.
Where what you want. Don’t listen to content creators. Be yourself!!
Old school vans and converse are always valid
Agreed, Luke👌
i love my checkerboard vans with the strings and will never stop wearing them. and yes its small.
1:08 What's the middle one called?
Man those early 2010s in soho during the supreme hype was a different time to be alive
Someone get me a time machine fr
Vans have never fallen off anywhere, period.
Fashion becomes corny quickly but Style will always be cool 👌
Gorpcore is so funny to me. Since I live in the north of the UK it’s normally pretty rainy up here so you would typically see someone in an arcteryx windbreaker or any sort of water repellent jacket and the salamons, or just any rugged trainer, usually the 95s up here. Seeing this become “trendy” is pretty funny to see though, even I have some “gorpcore” outfits although it’s not because of the trend, it’s because it rains a lot 💀
That’s interesting, since it’s become popular to dress like other people’s traditional style it makes sense that a practical look like gorpcore would become so popular
Maybe I'm just built different but my love for DIESEL will keep me in slim/skinny jeans for probably forever.
Nice, I’d wear slim jeans if they fit my body better. Are there any current fashion trends you like?
@WhatsTheHype.Landon I enjoy the style that's hanging around LA rap scene ie fitted shirt, trucker hat with slim jeans and some af1s or ricks
@@down2earth485 definitely, thanks for watching!
I don’t follow trends I wear what I wanna
Keep it up!
I still rock gorpcore. It's easy and comfy.
Nice! I’ve recently been paying more attention to 18east. Gorpcore mood board pages are some of my favorite on Instagram
This is why I just wear what I want. I'm not big on trends
I don’t blame you. They move so quickly from being “cool” to “dead” that it doesn’t make a ton of sense to keep up with them all
bootleg fashion is my fav cause growing up it’s what we had hate to see it get gentrified tho
That’s interesting, do you remember specific bootleg items that you enjoyed? I agree, it’s clear that a lot of these recent bootleg companies are exploiting the current trends/culture
The richer I’ve become, the less I’ve cared what I look like.
Being from Orange County I been wearing vans since elementary I'm 27 and I will continue to wear old skools until the day I die 😅 and that goes for Af1 I been wearing them since I can remember and I will continue to
Cant beat the classics👌
Gorpcore will always be relevant for me because there is no way in hell I'm not wearing a $3000 collection of hard shells and fleece
We need a collection video👀
@@WhatsTheHype.Landon It's just one Arcteryx jacket and fleece
I’ve always hated all these trends
What are you a fan of?
@@WhatsTheHype.Landon I like being dressing like themselves not ppl who follow trends just to be cool
I remember 2014, only weird kids and possible school shooters wore vans. 2015, everyone and their mother had them.
Some of these you can't convince me the person didn't look in the mirror thinking they look awful but wore the shit anyway because it was hype lol
Lol, any current trends that you think people will dislike in the near future?
I just do me regardless of what the hype is. Now I occasionally splurge on some unique sneakers (recently NB 9060 Age of Discovery), or certain articles of clothing, but nothing really designer like. Simply just do what you like and be confident while being comfortable in your own skin, and you’ll do just fine.
👌👌
I'm lowkey really happy Supreme fell out of popularity cause I'm a fan of their clothes and being able to walk into stores and see shirts, pants, sweaters etc for 70 bucks or less feels great
I agree, I’ve been enjoying being able to find old pieces I wanted that are now for sale on eBay/grailed. Picked up a leopard knit vest last week
@@WhatsTheHype.Landon ooooo how lucky
I like capitalizing on people selling off the old stuff and getting it for half retail price. That's how I get pretty much everything. See something I like, wait a year until everyone hates it again, buy for next to nothing
Agreed! I got a bunch of Supreme for great prices on eBay/grailed these past couple years
I see vans all the time. Incredibly common. I live in Maryland, United States for context. And slim pants are very common as well. I like my pants to have a tailored fit. Not skin tight and definitely not baggy.
That’s interesting, I over exaggerated a bit by saying I don’t see them at all. Definitely not as common as they were in Maine though. Thanks for watching and commenting John!
If you don't see old skools you're just not paying attention.
That’s probably a part of it too. The weather in Maine only really lets you wear Vans in the Spring/Summer so that also probably plays a role
Skating is more popular than ever, so Vans aren't going anywhere.
I do think the spotlight is more on clogs, mules, loafers, chunky boots etc than sneakers at the moment.
That’s actually partly what my next video is about!
In that way u'll be in fashion and having drip for a long time
Sounds like you know exactly what you like👌
Damn high rollers caught a stray 😭
Being trendy is cool but being you is best. Be your own style and don't worry about the trends.
