  • This video focuses on things you can do to practice your ship flying and fleet coordination alone. This practice can help iron out deployment and maneuvering issues with your fleet, leading to better flying in real games and less self inflicted mistakes.

When I got into Armada one thing I realized is that I had trouble predicting ship movements and distances. i didn't own anything from the game, because I had (and still have) really only one person to play with and we can meet only every few months (even if it wasn't for Corona). We ran a RitR campaign over the course of a year or so, and to prepare I actually picked up Table Top Simulator and the Star Wars Armada mock and play some mock battles to get a feeling for everything. That was helpful. Not quite helpful enough to actually win the campaign, but I had a lot of fun and could make a lot more informed decisions.

I try and do the same thing.. I keep using the same fleet until I understand its strengths and weakness. Is it good vs Capital ships, small ships squadrons, because I need to fly it differently depending on what sometimes the other player brings, so then I tweak some of the cards. But Ewok is correct, need to know how to fly your fleet period.

I am not the person to ask about the Hawk. It clearly can be good based on results from the past few large online events, basically the successful SH builds are a tough SH with Agate. 2 Floatillas, and 134 points of rebel squads, most of which have some rogue mixed in there. I personally do not like that type of fleet out of fear that if it is forced to go first, the Hawk does not have the speed or number of deployments to counter a points farming fleet, or a fleet declining to engage. You are at that point counting on your opponent to cooperate and fight you, my opinion is that SH lists need a large bid for second player to insure the opponent can not points farm them or decline to engage.
