  • 2012 Chevrolet Traverse - Ignition Coils and Spark Plugs Replacement
    I've always had good luck finding help videos on TH-cam for my vehicles. I made this video more in response to some videos showing a more in-depth change of the coils and plugs. Mainly, I wanted to share that you are able to reach and access the coils and plugs on the backside without removing the intake manifold. (Thank you for baring with my sniffles due to allergies - all the pollen of spring in SE NC.)
    I found Homie Hektor's video here: • Chevy Traverse Spark P... to be a great in-depth look at the process.
    And 1A Auto has a pretty simple overview of the process also: • How To Replace Engine ...
    Hope this helps.

    Thanks, I was sweating removing the intake. There was plenty of room and the whole process took way less time than expected. I am glad I found your video.

    Awesome thank you so much for your video. I was planning to change plugs on my 2019 Chevy Traverse, but I decided not to do it because of removing the valve cover I am going to try this way. Thank you so much.

    2012 GMC Acadia. I did not remove the intake either. More people need to know that. That’s where mechanics get the unknowing!

    Hi, I liked your video! I have a 2011 Traverse, and I need to replace the coils. So in the video, I saw that we don't need to remove the intake, right?

    What cylinder misfire # was that coil u changed when u were in New Jersey?

    • @daveglenn81
      @daveglenn81  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Based on my research it was #2, the front row-left cylinder as look at the car.
      Here's one of the diagrams I found online in a recent search: www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fricksfreeautorepairadvice.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2015%2F03%2F3_6-liter-Transverse-4.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fricksfreeautorepairadvice.com%2F3-6-liter-v-6-firing-order-gm-transverse%2F&tbnid=lMS1_ZRmF-ejuM&vet=1&docid=f8q1Cl-34tl2rM&w=767&h=656&itg=1&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim

    Did it cause your RPMs to go up and down?? how did you know it was misfire? did it throw a code??

    • @daveglenn81
      @daveglenn81  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It did throw a code - I can't remember exactly which one, but the code did point to the ignition coil and the number that was misfiring. If I recall correctly, while driving it almost felt like the engine cutoff and coasted for a second or two. Yellow check engine light along with the yellow "traction" light would come on. In all honesty I probably drove on it too long before fixing the original one but I was away from home and hoping to get back and deal with it.
      Hope that helps.
