- A video with some renovation updates because the house is finally starting to resemble a home! This was a week of deliveries; we received our tiles, toilet, bidet, water heater, kitchen gas stove and so much more. The crew also started tiling the bathroom, laundry room and kitchen. Plus, the plaster was applied to the walls, which has made the house look a lot more livable. So, there's been a lot going on! We also found time to go on a hike with our neighbour, collect some kindling for our wood burning stove (it's starting to cool down around here!), and take part in a community seed drive for people looking to start their own vegetable gardens. So this video is a collection of all those moments, ending the week with us packing for our upcoming trip to Buenos Aires to meet Daniel!

I am in Belgrano near China town today for the month of May. The prices are high from when I visited last October.
Maybe I can visit the interior in 2025 when I return again.
I do not think that I would be able to live in the rural part of Argentina. I love the city and everything that it has to offer.

Im argentinian , but I was in Canada , Mississauga, Ontario , for 15 years , and I love it, but I have my son in Argentina and I can live without Him , so Im in Rosario now, I will love to meet you Guys sometime soon in this life.... Thank you Jim and Harriet! Timewise, we always feel like things could be progressing quicker, however, we've also learned that things here move at a slower pace and it's impossible to rush. Whenever we're talking deadlines with crews, we try to envision that it'll likely take 1-2 months longer than what's quoted! 😅 I hope you guys are already enjoying your new place!

Is it possible to get a Japanese-style bidet toilet seat there? Our house in Spain had a separate toilet and bidet that took up quite a bit of space; by combining them into a single unit (we bought a low-cost one online), we had room for a much larger shower, plus it's MUCH easier to use.
The Japanese-style bidet is definitely something we're considering once we start renovating the hotel bathrooms. They're not super common around here, but we'll need to be as space-efficient as possible. Definitely something we'll be researching further!
Do you guys plan on doing any farming? Maybe keeping chickens or something to supplement your food. Apologies if you already talked about this. I'm new to the channel.
We used to have chickens, ducks, geese, goats, sheep and horses when I lived here as a child. I'm not sure we'll have such a big farm again as that's a pretty big commitment, but only time will tell!

My mother lives in a country house when it's warm. Her main complaint is ticks, she pulls them out of the cat and dog almost every day. Do you have a problem with this or is it only Russian?
No ticks, thankfully! Maybe if we went hiking out in the bush we'd encounter some, but not on the property where we've cleared the areas around the houses.
Since your both going to Buenos Aires. Is there any chance of you being able to take us to El Ojo misterioso for a look ?
Oooh, sounds interesting! I just had to google that one. Looks like it's outside of the city in the province of BsAs, but it would make for a fun road trip sometime.

Not having tile in the laundry room might be a Canadian thing but its not a north American thing because ive never seen a laundry room with anything other than tile . What else would go in there? Carpet? That seems impractical to me
I meant tiles on the laundry room walls! 😅 We definitely have them on the laundry room floors in Canada.
You may have mentioned this, and of course you don’t have to answer if it’s too personal, but are you the only two owners? Is your dad or anyone else an investor? I was just curious if all of this huge undertaking was just you two. I know your dad helps physically, but this is a huge project both physically and financially.