Well said, thanks for the comment 👌
Something's changed especially in fashion trends during the pandemic era
I’m never leaving Nike basketball behind 😭
Galaxy Foams returning👀🤯
Swag is gonna have that so cringy it’s good type of thing where ppl will wear it ironically at first but it will then be legitimately popular
Yes, I think that’s a good possibility of how it’d take off again. Thanks for watching Jesse
Yes I remember casually wearing all my basketball shoes😅
This man's Channel Fell Off! Be yourself and you'll be good!
Lol
Im 31 i will forever wear vans, I remember first wearing vans in 06, fuck the trends the checkered slip ons and low old skools are classics they will make a comeback but until then im still wearing my vans.
That’s great👌wore my checkered slip ons yesterday
Nah Swag Era never left 🤷🏿♂️
I think the brands have evolved a bit, but there are similarities in modern styles
What if I told you gorpcore was the best style and foamposites and the like were the best sneakers?...
Swag era still the flyest era if you lived thru it
Would you like to see this look come back?
I like supreme and off white but only certain bogos and off white hoodie but I feel like it’s how you wear it coz everybody ruins everything coz anybody can make anything look basic
the swag movement NEEEDS to comeback. i can wear a bulls snap better than anyone
I like that confidence 👀
I was just talking the other day with one of my boys about how the lebron and kd trend died lol
That’s awesome, my friend has recently been wearing his Lebrons again and it brings back nostalgia. Kobes seem like the only shoes outta Nike Basketball that could return and people would buy them up again
@@WhatsTheHype.Landon I would agree that Kobe’s could catch on again. Personally as someone who never played basketball and has never really been into basketball (got into sneakers from the skate culture behind it) Kobe’s would be the only modern basketball shoes I would rock
@@tgpockl oh nice, do you have any favorite skate models?
@@WhatsTheHype.Landon my favorite shoes to skate in to this day are still jordan 1s. I was curious of why guys in the late 80s and early 90s loved them to skate in so I tried it and never looked back. Obviously I also love dunks, I prefer to skate in the non Nike SB dunks oddly enough though
@@tgpockl oh that’s really cool! The pictures of Lance Mountain and the Bones Brigade wearing 1s always caught my eye
You forgot the big shirt era 😂
True, might have to make a part 2
Wear what you feel comfortable and good in 👍
Key to being comfortable and happy!
Aime Leon Dore and Abercrombie have similar looks because Teddy & Aaron Levine are tight with each other. Unless that’s what you meant when you mentioned the comparison?
I saw a lot of people on ALD’s Reddit buying stuff from Abercrombie as alternatives to ALD. I didn’t know till recently how close Aaron Levine was to Teddy Santis until I listened to him on Throwing Fits
@@WhatsTheHype.Landon nice to meet a fellow ThrowingFits/Failing Upwards listener! And that’s a good point I feel like a lot of people shopping at Abercrombie don’t know their connection as well. I actually knew because Aaron Levine was in one of the ALD lookbooks which I thought was pretty dope.
@@epizzle6829 nice! What’d you think of the recent Drake’s collab?
Love this recurring collab tbh, and I’m definitely glad sartorial style is trending again and we’re heading into a “post-sneaker world” (shoutout throwingfits lol). That tuxedo is actually suuper wavy, what about your thoughts??
@@epizzle6829 I like a lot of the pieces too! The Dinner jacket and fair isle scarf Artie two items that stood out to me, even though they’re out of my price point. Hoping to get the pbj colorway of the Rainer boots
Dont come for nike/jordan basketball sneakers i still where them proudly with my cargos & slim fitted jeans💪🏾🔥
Do you have any favorite models?
The only bootleg sneaker that's trending rn are the vicinity akimbo lows
I’ve seen those a few times on ig. Do you have a pair?
@@WhatsTheHype.Landon nah but i want a pair
Dude, the swag era was 10 years ago.
All my shoes Vans Fym ‼️💨😂
the nike basketball era is where it all started for me. 👌🏽
Same here! I fell in love with Kobe’s, but couldn’t afford them till I somehow found a pair at the outlet in 6th grade. Watching channels like Kick Genius, Scoop 208, and Wear Testers all fueled my love of sneakers
I remember seeing dudes rock leather skinnies with red flannels tied to their waist during the swag era, when pyrex took off. I thought that shit was cool as a 12 year old haha
Bringing nostalgia back🤯
Wow, so glad I’m not a drone.
This reminds me of something I notice recently. I notice a lot of Tesla nowadays. It’s really soulless and the car has no character when you see so much of the same Tesla on the streets. Not really that different from following trends.
That’s interesting, I’m sure similar consumer trends/behavior happen despite the industry. I’d assume luxury products react even more similar
Anyone know what shoes those are at 1:20 ?
New balance 990v3 Teddy Santos

Trends come and go. There’s things that will always be in style with me and others that it was great. Brands lik ALD, Stussy and OW (simplistic Stuff will remain dope IMHO.
I personally still dig the supreme logo & the cargo pants but not in crazy colors hehe
Some of the color combinations were super loud😂I actually started wearing a black/grey/white pair again after making this videos
