- That's it, my Dakar Diaries are complete. One of the hardest things I have done, but I have done it and it seems like a lifetime ago. Would I do it again, who knows?
I am now back on the tarmac with the OMG Racing Yamaha Team and getting ready for the first round at Silverstone over the Easter weekend. This season I am competing in the full National Superstock Championship, NW200 and of course the Isle of Man TT.

That's a fabulous achievement, finishing the Dakar. Well done doesn't even start to cover it.
I only found out you did the Dakar when I watched the TT coverage. That is some achievement, especially with a dislocated shoulder! It looked quite a lonely existence while you were there, now you have had time to reflect would you do it again?
Congratulations! Massive achievement. I’m a huge fan following you from your TT and track racing. I think what you do is absolutely amazing. Watching your series it made me wonder if you felt you chose the ideal bike and if you might think after doing it that a big bore Enduro bike wouldn’t have possibly been easier to ride in the more technical sections and more then adequate on the tarmac. I’m thinking something like a Husqvarna 501 or the KTM equivalent. In the US they are easily street legal and it appeared like you didn’t actually have to carry as much gear etc as I thought was necessary. Again you are absolutely amazing for what I’ve seen you accomplish at the TT and all the Road racing and hopefully some day I’ll get over there to give it a try. As an American club racer I’ve followed it for yrs and should probably make it a higher priority to check it off before I truly am to old, or worse. Lol. at 53 on 7-20. I hope all the stars align for you this yr and it’s gods will for your career to continue into absolutely legendary status.

How is the shoulder, hopefully back to full movement and strength with no discomfort?
Got to ask - Will it be difficult to start a season off now without the Dakar first???

Part #2 . For a newcomer would you recommend a smaller bike for the TT? Something like a 2 stroke 250 or maybe a 600. I’ve also considered the older bike class. Just trying to get laps-miles and comfort believing I’d feel more confident then on a 1000. I wanted to mention how great your videos are and how much I appreciate them. Thoroughly enjoy watching them and hope you can keep it up and that enough people are watching for it to be at least a little bit $$ rewarding for you from Utube. Probably difficult timing wise but it would be very cool for you to come over here and do Daytona!! March 9-11 this yr. Usually very similar date. First even of US racing. Curious if you’ve considered it? Possibly similar to me going and doing the TT difference being I’m not a World Class racer and much less established resume-reputation.

P.s I love that the bike didn't get cleaned before the podium, up there in all her filthy glory
You cross the finish line, have a breather then straight onto the podium! Nothing can prepare for Dakar, it was gruelling, and lack of sleep was the worst part.

@James Hillier Racing I don't imagine anything can prepare you for that level of sleep deprevation.
After numerous shoulder dislocations and a few broken shoulders too .. I don't know how you ploughed on with a dislocated colar bone. Getting quality sleep after a dislocation is a niiiightmare .. in a normal bed!

The shoulder is good thank you. I am competing in the National Superstock Championship for the season with OMG Racing this year, alongside roads.

Hello, my Ultimate ear protection are also Bluetooth connected to the Cardo Edge. I only used the Cardo on long liaison rides, which could be 400 km at a time.
