Great video as always. I am buying this car shortly. Here's why the Ionic 5 N appeals to me and is a good fit: I'm in my 50's and owned many muscle cars in my youth. I love sports cars but have a family / dog that prohibit me having a two-seat sports car as my daily driver. I work 2 miles from home and rarely travel more than 20 miles per week total. I own my own company selling athletic equipment, and sometimes need to bring samples to my customers that will not fit in a conventional trunk. I am also aware of how electric cars are better for the environment, and can charge the car overnight in my garage. (Gas on the central coast California is very expensive). Did I mention I'm in my 50's? I long for the days of driving something fast and exciting, but still want to be practical. With this SUV, I can turn up the engine sound inside the cabin, while keeping it quiet on the outside and not piss off the wife and neighbors. I'm too old to drive a Mustang, and too rebellious to drive a mini-van. What else can I say? I love the way the Hyundai Ionic 5 N looks, as well as performs. The fact it's electric, under $100K and a family size SUV makes this a no-brainier for me.

As an owner of a 2017 Hyundai Elantra and also based on my friends experience with their Hyundai cars, I would not trust Hyundai again. So many issues, they do not last. Good luck to you if you buy one though.

In Korea, Ioniq-5-n is abbreviated and pronounced as a:ppa-n.
The funny thing is, the word a:ppa means daddy in korea.
in fact, many dads who can no longer drive noisy and rough cars are buying it.

@@ktrev34 That's funny how I would hear so many good things about Hyundai from individual owners but when someone talks bad about it, it always has to be a collective poor experience across multiple owners. That seems very unlikely, since most, if not all, cars are reliable now than ever. When people say a certain brand is unreliable or reliable, they mean the unreliable brand has 20 complaints from 100 owners while the reliable brand has 10 complaints from 100 owners. Unreliable doesn't mean all the cars from a specific brand sees issues and reliable also doesn't mean no cars have issues. So, what are the chances that not only your Hyundai, but all of your friends' Hyundais as well had "so many" issues? We're talking about a minimum of 3 out of 3 cars here that are bad. The odds of something like that happening is extremely rare and unlikely. It is infinitely more likely that you are just an internet troll that enjoys talking bad about Hyundai.

The Ioniq 5 N is for the mandatory switch to all EV vehicles. The car is aimed at those who will complain the most about the "feel" of driving dying with EVs. Hyundai is trying to make an EV still feel like driving.

The N brand debuted in the states with the Veloster N and the i30 N in European markets. All ICE N models use the same 2.0Liter Turbo 4! The 5N’s Ignition sound is modeled after the 2.0L with the DCT. As the current owner of A 22 Veloster N DCT I’d love to get a 5N after this car is paid off. And no, I’ll keep this car, it’s a blast. I highly suggest driving a 21 Veloster R-Spec and a Veloster N DCT back to back. Ive had both, and you’ll instantly see what the N brand is about and it’ll help you understand the type of buyer for these cars. Think Korean BMW! LOL!\

Dude. Literally this. Here's my car journey essentially: 1) As a kid/teenager, I was into loud aggressive supercars 2) In my mid 20s, I got into Tesla for their insane straight line performance. Then Tesla dropped the ball and got rid of all the sensors and stuff. At that time, I also advised my parents to get an IONIQ 5 RWD, which we still drive to this day. 3) I got a well paying job at the end of my 20s (literally 2 months ago) and it made me question: What kind of car can I save up for? I was looking at the i4 M50 and that introduced me to sound in EVs again, even though I like the quietness of them. AND THEN. I saw the commercial for the IONIQ 5 N. The sounds, the shifting and that goosebumps-inducing end segment: "To all N-thusiasts out there. We hear you! This is not the end of driving." made me lterally tear up. I then brought our IONIQ 5 into service and the sales rep let me rev the 5N. I was sold. I also live in Germany, so we have strict regulations to follow in terms of ICE cars. By 2030, every car in the EU needs be be fully electric. The 5 N will open the door for those that were scared, that "this is the end of driving" once they are obliged to switch to an EV.
This is weird to say, but the IONIQ 5 N is my dream car. Even if I had 1 million bucks, I still wouldn't get any other car. The engingeering and tech behind it is out of this world. Like imagine having to write software that simulates an ICE with en electric motor. Albert Biermann (Development lead for Hyundai N, now retired) is an automotive legend. Oh and one more thing: The bang for your buck you're getting is beyond human perception. Like ffs. Where can you get an EV full of tech, that has probably been through years of R&D, has 600 (+50) HP for 75k? Like it just doesn't compute.

An USS won't care about a leaf or snow being stuck to it. Even my IONIQ 5 sometimes complaines, that the "camera system is unavailable" due to dirt. But I can still rely on its USS for parking. Like any sport, timing is important. The noises and feedback to the driver allow them to time their actions around a track. If a car is too quiet and smooth, you lose this feedback; negatively impacting the driver's performance. While it may seem like a gimmick, for racers on the track, this feedback is important.

I love cars, I love speeding, but I don’t want to waste my time for periodical maintenance. That’s why I drive a Tesla right now and so far I’m pretty satisfied. It’s fast, reliable, and pretty fun to drive in general, but not fun as driving a gas car not gonna lie. I always felt something is missing, but I was not able to find an alternative. But Hyundai brought up an answer that I was looking for. Now I’m seriously considering to “upgrade”.

It's for someone that wants an EV that can also have fun and perform on a track. The sounds and shifting I would assume give the driver more of an idea how the car is performing rather than just being silent. For example a lot of drivers just go by the sound of a car to determine what gear and how fast they are going. Also this car did just do Pikes Peak basically in stock form. Not many EV's can do that

If you like to dive on the track or twisty roads and 260mi of range works for you (the car has 800v architecture it charges fast) it could be for you. Galaxy watch was a cheap piece of junk, but now it achieves similar performance to the Apple Watch. W1000 is Samsung's first 3nm GAA processed chip which is far more efficient compared to 5nm W930. Due to the nature of a wearable AP, it does't necessarily require peak performance. So, I believe that the 370% performance improvement means that the battery time is improved by about 4 times.

Hilarious that Samsung bringing back a 2017 design is insinuated that are it's copying an apple watch design that came out 5 years after the gear sport.

It's for those who still don't want to let go of ICE cars cause of the engagement.. So I think that's who it's for.. And if I could get it.. I would without even thinking about it.

As usual with the team a very badly informed video barely covering the car and stopping at "wow it makes funny sounds". Nothing about the insane work to make a car with that size and weight behave like a much lighter car, its active battery cooling tech, completely remade steering column, adaptive dampers and so on. Also the gear shifting and sound is actively helpful on track to have auditive cues for your speed, not everyone's cup of tea I get it but also not just a gimmick.
These guys really need to drive more...
As for their question, that car is for people on a budget who need a car that does it all, carrying the family and dog but you can still absolutely track and trust me when you overtake all the cayman and base 911s on the track they won't be making fun 😅

You think non NPCs in the future would want a worthless, souless appliance? This is who it's for, it is a beacon of hope for the future of fun cars.

if people don't mind simulating through their Forza games, then they wouldn't mind having an EV that is designed for the car enthusiast to have "Fun". That car has been beating out all other competitions and even those high-end sports cars. I say it's a pretty bargain deal for the working class level. Personally, given the opportunity, I would get this in a heartbeat.

I am so taken with the quiet civilized lack of noise our Solterra *doesn’t* make, I am quickly developing a distaste for the noise ICE cars make. The Ionic “sound effects” and simulated shift behaviour highlighted in this video would outright make me not purchase it.
