Gutted you’re not doing 2024, but your outline plan for the ‘25 project sounds totally superb. Definitely loving the idea of documenting the whole planning, prep, getting there, doing it, ups, downs, etc. so was pleased watching you brainstorm when you considered the notion of others riders/team, because as you were outlining the overall plan, it immediately dawned on me (I have a natural knack for looking at the dark side 🙄🤪) that an early stage accident (it happens) or a mega mechanical (definitely happens even to top teams) that the whole “story” could be brought together a premature end. So partly as a contingency, but also from a fellow rider support/contrasting personalities?/camaraderie perspective, e.g. contrasting highs and lows & personal perspectives etc - not to forget that it may possibly then be more attractive to potential project sponsors - it should (imho) be a really worthwhile (definite 🤔) production consideration. Playing the grim reaper: stack on Stage 1 and either you bust a leg or bike frame terminal damage…what then? Anyway, whatever happens I’ll still be rooting for you when you come back to my home island next June (and if I can find you in the MGP paddock, I’ll grab a new t-shirt this weekend)
I hope you make it back to Dakar with a full team for 2025! That would be awesome and a docuseries would be absolutely brilliant! The version you did in 2023 is full send hardcore even the top team Dakar riders say they would never want to ride in that class 🤣👏 With a good team around you and touch wood no injuries I bet you’d be up there 🙌 And you’ve already introduced more motorcycle racing fans to the Dakar from the roads and circuits.

Get a 'Team TT' together for 2025 yourself, Davy Todd, and Dean Harrison. I'm sure a team of TT riders would be appealing for sponsors and media companies.
I'm sure Kove as a new kid on the block too have a lot they want to prove.. would leap at a "novice team" of seasoned racers empathetic to machinery.. splitting the costs of the support hardware & logics too with common bikes is a no brainer.. if it can be coordinated within reason.. next level stuff though
I really enjoyed following your daily progress during this years Daker but massive respect that you are prioritising your family next time around. How any of you top motorcyclists balance family life with your racing passion I just don’t know ! 🇬🇧

Fantastic achievement. Be thankful it wasn’t in the days of kickstarter only bikes. 😏 I assume you have all the contacts you need, but logistically Chris Evans who wrote for TBM when I did has vast Dakar support experience. I always wanted to do it, had the money in the early 80s but bought a flat instead! In my own way the closest I can claim is having done the SSDT and finished. Why not add that to your skill set too . 😏

I did The Original Dakar route 2005 within Mauritania and Senegal unbelievable You cannot comprehend the terrain and how hard this was one minute you feel fantastic then mass disappointment Heat and Sand and then More Heat and Sand Picking up your bike just shatters you. Mental Health just gets ripped apart one day they will do the Original Route and Western Africa Is Beautiful I still have My Motorcycle it will never leave my side......Big Respect James Off Road Riding Is Great

I know Poskitt does great video journals and very pro job of it, plus being a strong rider. Great to see others have a go at their own stories. It would be great to see the fundraising side of things, logistics and all the training and prep that goes in. I don't think enough attention gets paid to just getting to the start line! Big fan James! Keep at it!

James your Dakar diaries were brilliant videos,I’d absolutely love to do Dakar Malle moto but could never dream of affording it to start with never mind actually doing it!! Hats off to you mate top effort specially with a knackered shoulder!!!
Do it like sportscar racing. Put a 3 man package together, find a gent that pays for the lot in exchange for support, training and the 3rd seat and you get to push for a result for free while your 2nd guy is wingman for the gent . There’s gentlemen drivers paying a minimum of a hundred grand to do the shortest WEC rounds and 4 times that to do Lemans just gotta look outside the UK for ceo/md/lawyer/surgeon types
It would be amazing to see a documentary of you competing in the Dakar. It's difficult to find a whole lot of good content on it. Maybe Al Fagan from 44Teeth could be your teammate.

What you did last time was phenomenal but it doesn't seem to be a one man job. You looked wrecked in some of the vlogs, doing everything by yourself. It's a bit sketchy if you mess up. Having backup would be great. You and Billy Bolt would be great team. Take Wavey Dave along as mechanic/everything else. Bet he'd love it. Get on the phone to sponsors and network. You can do it. You have a great personality for the camera. Best of luck with everything.

Maybe consider coming to Africa for the Roof of Africa. It's not nearly as expensive as the Dakar and its family friendly.
