    I have a 10 enclave, same engine. Trust me, the timing chains are coming. And if you don't replace the chains when they first act up, you'll be getting a new engine for $2500 to $3500 from junk yard. Oh, then the rack and pinion and power steering pump. Word to anyone watching this if you have these trucks or any car with this engine sell it ASAP. Trust me sell it.

    08 Enclave.
    I got the random misfire code.
    Car would stumble and not accelerate.
    Ran rough and seemed to go into a
    "limp mode" when asked to accelerate.
    Changed plugs, didn't work.
    Changed coil packs, didn't work.
    Changed MAP Sensor ($35 Bosch part) ... Bingo Problem solved.
    Erased codes then changed oil.
    2 days now, no issues

    Try crc gdi intake cleaner. You dont have to take the top out. And clean out the mass air flow sensor.

    I have a traverse also. Same issue, very very dirty intake and valves. How is your engine still running?

  • @kcglee8288
    @kcglee8288 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It is a bad fuel injector causing all the problems. It makes the coil go bad And you get an OBD reading of a misfire.

  • @loganmedley2469
    @loganmedley2469 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Maybe it was the coil pks on top of plugs. Causing the misfire

    Got the same issue right now 2007 GMC Acadia with 220K . Engine started shaking while driving. Codes P0202 0204 0206 popped. Replaced all spark plugs and fuel injectors, Codes were gone but now have P0300 code and engine still shuttering, shaking and misfiring.

    The 3.6 V6 in the Traverse is Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI). The venting gases from the PCV valve results in a carbon buildup on the Intake Valves. With no fuel vapor flowing over the Intake Vakes to clean them, the airflow eventually becomes restricted. This is a design oversight in early GDI engines.
    My 2011 Enclave has the same engine and had similar issues. I used Seafoam Upper Engine Treatment and fixed my issues. This however will only last so long before needing to be treated again.
    Your best long-term solution is to install an Oil Catch Can between the PCV valve and the Air Intake. This stops the vaporized oil from getting on the Intake Valves. The Catch Can needs to manually emptied every 1,000 miles or so which adds to regular maintenance.

      I've seen videos of enclaves getting the pvc extra holes and a oil catch my PVC is on the front of the air intake the part that gets in the motor is so dirty it has oil around the out side of it
      I clean the big are intake it had a lot of oil
      in the videos I've seen with the enclave they have a tube that is on the back also
      I don't see one on my 2012 traverse
      do I only have the one on the front.

    The problem was/is the catalytic converters came apart and clogged the exhaust, some people may think its a battery problem because the engine its hard to crank, it does that because the exhaust is clogged

    • @chanicecarter2612

    Surprised that you didn't create a bigger problem when you sprayed the Carb Cleaner in all of the intake runners without checking to see which valves were open, and which ones were closed.

    Did you ever check the code to see which one was miss firing and recheck it again to see if it errased the code? I have a missfire on cylinder 1. swapped the coils from a different cylinder still same code, even swapped the spark plugs as well just to see and still cylinder 1.....any help?

    • @estelja
      @estelja 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mis-firing from a bad fuel injector could be your cause. Usually, the vibration from a lack of fuel misfire is less severe than a no-spark misfire if you already know what those feel like in your particular car.

      My opinion I own too. Travers, Enclave, Acadia, Equinox all suck!! Always see them for sale new engines. I had to replace mine. With proper care and treatment. Loved it till problem after problems. My was running then had to constantly jump it. Or trickle charge. Would jump, now absolutely no power. New everything. It run, but turn that key off. Dead no lights on anywhere. Ready for a bon Fire. Put way to much into it to it. I’m not giving anyone else problems. I just say on swaps don’t buy it. I have no clue what is wrong no engine light. So I can’t scan the vehicle for codes piece of crap!! Fed up!!! Sell it or don’t buy one!!!

      Check all the minor things like air filters and check your coils and unplug each one by while running and see if there is a change in the engine idle if you don’t hear a change when unplugging one then that coil has burned out check the pcv make sure there’s no Vacuum leaks etc…

    • @haroldbriones7041

      @@mts0628 my next move will be spark plugs and intake manifold gasket, and will also try swapping my throtle body with maybe a used one thinking it could be the thing that controls the throtle while recieving signal from the computer because I also have a little bit erratic rpm specially during cold startup. After that, I’ll do my ignition coil and lastly, my fuel pump which I highly suspecttd also.

    • @haroldbriones7041
      @haroldbriones7041 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mts0628 fortunately, I solved the problem by changing my sparkplugs,it turned out that one or two of my sparkplugs has lots of soot that it maybe blocked the part where sparks happen and as a result made it weak, so the result is theres a little missfire everytime I go uphills. That causes the hesitation/jerking like effect before shifting from last gear. Aside from changing the sparkplugs, I also replaced mg intake manifold gasket which I think doesnt really need replacement.

    That’s is too much cleaner going down to the pistons you may have made things worst you got chemicals along piston rings sound like you made a engine clatter issue that miss came from some other vacuum leak
