Thanks for the video! Its fun to see the combos explained. I understod they are all good. By the way I really think the Tie advanced is underrated with its 5 hull and black die against ships. It should paint well with Steele, Vader and Jendon in a squadball that wants to take on anything!

I'm new player (started in Feb and got 9 games irl + 3 in tts) and I play Rebel MSU. Honestly, Anakin is a pain, every single time I play vs Anakin it's a bunker (2x Ven + 2x Projection Experts Pelta) at 388'ish points, so I have to play their objectives. Peltas sit between Vens, so my only way of winning (unless I begin to play the bid wars) is to focus single Ven and hope that I'll roll good enough. I know that there are ways to fight him, but so far it's not a fun experience. Need to learn the game more.

Would you use Liberator + AFFM to make the range on them even bigger?

Actually more often than not, the sal o gives 4 or 5 damage.

Because of Disney there will never be a Fan Council. At least not while the game is "actively" being produced. Also F*ck Peltas! I'm sick and tired of the boring little shits being the answer for everything. I want to run Triangles! Or CR70s. Anything but more shitty little Peltas. Anakin should probably be restricted to using green salvo tokens and not being allowed to salvo his own salvos, but GAR does need a way to up the firepower of their capital ships so that it's not a squadrons only type faction.

Great analysis. I playtested RAW Anakin against multiple fleets and your comments about his ability is exactly right - you can't engage (particularly MSU) and against experienced players you can't run. From my playtesting there were a couple of things which makes it extraordinarily difficult to counter, even with ignition and other token flipping. First, Ven's move speed 3 which means they are generally at medium by T2 (if opfor isn't running away), dual reds mean they always get the ranging shot away at long range, 5 shield at the front means they can absorb 1 ridiculous shot while double defensive salvoing. For the playtesting we used only salvo optimised Venator II hulls and over the week ended up with base loadout 3 x Ven II, with Veteran Captain, Local Fire Control, Flak Guns, Reactive Gunnery, Flechette Torpedoes and DBY. One has tranquility. The Vet Captain is only to give non Tranquility venators the ability to shift a couple of shields around. Total list is 392. The triple Ven2 lists lost 1 game (dual onager, Firesprays, but that was before the addition of flechette) had 1 game that went to T6 (rebel MSU moving speed 3/4, Vens going second). All the other games were over by end T4, mainly due to the Ven2 speed of engagement. In about half the games, a Venator died. We used the flagship only option in a recent tournament to bring him back to reality and that worked well.

Onager has people losing theirs shit for a while, now it’s just a matter of dealing with them appropriately. Yes the game needs some balancing, but I accept him as a welcomed challenge and will enjoy playing him as well. Before Anakin, GAR STRUGGLED…. As a faction. They need way more upgrade cards to diversify their ships and aid in squadron play. If you can kill the flagship, then you can almost guarantee victory in an Anakin fleet, just focus EVERYTHING ON HIM!!!! and if you are shooting other ships they can’t salvo you.

I believe that Anakin is OP, however, the cards needed to defeat him already exist and will provide new list options. There far too many cards that directly involve exhausting or discarding your opponents Defense tokens for Anakin to be game breaking. Give it a year. We all had the same reaction to the Onager when that was released.

I think i remember the ISD being an isd 2 with xi7 which is why I think the onager died it couldn't effectively use it's front shields so it basically had 11 hull plus 2+1+1 shields which is doable if you get to block the braces on both attacks also maarek twice and a fire spray can allready be 6 damage.
